Plasticity needs to get smarter. These issues have existed in other software for waaaaaaay too long. It would be great to see the new kid on the block fix this.
I suggest to simply fix the problematic input surfaces that showed some unwanted deviation, then the automatic fillets will work properly. Much quicker and with clean geometry.
Thank you so much Nikita! Brilliant Tutorial. May I ask How did you quickly toggle ur visibility of Edges on 12:35 ? I cannot see which button you press to do that? It is so frustrated I have to click the top right corner and manually click "show edges" everytime
Nikita, is there a specific reason you use G1 continuity, instead of G2 or G3? as I understand it, the higher the G, the smoother the transition, if I'm not mistaken?
Good question. G1 is used to create a smooth transition between surfaces, as G0 is no transition at all. G1 is absolutely enough in many cases for exactly that reason. To create a smooth transition. G0 would create a seem. G2,G3... is smoother yes, but harder to set up correctly. And G2+ is mostly used for complex, organic, curved shapes which are very noticeable and have to be super high quality.

This is a very helpful explanation. I've had a few problems like this too. I appreciate the troubleshooting.
Great to hear!

Thank you for being open to other people.

I would really like Plasticity to add a taper option to Pipe where you could adjust the length of the taper. Then DIY fillets would go even faster.
Oh yeah, that would save a few clicks.
I am sure in the future it will come. Step by step:)
Great explanation of troubleshooting and filleting techniques. Bravo! 🔥🔥🔥🙌🙌🙌
Glad you liked it!
"mittle click" lol, thanx for the tips
lovet this thank you so much
You are so welcome!
Very helpful.
Thank you!

Thanks!
Press "F" -> search for "viewport toggle edges" -> right click > assign shortcut
Enjoy!
@@nikita.kapustin Wow thats awesooome! Thanks dude that saves soo much time for me!!!
Agree!! I think this is my most used/favorite shortcut. @@CharlesLijt

You have some shading problems in the render video of the helmet.......
like doing microfillets in plasticity is a pain, better to do it in polygonal software at the end
When I boolean with a pipe I always get a small strip of geometry left behind in the middle. Any idea on how to avoid this, like on the video?
I know, it is a bit confusing.
Make sure, when you pipe a curve you ONLY increase the "Section Size" value in the bottom left corner.
Thank you very much. That worked!@@nikita.kapustin
bellissima!
так как у тебя сильный акцент, думаешь ты все равно по русски))) поэтому все понятно даже на английском)) тутор хороший!!
Думаю я на немецком))
