The Techmo Super-Bowl franchise should have never stopped and I'd love to see them come back and do multiple sports if they can destinguish themselves with a unique look.
Video Games are exactly like art. This somehow felt like football. So did NFL Blitz. Why? As a player, the feeling of football is fighting for yards, avoiding tackles, and outsmarting the opponent. On defense it’s finding the right angles and battling to take a guy down. These games that hold up over time capture that illusion.
I don't watch football anymore or in many years and I certainty don't play madden but I would totally play this. I still play the second tecmo bowl on my Nintendo and tecmo superbowl on my snes to this day. Great video.

I see it but before I can act the chance is gone, maybe they will improve a bit, but I'm super competitive so I will give it a go for a bit before I decide to hang it up lol. I love simulations and coaching so I have been doing the sim games which rely on the brain and not reflexes lol. . Still, Tecmo Bowl will always be a legend in my eye!!! While I have Madden 2017-2024 across threes Xbox generations, I actually spend more time playing NFL 2K2 on Dreamcast and Madden 08 on PS2. While realism has its place, I want a game to be fun and enjoyable. I will be picking this up for my Genesis. To all my fellow Gen-X gamers remember this: “Gamers don’t get older, we level up!”
Unless I’m missing something, that wasn’t all 32 teams, and still had old logos for some of them. I get that hacking that sort of thing is way more complex than updating names and stats, but the NES update roms have managed to add the teams and update to 8 divisions, so it’s a bit of a disappointment.
You’re correct, I bought the same exact game and it doesn’t have all 32 teams, has the old logos/uniforms colors and helmets and the if you start a season and play some games and turn it off or reset the game system, it doesn’t save any of the data. The Idea is great to add the sega version of this game, but still needs more work.

I have this cartridge too and when I inquired about it, the seller told me that he had a non save version and a save version and charged me a little more for save version. The game doesn't save but I opened up the cart and the battery and holder are there and the battery needs replaced. So I'm curious to know the makeup of your cart if you opened it?!
Never understood how they were able to edit and add teams on the NES roms but not the SNES or Sega roms. every year i download the latest NES rom of the updated rosters. would love to see that one day for the SNES and Sega roms.
They are doing the SNES and Sega games I have a few Cartridges that I have unboxed recently. I am hoping to get the SNES set done by the end of the year. So far I have 97 98 99 00.

I have seen Tecmo Super Bowl 2023 on NES. But the SNES Version of 2023 I have not seen on Cartridge. Right now on Etsy VideoGameHQ has 2024 available which is the 2023 season with the NES Sprites. they made 3 like the snes. there are two versions of this one, this being the second one that is more broken as the blue abilities dont change (only the pink ones) when conditions from bad to excellent change like the first version. and the intro doesnt complete on this one either.
