Yeah, in terns of 'where to build' from what I've seen of this game, it's actually great as I can click on the buildings first, compared to them being introduced later, and plan out my settlement first, or at least of industry and military buildings (as I like the idea of my housing outside, urban living, fresh air and all that) lay out the roads, then plan from there.
You didn't mention this so I'm not sure if you're aware but the creative director and co-founder of the Pioneers of Pagonia dev studio is actually Volker Wertich, the original creator of The Settlers. He made The Settlers 1 and 3, the latter of which is still regarded as the best and most popular Settlers game among fans. That's why Pioneers is SO similar. He was briefly involved with Blue Byte's most recent Settlers game, "New Allies", giving fans high hopes for the new title but then he left due to "creative differences" and the game turned out to be crap (surprise surprise). So he made Pioneers of Pagonia with his own studio instead. I think it captures the Settlers vibe well enough while also innovating and adding some new mechanics. It's obviously the real next Settlers sequel.
Thanks for covering this game! I have this game on my wishlists but I’m still not sure to buy it. You always make great clear content. Mostly I’m following your anno content but love to see more from this game.
They have to sort the combat/military and village vs village conflicts out, for now, it's a bit boring/annoying. Looking towards the game's development!
Can you test THE UNIVERSIM , is god sim but it has a lot of city builder/economy, it need a little of media, I liked that game a lot , it has 10 years of development but finally is 1.0 release/complete you should try it.
"Is Pioneers of Pagonia the Successor to The Settlers?" "Maybe later some day Vader, now he's just a small fry." In short - no. Or at least not yet. It might become a marvellous game, but currently it's awfully clunky and simply unfinished. Keyboard shortcuts are non-existend and the interface overall is far from optimal. Space works in misterious ways, 3x3 sometimes is enough to fid a Sawmill, some time later in the same space I can no longer fit a Sawmill. While there's no strict grid, the way the "lack of grid" is implemented makes me wish there was a grid. For now I'm not exactly happy that I had already paid for this game. I've been Settlers-starved for years though, so I genuinely hope that this WILL become a good game.
@@TakaTH-cam For now I've returned to Colonization: We The People. I might return to PoP later, when I finish my current Col: WTP playthrough. I still hope that it'll be improved, because I can see the potential.
Yeah yeah I know this game made by original Settlers Volker idea. But the problem tbis game economy is zero nothing fun. You start with many settler and you have more material. Resource is not fun in this game. Hardwood, beam wood, firewood I mean why so many why so many we need that it's doesn't make any sense Volker 🤦 Simple not feel interesting. Volker need to learn and watch other game city builder like Stronghold, Endzone, Survival Aftermath and Manor Lords, how work economy . Sorry my english guys 😁

My brain: "Carrier has arrived."
