I love the idea of this Pluto seeing her popularity among children and deciding “I will guard you with my life!” And being known as a protecter of young children.
I also design and sew costumes, so I approach character designs that are supposed to only exist in a 2d space in a very different way. With these I can defy the laws of gravity and design in a way where I don't have to be practical. I don't get to be quite as free with my costume designs lol

It works really well that one of plutos moons is called hydra and you went for multiple headed moons (obviously cerberus was the main inspiration but I like that’s it’s managed to link in with other multi headed beasts) Pt 3 of giving them titles; 1) Uranus of the icy winds 2) Neptune the sea of starlight 3) Pluto the forbidden child of wonders
being a deity of the underworld isn’t (necessarily) evil! maybe Pluto was, uh. disqualified? bc death is viewed as negative by others (what if she lost the majority of devoted believers and could not be considered a god anymore huh) and her goal would be to restore her reputation, so to speak. also the color palette of these three is so pleasing to look at… i had a feeling they’d end up being my favorites and it definitely came true haha
Pluto is forever a planet in my 90s kid heart. What an incredible journey through a bunch of hot -planets- -people- -planets! It's always delightful to see your work, but felt especially topical since my lady-wife is currently trying to design a magical girl character for an upcoming Pathfinder campaign. Happy 2023! Even though you may not have had it in mind when drawing Uranus's moons, but the fact that rabbits often represent the moon in much asian folklore. So, I just thought that was cute :D

I've only seen like two other videos from you but your creations in this video paired with the the very interesting commentary going in depth on the motivations and inspirations of each design and a few cool facts about each planet convinced me I NEED to check out your other stuff. Great video, I love your art so much! I know it’s very very overdone, but I’d love to see your take on the Greek pantheon, or even some of the underappreciated deities like Thanatos and Zephyrus. There’s lots of material to work with, and I think the high fashion inspiration you usually draw from would definitely do them justice. Norse and Egyptian mythology is equally as interesting if you’re looking for something less tropey
Right from the thumbnail, Pluto reminds me so much of Anna with the ice streaks on her brown hair, if by some twist of fate she got ice powers from/instead of Elsa. Pluto's personality lines up with my Anna head cannon pretty well too! A kind but lowkey angry young woman jaded by her circumstances.

God, I've been loving these planet character design videos so much, they get me thinking about our solar system and generally our place in the universe, in both "Wow, the universe is so amazing and big" and "Wow, we know nothing beyond the scope of our own nose in the astronomical sense, for all we know, we could be the only "living" thing in the universe". I love everything you do, I could listen to you talk about anything for hours and nothing puts me in such a productive mood as your videos do. If all goes to plan, I'l be spending my first paycheck on one of these prints, Jupiter and Pluto have my heart 🤍 Edit, I really really like how you actually used the colors of the planets and relied on textures and silluette in the series, it's just look so natural and unified bc of course it is! I feel like seeing as though we’ve already seen wolves as Saturns animal companions, I think it wouldve been really cool to make plutos companions bears- especially to play onto the almost nordic themes she has and give her that internal strong power/anger she has (like for being kicked out of the planets club). Got an idea. The dwarf planets are a minority, and our solar system planets are like celebrities. One of those planets takes a liking to Pluto (probably Neptune) and mentors her. Pluto becomes an advocate for dwarf planets with the platform accidentally given to her by a planet. It then gets taken from her, but its too late. Pluto is mad and so are all the other dwarf planets and some other planets. Pluto continues to fight. think about it. It would make a great story.
I am absolutely *in love* with Uranus and Pluto which is kind of surprising to me cause besides being alive when they revoked Pluto’s planetary status, I had no connection to these planets. Earth, Jupiter, and Mars are my other most liked designs !! Very excited to find out that Uranus is gender neutral and the way you portrayed them made me so happy. I’m a femme-leaning non-binary person and it’s just nice representation-

As a soon to be new graphic designer and a new to digital drawing artist I normally stick to paper pencil,marker, Cp (color pencil) or whatever you wanna use but I just can’t seem to find an art style. But I love to draw fantasy based characters that I make up on the spot so that’s what I see within your drawings, when you draw characters based of certain things it just speaks out to me and encourages me to pick up a sketch book and just draw whatever comes to mind. Anyways enough of my rambling, Superior video, the art is just so precious and you just can tell that it’s made from the heart. Long astronomy rant forewarning: I think an interesting concept for some characters - as well as character lore- would be stars. Here's the rant: Our sun is a relatively mid-sized to small-ish star, but there are so many different types of stars, and star evolutionary stages. For stars, there are red giants, which are incredibly luminous and humongous stars that are towards the end of their life cycle. Blue giants are also very large and luminous, but their cores burn infinitely hotter, so they contain much heavier elements like iron. Since they are so massive and contain so much material, their liffespans are much much shorter than a star like our sun, Basically, Live fast, die young. When a star like this begins to die, it can go supernova, which means the outer layers explode around the cooling core and create these massive bursts of multi-colored gas, star-matter, and radiation out into space (kinda like a big cape or billowy skirt??). Brown dwarfs are failed stars who tried to form as a star but didn't have enough mass, so they exist as cool (in terms of stars), low luminosity, bodies in space. A neutron star isn't actually a star, but a ball of tightly compact neutrons. They're actually not much larger in size than New York City, but they hold so much mass that they outweigh our sun. The most interesting thing about neutron stars is that if they get too big, they collapse on themselves and become black holes. Black holes aren't dangerous until you get close to them. You don't know you're trapped until you try to move away from the black hole (toxic character maybe?) Nebulae (nebula) are clouds of gas and dust that block some light source, usually distant stars. They're incredibly unique in shape and color and they look generally super cool. The rose nebula kinda looks like a skull, and the Cat's eye nebula is like a symmetrical gyroscope. Anyway that was the incredibly long rant, it would be super rad to see some characters with these concepts :)

When a star like this begins to die, it can go supernova, which means the outer layers explode around the cooling core and create these massive bursts of multi-colored gas, star-matter, and radiation out into space (kinda like a big cape or billowy skirt??). Brown dwarfs are failed stars who tried to form as a star but didn't have enough mass, so they exist as cool (in terms of stars), low luminosity, bodies in space. A neutron star isn't actually a star, but a ball of tightly compact neutrons. They're actually not much larger in size than New York City, but they hold so much mass that they outweigh our sun. The most interesting thing about neutron stars is that if they get too big, they collapse on themselves and become black holes. Black holes aren't dangerous until you get close to them. You don't know you're trapped until you try to move away from the black hole (toxic character maybe?) Nebulae (nebula) are clouds of gas and dust that block some light source, usually distant stars. They're incredibly unique in shape and color and they look generally super cool. The rose nebula kinda looks like a skull, and the Cat's eye nebula is like a symmetrical gyroscope. Anyway that was the incredibly long rant, it would be super rad to see some characters with these concepts :)

I love this series because I have a bunch of ocs named after each of the planets and they’re all siblings (I call them the Solar Siblings!) I think they’d absolutely be hyped about these videos because they’d want to see what you’d design for each of their namesakes lol.
