I’m just sat there thinking how the heck did I get all the way through education without being told really basic fundamentals like how different elements were formed? And this kids film explained it so well.

A more standard way to define moon. Is a natural object of singular mass that orbits a planet. Scientists debating this are arguing if it’s an area of more densely collected orbital dust. Or it’s an extremely low density moon. This is scientific PotAYto/PotAHto.
I think clearly visible and able to land on are pretty reasonable definitions to a moon's existence. Anything large enough to be a gas giant is already a planet, anything like a cluster of dust around an object we can define as a dust cluster. Though I agree with you. This is just someone wasting time or who really, really needed to get that thesis written and didn't have time to check anything else.
At the end of the day, no matter what theory you buy into, it doesn’t lead you anywhere closer to finding out if there is some sort of meaning behind that light at the end of the tunnel. Nobody is getting out of this thing alive, we may as well not even have names or personalities: we’re just conscious things experiencing stimulation. Jul 17, 2023, and a lot of that can be attributed to the findings of the James web telescope, and recently, we found out the Nebula contains planet clusters Orion, for example, so basically, we don't know shit but to sit their and spew things as fact is just ignorant in its self. Humans are pretty pathetic regarding the scale of knowledge, and astronomy will make you feel insignificant because we all are.
