I think one problem for a future fighting game is the fact that at this point it's hard to figure out who to put on the roster, Because unless you want the entire game just to be Ultramen you have to pick and choose carefully which character you want in.
I mean you can just do it like how the gundam vs series does it where for each series you have 2 or 3 main character ultra and 1 or 2 villian for said series. The only realistic problem to me is how they could implement the 1000 ultra form that every modern ultra come with.
@@acidgolem2132 There's also the problem that a lot of them might share a lot of same special moves as well such as rays, saws, etc, unless a Tier system like in Gundam VS is implemented.
Some corrections on FE0 (I spent countless hrs in this game in my childhood) 1. Spirits can be turned off in settings, you can also choose how many spirits are allowed (1-3) 2. There is a hidden story line, under which if you beat this line you will unlock the hidden father of ultra, this is the only FE game where he is playable. 3. There are minor differences between story lines, the ultraman who shows up to help and such will change base on their background story. 4. There are unique interactions, for example if Seven's eye slugger finish was blocked, he redirects it and deals a reduced damage.
FER will always be my favorite Ultra game, it have an original story, the animations and effects from when the character uses a special I think they are amazing (even because of that I got to like Ultraman Gaia and Taro).
Fun fact in fe3 if you press any of the buttons quick enough when you grab someone you can do a light medium and strong grab but it has to be really quick though
FER was my first Ultraman game and I love it also it give my favorite Ultraman (Cosmos) central role in the story! Though FE3 is definitely the better one for replayability and move customization (also love playing and one-shotted monster with Legend)
When I first played it, I really like FER, but one thing I absolutely hate about it that convinced me FE3 is better is... EX Tyrant 2 mission That mission was a pain in the ass to go through
@HaykalH took me about at least five tries. After failing the first two tries i searched around the internet on how to beat him Everything would be better if I don't need to do taro's finisher within a limited amount of time
I remember being so obsessed with this game and the fact I don't own any kind of console gaming back in the day and playing at my friends house was such a blast, FE3 and FER are def one of my favs to date because of the nostalgia
I feel a new Fighting Evolution would have it's work cut out for it with devs needing to figure out which Ultras and monsters to prioritise for the roster. Not to mention managing all the multiple forms Reiwa Ultras have and how it'll work as a game mechanic. I am also glad that somebody appreciates the weighty-ness of 3's combat system just thinking how would they pull it off with the flashier modern Ultras. But I guess that can be incorporated as a gameplay element in how the Ultras from different eras will play out. Either way I think any new Fighting Evolution will definitely field the 3 OGs from the 1st game, Tiga for Heisei, Zero and whichever is the new upcoming Ultra.
Here is what I feel a new Ultraman game should have to make the combat flow better; have the same theme of "need to finish with a special attack" but the special attacks are normal and fast during normal gameplay. When it's used as a finish move, then it can be a full fanservicy animation. A game that did this was Evil Zone. Every character had a super special move that they activated by shooting a red projectile. If it connected, the opponent was caught in a short cinematic attack. HOWEVER, if this attack would result in a victory, the animation was suddenly twice as long and vastly more flashy.
Yeah as you said FE3 is a treat, I start a new save file every couple years and go through unlocking everything just because the game is such a solid Ultraman game and my options are otherwise limited when I want to play Ultraman content. FE0 is a fun little thing too, I remember grinding out all the unlocks back in high school. Alien Hipporito's silly little instakill gimmick was really enjoyable to play with and really made me like him more as a character. The Pris-ma spirit syncs incredibly well with him, since the enemies beam attacks stop hurting you and instead regenerate your bar, so you can pull them into the death spot easier.
Man I remember looking at screen shots of these games years ago and feeling bummed that we never get the kaiju related games released here. But great reviews man if only for the final installment they combined all the good elements from 3 and 4, those darker designs are awesome!

I wanted to like FEV Rebirth so much. Seeing footage of it in an old Okkusenman cover video is one of the things that made me want to get into Ultraman for the first time. It looked so cool! And it still does! But it was just a nightmare to play. Everything felt super broken and way too hard, even on easy (and I'm someone who plays a decent amount of fighting games). And don't get me started on that weird thing where you have to do a random button sequence the game doesn't properly tell you to pull off some-kind-of-necessary-to-win moves. Would love to see a better game with this kind of AMAZING presentation.
I never played these games growing up but I did play a bit of 3 and Rebirth through an emulator a couple years ago. Completely agree with all your points, I could honestly never get through either game because of how difficult it became at times and I'm just not a fighting game enthusiast. However with that saying, I would definitely be interested in a more next-gen fighting game with online matchmaking capabilities. Definitely seems like a fun thing to play with the bois in VC.

Yeah the pacing is definitely quite bad, but the battles IMO feel so much stronger than the ones in FE3. FE3 in my opinion felt a bit weightless due to the sfx and slow punches. FER fixed that for me, with faster punches and much more meaty sound effects. Though yeah I can’t really defend the specials. I personally liked them alot but yeah they are far too slow. @H48 Judging by confusion on what that even is, I have no idea how to use one. XD
@@gtrproductions269An emulator is something you can use to emulate and play games on different console systems. To get an emulator you need a pc. Use a ps2 emulator and play games that were on the ps2. Like UFE. Search up PCSX2 emulation guide. Its like 5 minutes of your time it's really fast.
Hello ZaGurodan, Can you review game Superhero Operation Series, Kamen rider Climax Heroes Series, Lost Heroes Series And The Great Battle Series
10:26 and fucking Nexus, (they released nexus game before this one)
FER skill animations packs so much punch that other ultraman game looks weak in comparison for me
I'll stick with Kamen Rider Climax Heroes, thank you very much
FE3 is the best
Hear me out, ArcSys Ultraman fighting game.
Just make a new one like the good DBZ games, and it will sell well lol
I just finished the video and saw where Sparking Zero was mentioned. Lfg
god i miss ultraman games, I'm not a fan of the recent ultramen series like ginga and so on. Their designs are horrid for me, plus the fusion thing they got going on. Not loving it
