I haven't checked in on the keyboard scene in like 3 years. It's wild that this is now a mid range board especially for that price. I swear this would have been like $400+ easily only a few years ago.
Nice vid mate I don’t know if you mentioned it, watched the video a few times but wasn't super attentive , but if it's tri-mode, does the wireless have QMK/VIA/VIAL compatibility v
Thank you Jammies. Yes and VIA compatible but I don’t believe in wireless mode. Don’t think I’ve ever tested a keyboard that could do that.. is that a thing ?
@@zekedgtl I don't mean being configurable with VIA while wireless. I just mean being configurable with VIA, and then usable wireless afterward without mapping issues. I do believe wireless configuration with VIA is possible, but I think it's extremly rarely implemented because of battery drain issues. However, there are a few boards (e.g., Keychron), that appear to have implemented remapping with VIA that are then able to be used wireless without battery issues, but i'm not so sure on how that works
@@jammies701 On the official Qk website, it says all PCBs are VIA compatible. If you ctrl+F search VIA on the GB page you will see it in point 5 in the further notes and instructions section.
I went Navy/Brass tri-mode, FR4 then plan to put Nixies and GMK Blue Samurai on it... been trying to find a keyboard that truly fits those keycaps well for some time so I hope this one is it! I have almost all the budget option but still use my QK75n or Nuphy Halo75 v2 most of the time. Definitely looking forward to the lower front height. Your board sounds fantastic with the FR4 and Xinhai... I just might have to use my heavy Xinhai over the Nixies after hearing yours! Those are Osume caps right?
@@zekedgtl Thanks! Yes I have sound clouds, the Azure that came with the Evo80, whatever came with the Rainy75 and Xinhai heavy... all are a little light for me except the Xinhai but they are so smooth and sound so great those and Nixies have taken me from a normally tactile user to linear over the pat 8 months or so! In my personal experience I can type faster on the Xinhai than any other switch it seems.
@@zekedgtl Purely a colour choice by me. And I think I read brass provides a brighter sound profile. Trying to hit a 'creamy pop' / 'deep clack' kinda sound. Any suggestions?
I was THIS close to purchasing one, but then I realized I already had 5 other keyboards I never use besides my main driver and decided against it. Now I am sad, but my wallet is happy. Well, not happy, but happier than it would've been.
I was thinking the same thing as well. Came down to: Neo75 if you know what it provides is what you want (more clacky sound profile by design, more timeless design and a more focused purpose). Zoom Tiga provides a screen/rgb/scroll and many more mounting options for tinkering and figuring out what you like and more edgy design which you may or may not like. Also if you prefer thocky sound I believe the Zoom might be a better option with the cork! Ultimately I went for Neo75 myself.
@@The_Spctr I agree with that statement. Both have magnetic connectors and ball-catch designs, so it really doesn't matter beyond what you'd prefer. I do think the Neo looks way better though.
Great video, showcases the grey-gold colour-way perfectly. Thank you!
Thank you, glad I can help!
I even brought out the matching hoody 😂

You are right, the keyboard scene has really exploded in the last few years.
Thanks for the review, I’ve been waiting for this since I got grey gold with brass as well.
That’s perfect, glad I can help out . I think you’ll love it! Any ideas for which switches yet?
@ I’ve got HMX and TTC switches coming in to try them both
The king is back!!

What a beautiful color way

Bro looking really healthy I like it!
lol thanks 💪
Thinking about getting carbon fiber is that good ?
Top 2 favorite plate types for me. If you like clack go for it!

@jammies701 oh I see what you mean. I’ll give it a try in a bit, but I would assume so.

Great video! Is the tri-mode PCB connector USB-A? the dongle looked like so.
Thank you, and yep! I haven’t seen a USB-C dongle included with a keyboard yet. That would be interesting
@@zekedgtl I'm new in this whole custom keyboard thing so I wasn't sure :) thanks for replying!

I went with Navy/Brass tri-mode, FR4 as well. Planning on putting Gateron Sea Salt Smoothies with GMK Moonlight on it!
@@impruv522 nice, that’s a popular combo and I understand why. It almost feels like more people are going brass than copper

cu does that means we will eventually have one without copper and full alu? thats sounds more pleasing to me
I’m not so sure. That might be cool if they mix match different ano colors

Totally acceptable. I often forget that you guys also have hella keyboards hanging around 🤣
@@zekedgtl You don't? 😅 I thought it was common sense to keep at least a dozen in the wardrobe...
yea you’re totally right, I honestly have like 50 rn 😅 I would not necessarily recommend lol
This or Zoom75 Tiga?
Was considering both myself, this looks way more dialled and focused, versus the Tiga that seems a bit gimmicky and unrefined.
I’ll know once I finish my TIGA video this week 😅
@@zekedgtl Please give me your comments comparing the choice between these two keyboards.

What keycaps?
Looks like Osume tsukimi
If only this has rgb
Yea they often leave it out of the Neo boards, not sure why anymore
Too Clacky. I rather have a nice buttery smooth silent board like my Nuphy Halo75 with silent reds. I can't stop typing on it
You can build this board that way if you wanted to. I just chose these switches, plate and foam setup during build
