Reeves puts a convex edge on their knives. Makes a strong & durable edge but not very aggressive cutting. I sharpened it out when I got mine as well. Mine is the S45VN, takes a great edge. Thanks for the video.
Beautiful knife! My problem is I just don't like framelocks. It is nice that they make them left handed but I just don't like the looks of them. But that said this is a fabulous knife, well designed and well thought out. Great review and explanation of the pivot.
Great vid thanks. Just purchased the same knife. If I may beg a question…? What angle did you sharpen at and did you clamp the knife parallel to the jaws prat an angle…? Looks to have a neat bevel width from heal to tip👍thanks.
I’m not really sure of the angle. I just used a sharpie on the factory edge, and copied it with my Worksharp Precision Adjust. The factory edge is convex (the blade is concave), so I started with the ‘stone’ in the middle of the bevel and flattened it out.
Love my small 21 but am thinking of selling it! Such is life in the knife game! Thanks for the look at this great knife my friend!!
I struggle to part with my knives and only sell the real duds. I do try to restrict my purchases to ones that will enhance my collection only.
@@slick_slicers That is a good way to do it!!
Love the new handle layout and everything else about them.lol.atb paddy
Look much better than the 21, and it feels great with the micarta.
I do want this one but I have the small 21 for now.
Very nice looking knife with some great comparisons.
Thank you!
The micarta looks great on that one. I love that CR makes left handed frame locks too. Cheers, buddy.
It’s the best thing about them!

They ain’t pretty, that’s for sure, but this is a great everyday work knife.
That’s a grail for me. I would love even to handle one

@@slick_slicers thanks for the reply that makes sense and will really help. Much appreciated 👍
