Welcome to the channel, this is where we do EV conversions on fun and interesting cars and try to get as much power as possible from the mainstream OEM EV components currently available today. Our current project is to build an Electric Porsche 911 using the inverter, motor and battery pack from a Nissan Leaf. The subject of our Electric Conversion is a 1998 Porsche 996 Carrera S. I hope you enjoy following our progress through the project.
The previous version of the motor mounts I made for this Nissan Leaf motor were fine for test driving the car very short distances, but I need to make something more solid for proper on road use. We got a hold of a Porsche 996 Turbo part that we can use to fabricate a custom motor mount and get this Nissan Leaf motor securely mounted in my Electric Porsche 911.

About the control system we're using:
The board I have chosen is the "Open Inverter" logic board with a Nissan Leaf adaptor board. Full details of this open source inverter can be found here:

Good to see you back. I'm putting a Leaf into a 2011 Mini Cooper, and your videos have been helpful.
Thank you so much for documenting your progress so well. I am seriously considering a similar project, and had a question about the gearbox. I watched the video where you tore it apart to evaluate the merits of mounting it upside down, and it looks like you have elected to mount it right side up. But, it also looks like you have it mounted 'backwards' (as in, it will be running in reverse). In the teardown video we can see an oil reservoir that the large gear is meant to sling oil into so it can drip on the intermediate shaft bearings. If it's running in reverse that won't work. I have seen others talk about mounting an oil pump and tapping into that reservoir to keep it full, is that something you have looked into at all? Or do you have other thoughts on the matter?
It’s a good question. I am planning to run it for a short while without any additional plumbing to see how things go. With the main gear running in reverse it will actually be directing the fluid towards the intermediate shaft bearing, rather than away from it. I’ll then take another look at the inside of the box after driving for a bit and see how it is faring and if any additional plumbing is needed.
