Hmong people ces celebrate new year from September to December. We need to be uniform just like Americans celebrate Christmas or New Year. Same date every year, nationwide.

Hmong are a little off track, why we celebrate new year in September, October and November??? New Year should be celebrated sometime in December....

Hmong People does not celebrate the "New" year. They Celebrate the harvest, which is the ending of the year and welcoming the "New" year coming up looking forward to another successful harvest. But As generations pass, younger ones thought the celebration was actually for the upcoming NEW year instead of the harvest season. That is why Hmong New year's traditionally was called "Xyoo Laus tas, Xyoo Tshiab." or "Noj 30" Meaning ending the year, welcoming the new year or "Eat -30" which is the last month of the year. That's why Hmong people always work so hard to get their last harvest before the year ends, so that they can wear their Hmong Dress they have sown so long for that specific year. It was originally celebrated during the Last two months of the year where everyone has completed their harvest, everyone is just staying, chilling at home in the village doing nothing. It isn't really celebrated for the upcoming New year. It's Celebrated for the last harvest then Welcoming the upcoming New Year. That is why many celebrate in various time of the Fall season, which is Harvest Season.
