I think vintage bags stand the test of time, especially in this day and age, because you don’t see them 12 times a day on your Instagram feed styled in exactly the same way. And because we don’t see them on every person, and really no one has seen them for decades, they are so hard to place when you see them today. Their uniqueness gives them their staying power. I love shopping for vintage bags because you can get materials and craftsmanship you most likely couldn’t afford to buy new today.
“Why do vintage bags stand the rest of time?” I think (especially now) with massed produced bags and overexposure on the internet, bags will become dated very quickly, simply because we see them so much. Anything one of a kind will seem to stand the test of time, because uniqueness itself is timeless. Love your channel 🙌🏼
Here's my how to style vintage bags, my vintage bag collection video!!!!!!! Give this video a thumbs up if you are a fellow vintage bag lover?? See you soon my lovelies :-))
Karen, could you do a 'how to style unusual and unexpected'. Because you do it so well. Come up with combinations most won't think of and show them to us...please! xo
I think the vintage bags will always stand out... First, when you pick up a vintage bag it speaks to you personally, your very style, you buy without being influenced by trends or brands . I think it shows when carrying it. Second, bags with a life, already loved and lived in have such a beautiful patina and look to them that makes them even more appealing in my opinion. Third, vintage designer bags have a lovely quality even more so than current bags, and often come back in rcent collctions... Bag of the day, vintage gucci ophidia... like the saddle very much 2018 and yet very vintage. Love your videos! Keep em coming!!! Thanks
The excitement levels when you score something amazing at a flea market can't really be described ( I found a barely used vintage Delvaux backpack for $15 at a flea market, needless to say I lost my sh*t) So yeah I 100% agree with you, when it comes to quality, vintage ALWAYS wins! I wish other bloggers would catch on to that. 🤐 Btw, keep an an eye out for vintage Bally bags on eBay/etsy. They are just 🌟🌟
KarenBritChick I’m a lover of vintage everything is just so timeless. Omg!!! That 2nd fringed bag at the beginning is everything. The snake skin purse is gorgeous, after seeing it I pulled mine out that I forgot all about. I’m in love with the white beaded purse. I love the contrast of the orangey red dress and that beaded bag. I have a tiny brass tin purse but I can’t use it anymore because I switched to the bigger iPhone lol and because I love it I won’t part with it. I also have a purse like your feminine beaded yellow one except mine is a pink with beads. Beautiful selection, thank you for sharing with us. #karenbritchickinspo
Almost all of my high end bags are vintage. Its the best way to go IMO for designer bags. I've been into buying vintage bags for several years now thanks to you and a couple of other bloggers. I like "different" and vintage allows me to fulfill that need to have something different that no one else has. My most recent score is a vintage beaded Fendi baguette I found in mint condition for $70!
I've always loved vintage bags! I used to sell them in my antique booth. Since I no longer have it, I still have a fun collection. You're right they stand the test of time! xo Beth
Love vintage bags! So original! Hate all the LV and the “status” bags... they should pay you for carrying around their initials! Because who wants a bag every other person can have if you’re stupid enough to follow the herd. I’ve got a vintage “Mohawk bag too... just love it! I inherited all my mother’s bags that were made in theVillage in Manhattan in the 50s... lucky me!
Hi Karen, I started buying vintage designer clothes recently - for sure influenced by your videos. I have to confirm that some items are so well made that I simply love to touch and wear them. I can see a clear diffenece between those clothes and fast fashion. And: people are also giving positive feedback when they see me wearing that stuff. I will continue buying vintage now. I also bought a LV bucket bag from the seventies in absolutely perfect condition with the most beautiful patina ...love, love, love that bag. Will never ever get rid of that. The vintage things are now the "diamonds" in my closet and I love hunting for them as well. Thanks for the inspiration to do so.
I LOVE all your bags! I have a nice little collection of vintage ones now. When my mother died 16 years ago & my sisters & I went through her belongings, none of us really wanted any of it, including her handbags (well, we let one sister have all her things and the contents of the house). I'm kicking myself now...she had beautiful 1950s hard-sided bags (like the ones you call "royal") in alligator, patent leather, ostrich, etc.; 1960s straw basket-types with & without leather accents, beaded clutches...omg, they were all lovingly wrapped in their original tissue paper...yes, she wore them all throughout her life, and always re-wrapped them in tissue paper and put them in their own cloth bags in the top of her closet. I remember loving the style of them when I was a kid. WHY didn't I take them? I imagine my sister sold them in garage sales for a dollar or two. . . :( (Let's don't even go into the mid-century modern Danish furniture, sunburst clocks, low-slung settees, yada-yada-yada, all original...) Thank you for rescuing all those gorgeous oldies!
I am so excited about this video!!! I love thrifting and vintage girl!!! I am giddy watching this video!!! Love every single bag!!!love anything that having to do with vintage including music! ahhhhh love it!!!! I will watch this video on repeat!!!
LOVE vintage purses (I have a few of my own) because they add an unexpected twist to a casual outfit. I usually wear mine with jeans/denim. Thanks for the inspiration, Karen!
I love vintage, thanks in large part to my mom who loved thrifting. I have a vintage MCM and Gucci. I prefer preloved vintage designer bags to the new. There’s something so classic and stylish about vintage bags, jewelry and clothing. Love your channel❤️
Ahhhh my God!!! I love your vintage bag collection!!! I wish I knew sooner and not throw away a very old ('70) leather italian bag in a rich burgundy colour!!!! I learn from you every time!!!
Vintage bags are totally my thing, ever since I was a teenager. I have such a hard time finding clothes and shoes that fit me properly and so I find great delight in bags; they always fit, lol! PS: I just love your laugh-it makes me happy!
Wow love love love this video. I”m in awww because I just love vintage bags too: so unique, so well made, so timeless and in each of these pieces there is so much craftsmanship. Enamorada!!!
I love vintage as well! My grandmother has that exact same colorful beaded bag - she got super cheap at a thrift shop at one of those days where you can fill your bag up for $10.Yes, vintage bags do stand the test of time. I like that tin bag. You have amazing taste!
In your collection, my favorites are #1 the Channel Bag. In my opinion, the classic Channel flap bag in black with gold hardware is the Holy Grail for a handbag collection. # 2 is the "Mohawk " bag. and # 3 is the gold, yellow, silver beaded bag. I'd love to see you style the Mohawk bag with your white Ganni boots for a Western vibe outfit. In my collection, my favorite vintage bag is a brown and cognac color Alligator skin envelope style bag .
Love this video!!! Vintage is very dear to my heart. I have the Dior clutch with the trotter print that folds in half - also worn by Carrie in SATC, I think in the episode when she opens the stock market. Your styling ideas are genius, especially the cowboy boots with the maxi dress and saddle bag. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Hey Karen. I have quite a few vintage bags. Several are beaded small ones like you have. I have a Miu Miu bag that is so lady like that I bought in Italy. It has that snap you hear every time you close it. I adore it and use it mostly in the winter.
I have many vintage things, inherited from my mother, grandmother (trintage LOL), and I take care of everything very well. My daughters and grandchildren will inherit everything I inherited.
Beautiful collection Karen. I love vintage bags! In fact I included it as an essential luxury item in my last video. I love the DIOR saddle bag so much. I’ve also grown very attached to my Gucci Boston bag. I loved it so much that I just bought another one in a different color. I have vintage LV bags too. Not all my vintage bags are Luxury brands though and I hold on to the non-luxury vintage bags and use them just as much as the Luxury ones. I think of my vintage bags as old friends that you can spend the day with and cherish the memories you’ve made with them. Thank you for sharing your collection!💖
GORGEOUS BAG COLLECTION!!! I love how excited you get when you show us your special collections like these Vintage bags. But I could never carry a bag so small... When I carry a clutch (like out to dinner or to a club), my full size handbag stays in the car and I just throw a few necessary items into the clutch (phone, bank card, Lipstick)! Out of all of those, my favorite has to be the Mohawk bag! It's the edgy vibe I love! 💕
I live for the Michael cameos 😆😆😆 your collection is incredible. I think vintage bags stand the test of time because they tend to be very well made like you said and they are very classic designs.
JC-the Mohawk bag is amazing. So is Her Majesty snakeskin structured bag. To me, Vintage is anything pre-my time. Maybe because we weren’t aware of those “of the moment” bags as kids or even those bags before our time, those bags don’t seem passé to us. IDK. But I agree-there’s something really special about vintage bags. Thanks for sharing your collection. Love it.
OK! One of my favorite videos of all yours. I absolutely love vintage bags. I only have one now, I foolishly gave away some when decluttering my closet. However, now I can take my time and replace them. Ok Karen, saw the picture of your wedding dress with a little metal bag and looked like sandals. I am formally(LOL)requesting a video showing what you wore on your weddings day!!! Hair, jewelry, shoes and, of course, your dress!! Also the venue, church reception décor, Yesss!! I am so excited to see you in your fashion vibe at that young age to where you have evolved today. OK, the white topshop dress on Instagram with the little structured straw purse...GORGEOUS!!! I'm just saying, TFS( :+ )
vintage bags stand the test of time because they are unique ( to me) and they fit with everything (as you said) - tx for this amazing video! x Micheline
Wow, this really takes me back to childhood when my much-older sister had bags like these! Though I buy vintage clothes on eBay, I never really thought to look for vintage bags. That said, I do repurpose cassette cases from the 80s, one of which would be small enough to be considered a "bag"!
Love your collection, I also have a great collection of vintage bags. I added some lately from my aunt in cocodrile, snake and the evening bags ! ❤️Your videos !
My take away is that really no bag 100% goes out of Style on its own, it’s more ( thanks to you) about how the bag is incorporated into the wearers preference now. I would compare it to an “eclectic “ styled room. You just happen to have the vision to marry the old with the now. Well done!
I ADORE your “Mohawk” bag....so so good. I think vintage bags stand the test of time is that they were more trendless styles as the fashion cycles were not as fast as they are now. I feel like even the most high end designers are more trend focused these days (unfortunately).
Two movies come to mind as I watch your reaction to the "Mohawk" purse and Michael dipping in and out of frame. "Get Him to the Greek" and "Real Genius" vibes for sure. Stroke the furry wall!
I have a weakness for purses as well. I'm glad you keep them because you can't get the same bag anymore. In the old days every female had white (basket) purse, gloves and shoes in spring.
Can you make a video about storing/organizing your lovely vintage bags to protect them? Also, a video on storing all your bags, shoes, belts. And one other question regarding your 3 colour rule: when your bag is multi-coloured, such as the bead bag you showed with the flame orange dress, is your bag considered one colour? I like the 3 colour rule but am not sure how to incorporate that with a colourful bag. Love all your videos. Thanks for publishing them!
Karen your videos give me life! So glad I found you and subscribed. I love vintage and have quite the collection. I recently found a turquoise beaded bag just like your green one at the Bellmore Flea Market for 5 bucks! If you and Michael are free on a nice (weatherwise) Sunday you really need to check this market out. It is held every Sunday from Apr- Dec in the parking lot of the Bellmore LIRR station. Vintage galore at killer prices. I scored a pair of new Alexander Wang Anouck boots for 10 dollars. I think I would just die if I saw you there lol
Lovely video and beautiful vintage handbags. I recently acquired two Dior double saddle bags. Both in excellent condition. Would you happen to know if the double saddle preceded the single saddle bag. Also have you done a hair video? Your natural hair is amazing.
I had a vintage Dior saddle bag in brown and tan logo print one of my nieces took it from my closet many years ago. She was told NOT to take it but she did when I later asked when she was going to return my bag she told me she had given it to one of her friends. Can you beat that I was furious now the bags are back in style...
Girl, you speak the truth about vintage- I found an Ann Taylor bag from possibly 25 years ago, yes I said Ann Taylor and it is nubuck made in Italy....what? It’s so beautiful and well made, seriously could not believe it.
Love these collaboration videos!! Karen, I would love your thoughts on the Celine Box Bag Medium? I'm thinking of buying it and would love to hear your thoughts :-)
I have it!! I love mine. Not worn it currently because of the season but I adore it's simplicity and feeling of being timeless because of that. Took a while getting used to opening it but I'm so used to it now.
I think vintage bags stand the test of time, especially in this day and age, because you don’t see them 12 times a day on your Instagram feed styled in exactly the same way. Vintage bags have so much soul and a story... not that manufactured feeling like new bags
The most interesting thing of vintage, is to found treasures! Love vintage forever!

Great collection! The thing I like most about your videos is how excited and happy you get about the pieces you love.
Vintage is the best. I've found myself thrifting so much lately and using fast fashion for basics only. It helps my wallet too.
I so love your saying (paraphrase) "I so love vintage bags. I don't go out searching for them; they somehow come and find me!"
Loved this. Loved seeing how you'd style these. And my 5 year old son loved every bag so so much!
I've always loved vintage bags! I used to sell them in my antique booth. Since I no longer have it, I still have a fun collection. You're right they stand the test of time! xo Beth

Woow that Ulla Johnson dress with the blue saddlebag blows it out of the water! It's that Vintage- Jazz Age style that looks so amazing on you!

Love your bags. Love your style. Wish id kept my Grans, and some of my Mums bags. Just love love love vintage
😁
What a great collection you have. They are all gorgeous.

Loved this video tfs 😊 I don’t own any vintage bags but your structured “queen bags” were my favs
Yes to vintage!
Bloody brilliant Karen, loved every minute! ✨❤️❤️❤️❤️💕💛💚💜👠👠👏👏👏
Lol at Her Majesty The Queen! I have a few of those!
Love your collection, I also have a great collection of vintage bags. I added some lately from my aunt in cocodrile, snake and the evening bags ! ❤️Your videos !
it’s already 4:40 AM here, but who needs sleep when Karen uploads?
There are no words to say how much l ❤️❤️❤️❤️ that Dior bag. 🤗🇨🇦
Such a gorgeous collection! Your Jumbo black caviar with silver hardware is on my wish list for the same reasons that you stated! Lovely! HIDUPZ
Absolutely loved your collection,Karen! The tin one....OMG!!! But I just can't keep a bag that my phone doesn't fit in)) What do you do in this case?)
Lovvveeee the tin bag! very unique and can pair beautifully with anything. Would love to find one!
Loved this video!! I have the vintage Dior seen on sex and the city from the "To Market To Market " episode. Love it!!
Your video is gold! Thanks for sharing your fabulous vintage finds!!! : )
My take away is that really no bag 100% goes out of Style on its own, it’s more ( thanks to you) about how the bag is incorporated into the wearers preference now. I would compare it to an “eclectic “ styled room. You just happen to have the vision to marry the old with the now. Well done!
thank you!
I ❤️ Vintage bags ❗️
I love your bag collection !
Michael's expression of “oops”! at 12.04 priceless! Also would you consider doing a video on how you choose colours together in outfits? 👏👏👏😂💞💞💓✨
Vintage bags are like aged French wine- they just get better and are not the merlot of the moment
Can you do a video on clothing/fashion storage hacks? Also can you do a video on clothing/fashion care hacks? I am totally in love with your videos.
New subbie! Absolutely breaktakinggg collection! TFS!!
Love your gorgeous bag collection
Love this so much!!!❤️❤️❤️
Love, love, love!!!
I love your passion!
Finally!!! Vintage jewellery next please
"Feelavision....you would stroking it too"....lol. Beautiful collection.
Love you as always. Love the wedding photo of you and Michae as well..beautiful ❤

Love this!! I’m obsessed
I'm laughing at Michael walking through. 😂 I love vintage bags. Love your collection.
My fav vintage bags are my Navy Gucci Kelly and Hermès Herbag.
Karen your videos give me life! So glad I found you and subscribed. I love vintage and have quite the collection. I recently found a turquoise beaded bag just like your green one at the Bellmore Flea Market for 5 bucks! Lovely video and beautiful vintage handbags. I recently acquired two Dior double saddle bags. Both in excellent condition. Would you happen to know if the double saddle preceded the single saddle bag. Also have you done a hair video? Your natural hair is amazing.
HEY LOVE, GREAT VIDEO, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED YOUR COLLECTION AND STYLE, I ADORE VINTAGE ANYTHING 🤣🤣YASSSSS HONEY 🙋🏾🌸🦋💛
OOOH! A Michael sighting! He needs more cameos in your vids... maybe an OOTD?
Every time I see the Mohawk bag it reminds me of The Monster Book of Monsters from Harry Potter :)
😍😍 that evening bag is fire 🔥🔥
Love these collaboration videos!! Karen, I would love your thoughts on the Celine Box Bag Medium? I'm thinking of buying it and would love to hear your thoughts :-)
I have it!! I love mine. Not worn it currently because of the season but I adore it's simplicity and feeling of being timeless because of that. Took a while getting used to opening it but I'm so used to it now.
Would love a review video of it when the weather cools off please !! :-)
