HIIII guys!!! unfortunately this is going to be the last vlog of the year instead of posting one more!!! :( I had a bit of a sad girl xmas and I just hate the vlog I filmed & would rather come back refreshed & better than ever in the new year! I hope you all had the most amazing christmas, a very happy New Years, and I'll see you in 2024 ❤❤
Love yourself first. Surround yourself with what makes you happy and take time for yourself. Btw - the drapes are so lush!! It’s so clean and ups the vibes in the room. Cheers to 2024 and all the growth and goals we will crush! 😊
I am a regular blood donor (in Ontario, too) and here are my main tips: - Make sure to read the pamphlet, eat a meal, and drink at least the 500mL prior to donating - Know that the needle feels like a warm scratch, not like an immunization (I personally prefer it). After it goes in you can’t feel it anymore. - If you feel faint/dizzy/nauseous, don’t panic! Just let a nurse know and they’ll tip you back and cool your forehead. It will pass. - If you bleed slowly, you can ask for a stress ball/squishy to keep things moving so you can fill the bag (I’m a slow bleeder, and this works every time!) - After make sure to drink some juice and have some snacks, they provide it all! - You may have symptoms after donating. Most people don’t, but I always experience fatigue and mild nausea afterwards. Then I feel fine. - Usually it’s all done in an hour, but a chunk of that is waiting to go through the paperwork, get your hemoglobin (finger prick, super quick) and temp tested, and wait afterwards to make sure you feel fine to go home. After your appointment (usually with 48 hours) you will also be able to access your stats through the app. It’s fun to track and try to beat your previous “records”!
Drapes are fabulous!!! Donating Blood: make sure you are very hydrated. If not it will be harder for your blood to flow. Probably count on being there for at least an hour because once you give blood, they usually keep you there and like a wait in room to make sure you don’t faint or anything and give you a little snack. Happy New Year. 🎉
I love love love the drapes! They are so beautiful and ELEGANT. And now you have some privacy, so that’s nice too. Sarah seems so nice. I’m so glad you’ve made some friends there back in Toronto. Now you’re going to have family and friends in your new old city. Merry Christmas sweet Tara!
Merry Christmas Tara…just wanted to reassure you, as someone who worked for many years in a blood donation center, that it is super easy and very fast to donate blood. The longest part is the paperwork! Good for you both for doing it. I have had the need many times over the last couple of years to need a blood transfusion and am always grateful for those who take time to donate. I use to donate both blood and platelets as often as I was allowed, but sadly, once you have certain medical issues, you are no longer eligible to donate. Any, that was longwinded! Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family🎄
I have donated blood 19 times. It becomes easier as you do it more often (you'll realize which arm is easier to get blood from etc). Drink lots of water leading up to the donation and eat well. Also they ask you to fill out a questionnaire before hand which helps speed up the process when you are there to see if you qualify, sometimes travelling or certain medications can disqualify you from donating. Either way, it's a really nice thought and thing to do!
Donating blood is great you really feel refreshed ❤❤ they usually give little snack after so you dont get dizzy but most people dont even get any dizzy.
Wow the curtains are gorgeous, definitely transforms the room in a way you didn’t know you needed, love when that happens!!! I feel like you need a big custom painting of Brady to go above your mirror and tree area hung at a good view from the balcony part of the stairs I think you’d love seeing her every day. the set up of your house is so unique and cool, i’ve loved seeing all your finishing touches on the place it looks beautiful (I can’t wait to see what you and Mitch have planned for the garden/back patio). happy holidays ❤🎄🍾 im excited for your new content coming next year!! I watch every video and just love seeing your life and whatever you are interested in.
I like a hit shower to help wake up and feel more energized. I wish you and your family and friends a very merry and safe Christmas and a Happy and healthy New Year.
As a cancer patient thank you so much for donating blood It is so important! Love yours and Sarah’s friendship and I’m sorry you had a tough Christmas next year‘s surely be better.
I have donated blood before, but I don't know if it's the same everywhere. I just went in, had a consult and the first rime they take a lottle to test for some blood transmitted deseases. Everytime tou get a consult and a list of questions. Full blood takes about 20minutes to give and they give you free drinks and snacks, because you have to drink and eat something. You can also give plasma but that takes longer I think about 40 minutes? In the end I gave blood 6 times and I stopped because it took too long with me (your blood has to come out at a certain speed) and I discovered I'm pretty hard to draw blood from. So it wasn't for me unfortunately, cause I did love the idea of doing something good in this way and I alwasy went with my mom which was really nice.
Wow the curtains look amazing! Love them! Also you are Sarah are so sweet! I’m so glad you met. ❤you can tell it’s going to be a long lasting friendship
The curtains are absolutely amazing and definitely completes the room. I totally agree that the curtains make the room way bigger and taller. Can’t wait to see them when they open in the middle to see the difference to them opening to one side. In real time Merry Christmas Tara. Hope your Christmas and new year is amazing and full of happiness and joy with family, friends, and Brady kisses and snuggles.
So grateful you're donating blood! Every drop is needed this season!!❄I just donated last month and received a message last night saying my blood was used and I helped save a life!! So gratifying💞💞It's a super simple thing to do and so easy, just 30 min and you are done!!
Merry Christmas Tara! I used to work for American Red Cross as a phlebotomist. I loved drawing blood but I hated working for the Red Cross. That said, plan on at least 30 mins. They will check your vitals and iron levels plus a bunch of health questions. Go HYDRATED! If they can’t fill the bag bc you faint or stop bleeding whatever blood you did give will be thrown away if it’s less than what they need. It’s a devastating loss! Just relax, bring your kindle and you’ll be fine! ❤
yay so glad you’re donating blood! I go to the bloor location and everyone is always so lovely! you go through a quick screening, sit for 15 minutes while donating and then get free snacks 😊 super easy way to give back! I love going!
The curtains look amazing!! Always love watching your vlogs bc it feels like I'm just catching up with a friend ♡ Hope you have a wonderful rest of the year and a happy New Years -- definitely take as long as you need to come back! ♡ Donating blood is such a great way to help the community -- they say you can save 3 lives when you donate. To prepare for your appointment, I would definitely recommend eating iron rich foods 24-48 hours and staying hydrated beforehand. When you walk into clinic, they will prick your finger and check if your blood oxygen (hemoglobin) levels are within range. If you have anemia or are borderline for this number, they may not let you donate. If you are on the low end of the accepted range, you may feel more symptoms afterwards... They will provide cookies, orange juice, water, and other snacks after you finish! Hope this helps! - Joslyn
I've donated blood 16 times (in Quebec). If the process is similar, you answer a quick questionnaire on an iPad before meeting your nurse and going over it. You get to pick which arm you want to donate from, I suggest your non-dominant hand. Then the nurse puts the needle in, you shouldn't be able to feel it once it's in there. The actual donation takes 6 to 15 minutes. Drink lots of water before and after and have a salty snack! Best way not to get a big bruise for me has been to put lots of pressure on the site for 3-5 minutes after it's done, and not to Ben my arm for 1-2 hours.
merry christmas eve tara!!! seeing you post today truly made my day ❤ also, the gifts sarah gave you was so cute and thoughtful! i really love the customized book club sweater and the socks - like what? she did such a good job 😊
Miss Tara, I'm so glad you got your drapes, they look fantastic and elegant! I feel better knowing that you have more privacy from the houses in the back, it was always my first thought that people could be watching, being a woman, I think of these things, girls gotta stick together !!! The drapes surely make that wall, they look gorgeous! 😊😊😊 ♪♫♪ Merry Christmas and may your have a Happy and Prosperous 2024 ♪♫♪
I used to donate blood whenever I could. I never had an issue with needles and the process was always quick and easy, just expect to have to sit around for about 10-15 minutes afterwards. I randomly developed storage iron deficiency about a year ago, so I can’t donate anymore. I vaguely remember in you having low iron too, so make sure you’re taking your supplement consistently beforehand if you still take one. They’ll almost definitely take your iron level beforehand and won’t let you donate if your level is too low.
Donating blood is just like getting an IV. It's no big deal just eat well and high iron before you go. Also get a snack right after. How long it takes to actually get the blood varies per person. I am a red head and it happens very fast, my niece who is not takes 15 min to my 5 min. But plan on sitting there for a bit after especially with you having low iron it may make you a bit woozy. Back before I was on meds I use to give every 6 weeks as I am O+ and universal donor. Love the curtains a great look to the room. Shows off the height for sure. Great choice.
I’ve given blood quite a few times and it’s not that bad. The nurses are very good at what they do. I have a problem with my iron levels so I can only give blood once or twice a year. Drink heaps of water the night & before and day of. Also have a high sodium meal the night before. Not sure why but I always get a message from the donor Centre the day before and this is in their instructions so I just do what they say.
It is such a difference. I like it just not the transparency. I am worried they are not sun proof because mines turned lighter where the sun hits. Maybe if u can add a white blackout curtain behind it it will help out. But tbh it looks amazing!
Merry Christmas! Thank u for donating blood. Because of people who have donated, it have saved me... I have had multiple blood transfusions and it's all because of people like u that donate 😊 thank u!
Merry Christmas Tara to you and your wonderful family (Brady too). I know you'll have a fabulous time as your family always does when together. Stay warm and cozy, hugs and love... ☃️🎄🎅🤶🦌🎶⭐👼🤗❤️
Merry Christmas!! The curtains - or do we call them drapes because they’re so loooong?! look beautiful!! I saw them on Instagram just before watching this vlog. I gave blood many times in my 20’s and I think the Red Cross people (in the US) are amazing at it! Never a problem. But do drink the juice after, especially because you’re so petite.
