    • @MoltenMusicTech
      @MoltenMusicTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi - that's a very open ended question and it all comes down to what you want to do. Are you looking for something that will generate music for you? Are you looking to record sound or play notes? Are you looking to arrange music, compose, or do you want to use loops? Are you hoping to record live instruments or just use virtual ones? If you are are looking for simple meditative generation then honestly a phone or ipad app would be a better place to look. If you want to start recording your own music then you need to start looking at DAW or music production software. Most DAWs are a blank page waiting for you to start making and recording your music. Many have tools and instruments that will help you with that. There are dozens of videos out there on getting started with computer music - nothing on your particular laptop but that shouldn't be important. Start absorbing some of those videos, check out some software and have a think about how you are going to make your music. It's a journey, but a fun one.

      Depends on your audio interface. As you can see in the video I was using the MOTU M4 and was able to play the drums on the screen in real-enough time for it not to be silly - so that would be around 128 samples or under 10 ms.

    • @MoltenMusicTech
      @MoltenMusicTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes and no. It’s just a screen so you can drag windows across it but it will mess with the dual resolution as they are different. Daws that have multiple windows fair better so it will be better with fl studio than with Ableton. I did a review of this in Sound On Sound magazine - you might want to check that out.

    Does anyone know how this guy is using the touch screen to play his drum pads? Is that a feature within spitfire audio, within Bitwig, or if it's a standalone thing? I just got a zenbook duo and am running Reaper and would like to use a similar setup!

      The drum pads are in Bitwig - Bitwig is very touch friendly. You'll need an audio interface that give you low enough latency for it to feel right.

    Did you notice any audio latency issues? I have a macbook pro right now, but the interface on this laptop makes a lot of sense. I can also imagine how cool the workflow would be even for video production.

      I think you can see that I was playing with nicely low latency. Provided that you set up the laptop correctly and use an audio interface then latency shouldn't be a problem.

      @@MoltenMusicTech Thanks for the reply! I was more so worried about pops and clicks, but it seems like you had a pretty nice experience with it. I use an apollo twin duo as an audio interface so latency should not be that much of an issue. I will definitely keep this laptop on my radar. It's time to upgrade my laptop.

      @@Josh_G Remember: Apple's Core audio is only better for producers when you are not using an interface, Windows ASIO really sucks, but that is completely solved when you use an interface!

    Hi ,I am about to buy a laptop and this is in top of my list, can you please tell me a few things.. 1) does the system stay silent in heavy usage?
    2) does the 2nd screen integrate so well with other daw like cubase or Ableton? It looks so smooth in this video
    3) did you load a very heavy session in it and see how it performs

      1. No, gets loud
      2. Pretty good. You can have separate windows in each with Cubase. In Ableton you have to stretch across it so you’ll get the break line across something….

      3. Yes but the stability depends on you turning off turbo mode. I reviewed this for soundonsound.com and you can read all about it there.

      @@MoltenMusicTech thank you so much, that was a very elaborate review on soundonsound. It was exactly the review for this laptop I was looking for.
