When Horst has this reaction to drinking the whisky, I know I am going to be in for a treat, And the whisky didn’t disappoint at all. Thanks Horst for your videos, you and Ben are a blessing.
I bought a bottle after watching this review and I have to say you are bang on, although I can't taste as deeply as you can I am really enjoying this whisky. Great review!
I prefer the 10 year old to the 12.. it's not as processed. The 12 is quite a bit smoother and more mellow but it seems a bit forced, perhaps because of the sherry casks.. the 10 year old is more woody and the alcohol seems to be more lively by comparison
This is the best price whisky of Aberlour in my opinion. Non chill filtered and higher APV. I like the 18yo best but meanwhile you only get 0,5 l , so the 12yo no-chill takes the cake!
I know adding ice to scotch is sacrilege, but where I live room temp is 75F which is way to hot to drink scotch. I want to slightly chill the scotch and add a few drops of water, so why can’t I add 1/2 ice cube to do double duty?
It’s your whisky, you decide how you drink it and we shouldn’t judge that. ‘’The best whiskey is the whiskey you like to drink and the best way to drink it is how you prefer it.’’
I'm relative new to the world of whiskey, started with the honey liqueurs lol. Found your reviews to be very helpful and they made me want to taste more 👌 I'm drinking this 12yo right now and you were spot on, it's very nice and tasteful. Must say my bottle did had a better way to get it open, there now is an lip to easy open the seal (maybe they listened to you Horst 😉) Please continue your reviews and Greetings from die Niederlanden.
+Yasser Al_bana (T) about 70 dollars down in South Florida. To be honest I didn't like it. This whisky has a musty taste to it, which I don't care about.
i pref the 12 y.o. D C - it matured partly in sherry and partly in bourbon casks - later on, these 2 got mixed together. its very nicely to drink and one of my favourites :)
Hello, this is the first whisky neat i've tasted 4 years ago because that's what my father drinks.and in my opinion i really didn't like it,REALLY NOT and still don't!!!as a matter of fact after this first experience i totally abandonned whisky until i 2 years latter first tasted the Hibiki 17,and from this moment i became a casual whisky drinker.BUT every whiskies i've tasted ever since under 70 euros(except Suntory) i just can't drink them.even once i was invited with my dad at his friend's home to drink whiskies, and that guy knows a lot more than me and my dad on the matter.he has a lot of bottle but nothing above 150euro.and he suggested that we do a blind tasting for fun.personally i can't really distinguish every note in a whisky except peat, oak and if it's fruity or not,but he was particularly surprised that i was able to say which whisky was cheap,i mean every of his whisky except the Suntory under 70euro i just couldn't drink them!!!the ones he had that i really liked was the Hibiki 12 and Yoichi 10.And Aberlour 12 and 15 to the trash!!!Glenfiddich 12 not so much either.a year after i bought a bottle of Hakushu distiller's reserve and liked it very much so did my father,he even highly prefered the Hakushu distiller's reserve to the Aberlour by far!!!! BUT that is simply my opinion as a newbie casual whisky drinker. and i really like all your english video Horst,it's really helping me to know what try next. keep up the good work!!! :) ps: i'd really like you to make a video tasting The Macallan Rare Cask(i didn't see it in your english video) i'm really interested in this whisky but i've read comment on internet and i'm wondering if it's worth the money? thanks.
I don't know who I enjoy more, you or Ralfy, but I do enjoy both of your videos.Today is my first bottle of Aberlour 12. Thanks

How does it fare against the standard 12YO bottling ? I really like the 12YO.
Longer finish, more intense taste, oilier mouthfeel
Raymond Luijbregts Thanks. I've never seen this version here though :(
It's a lovely bottle non the less
