Great instruction video on this replacement. Thanks a million for taking the time to make this. I have a 2007 Sonata and this rear window regulator just failed for no reason. Could not replace it without this video. Thanks again
Great video. I have the same car and issue. Very helpful on getting started. The biggest challenge for me was removing the glass from the regulator. I ended up having to break the plastic holder. No way around it. I had to purchase a rivet gun to install some pieces that came with the panel. I also couldn’t save the speaker because it was also held in place with a rivet screw. The newer regulator doesn’t come with a screw to hold the glass. You basically snap it in and no screw and glue needed to hold it in place.
I just broke the plastic piece that held the window into it. I went to the hardware store and got some screws with wing nuts and locktite to put the speaker back in
Is there a way I can just have the window permanently all the way up? Meaning, can I take the door panel off & easily set/wedge the window in the up position?
Hello Great video! It was hell getting on off, i had to go up and over the plastic peice closest to me and it popped off. Wish i had it on video.. Im almost done with mine Problem im having: getting the glass to connect back onto the plastic piece?- 3/5 i added a box underneath and pushed the glass down until it connected. Thanks!!
Great video the only question I have is with the part you had to break to release the window for the regulator. Coult you if you still have the pieces kind of go over it again and show a little more of what you had to do...Mine is not separating and I'm afraid I'm going to break the glass...I was going to wait until the other regulator cam and then look at it but if you can help if would be great. Thank you.
Hey Jeff, Thanks for reaching out. I appreciate your feedback. However I no longer have the car anymore. I do remember that I used a flathead screwdriver and regular sized hammer to separate that tab that keeps the window in the regulator.
@JeffreyPlummer-m2f i remember when I did that repair. I was super scared that I was gonna break the window. But I didn't hit it real heavy when I was in the process to doing that separation
Mr Jones great video. My question when you install the new regulator, does the plastic peace with the three fingers need to be used? I thought I saw a video where it was not needed.
Hi Thanks for the video. I am working on my 07 Sonata (same window as your video) so this is useful. One question since you had that window plastic piece holding the glass that broke off - will my new regulator come with its own plastic piece if I break mine as well while taking out? or do I need to buy separate part for that? Thanks in advance for your help and videos.
I'm having trouble getting the glass to release from the regulator. Your video showed that you had trouble but not the solution. Can you give a couple hints on how to make that release?
Hello Vicki, You have to lower the window down a little bit. Maybe about halfway or so. And what you're see is a screw. You have take that screw out. And once the screw is out. You will need a flathead screwdriver 🪛 preferably a wide one if you have one. And you have punch out the area out where the screw was and it will release from the regulator
Hello how do i get that part of the cord that i will have to fish throw the regulator apart i can’t figure it out . I am using a flat head .. but i feel like i am about to break it
How you doing mr. Law Jones was curious to know what kind of fuel mileage are you getting on your 98 suburban since the about to do the same thing on my 99 suburban
What's going on Aaron. Thanks for reaching out. Greatly appreciated. Since I did the swap on my suburban I get 14 mpg with the a/c on or off and I get 19.5 mpg on the highway. And those are real numbers on my suburban

Mine is messed up too I can’t get it off because I can’t force the glass down to find the two 10 mm bolts to loosen
I am having same problem. Can't open beacause of window glass

@@MrMetacomGaming good job. I tried drilling out the rivet screw but drill bit kept slipping.
