Someone has to start thinking of a complete redesign for cabs/sleepers. It's always the same thing every year. Come on engineers ... do your job. P.S. ... touchscreens and backup cams should start to be standard. It's almost 2022. Lol.
@@MKRN98 Semis don't really need cameras anyway. Much better to put a camera on a rigid chassis truck. Much faster to have a camera to see when you're about 20cm from the coupling so you can go out and check the height and then attach than to go out and check 5 times because you can't see the front of the trailer nor the drawbar. And sometimes the drawbars are slightly urned to either side (at least on ours since our drawbars are usually fixed to our front axles which acts as a dolly), so it's even harder to get it right.
Hey! I run a Mack Anthem, little 390 MP7... BUT! I have driven them all, and I am tellin ya this Mack is the best pullin quietest truck I ever drove. The Mack has the mechanical engine brake the works fantastic, Volvo and Mack share a lot but what is the Volvo engine brake like? It is an exhaust flapper isn't it, not Jake like? I usually never havs to use the brake pedal with the Mack. How does the Volvo compare, c'mon??
Mack's used to be great trucks, the b, the f and the r models. New macks are junk! Cheap wiring and cheap plastic chrome interiors. Plus you can't see when you're backing up, you have to open the door and stand on the step to see
Is it possible to get this truck in a 13 speed or 18 speed without this I shift rookie transmission. I bought this truck in 1999. It was a VNL 770 with a 550 Cat and a 13 speed Eaton Fuller Transmission. The truck was amazing. Now I really can’t stand these I shifts. They are annoying at best. It takes all the fun away from driving a truck. This is not adding to any safety, as you can see all the accidents on the road.
It's funny how Americans are 15 years behind Europeans when it comes to the dashboard. The American ones give you so much useless information that is a flick of a switch and a press of a button away on a European dash. At least the Volvos are this way. Since 2012 the European Volvo dashboard has consisted of 2 analogue gauges (the rev-counter is within the speedometer), a small display between them and two screens, on which the left shows the fuel gauge, temperature and AdBlue (LNG, diesel and AdBlue if it's a gas truck). The right one shows whatever information you desire. Load indicator, turbo pressure, tachograph, air pressure, fuel consumption, oil temperature, and much more. You don't need to have 20 billion gauges on places where you can have additional storage space, buttons or whatever.
That's because the interior of the VNL 860 is the same as the old VNL 780, but the 760 got the new interior. Volvo should have updated the interior of the 860 when they introduced the 760 in 2018. The 860 is the old 780, but they changed the hood and dash, nothing else.

I'd give a kidney to become a trucker in the US and drive this beautiful piece of machinery

cabobers could be an answer to this redesign.
No, sorry. Too much distraction, especially in the semi. I'd definitely prefer physical buttons over some screens

Looks cheap inside. The 2022 VLN 760 is much nicer
Yes, smaller fridge and everything else is nicer to you?
