    I own a 2016 Fiat 500x.... The one you tested is super bare bones. You might want to mention that. Mine does not have any of the issues you complained about. Be clearer on your reviews.

    I have two 2016 models. One of them AWD. I love both. Been mine for 6 years. Never a mechanical failure. It is one of those cars that you start to love because them never fail and always bring you to your destiny. That's important.

    In all honesty this sounded like a kid whining because it didn’t fit his preference. I don’t own one of these but to make it sound that bad is kind of silly. Didn’t sound like anything was actually wrong with the car and minor wear and tear is normal but actually looked pretty good for it’s age. One thing I notice about Most Mini Coopers and now Fiats is the owners tend to really take care of them so that’s a good thing if your gonna buy a car. With all that said, thanks for the review.

    I happen to love my Fiat 500X Trekking. 78k with no problems. Performance is great for what I need. My only problem is although it’s under the Chrysler tag; most will not work on them and the Fiat dealerships are shrinking in numbers 😟

      It’s a 2016 2.4L, 9 speed automatic. Too bad they didn’t make them with manual option.

      Had the Trekking myself. One of my favorite cars I ever had. Only reason I still don't have it, is COVID happened, I lost my job and couldn't keep up on the car payments.

    With the steering wheel wear and key wear, 90,000 miles on the clock is considered a fairly high mileage for a five year old car where I come from. Yes, cars do go for more miles than they used to and 40 years ago a 90,000 mile European car at only a few years old would be an ex-fleet car and on sale more cheaply than a low mileage privately owned car, and if you take your chances with the ex-fleet car, you should know the risks. The highest miles used car I bought was a 70,000 mile five year old Mercedes-Benz. I’d never buy a cheaper car with that kind of miles on it and not expect wear. Thank goodness Mercedes-Benz separated from Chrysler!

    get the AWD model.. keep it in "manual" mode. never had issues. And is actual a peppy daily. and handles well. The ZF 9HP transmission is notorious for harder shifts in colder climates.. and this is true.. once it's warmed up no issues. very smooth.

    Ive watched 8 reviews on the 500x, yours is the first negative. Sure a corolla is more reliable, but honestly look at one. In fact good looking and Toyota should never be used in the same sentence!

    “Down the road your setting yourself up” well tell me , what was wrong with this car? I didn’t hear you mention one mechanical failure at 100k miles because there were none. A worn steering wheel won’t leave me on the side of the road. The key fob u can very obviously see has Been kicked dropped and thrown all over. This was a very harsh, petty, attention seeking video. Also, you don’t even need the key it’s keyless enter n go. Just ugh

  • @Aqualight.33
    @Aqualight.33 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I have the 2016 500X Trekking Plus and I love it! The interior quality is much better than the reviewed model. I previously had the 500 Lounge in a manual, which I prefer, but manual was only available in the base model in Canada for the 500x. Since this was my first automatic car I did notice the gear shifting when I bought it, but I don't notice it anymore after a computer upgrade. Both Fiats I've owned have been fun to drive & reliable. My only complaint is having to deal with Dodge for warranty work. When Fiat had their own dealership and mechanics they were awesome to deal with. Dodge mechanics don't seem to know as much about Fiats, and the sales staff don't understand that Fiat and Dodge owners are very different & want different things. It's bad enough that I'm considering another brand to get better service when it's time for my next car. Too bad, because I really like these cars.

    The critic has a responsibility to evaluate beyond their own limited view. The comments here and on other sites suggest that you were more interested in a sensational 'bad' review than actually reviewing the car.

    The small screen complaint, is hilarious to me, because I hated how big it was, compared to a typical radio from the cars I grew up driving. I don't need a backup cam and I'd prefer proper buttons, when I navigate my radio/settings, because I can do that, without having to take my eyes off the road.

    I am on my second Fiat 500x, and I must say that i'm impressed on how different this model is in the US vs Chile. I have a 1.4l Turbo with a 6 speed manual transmition, dual zone climate control, spare tire, a much bigger screen with no backup camera, foglights, electric lumbar adjustments, etc.
    The only thing I must agree with you are the seats, they are hard as a rock, and the headrest can give you head trauma if you rest on it for five minutes!

Here is almost nothing about how this car drives, I just know that Toyotas is from a driving point of view is - a vegetable, so if these cars are used as a prototype..... Perhaps you just need Chinese vegetable cars with nice huge Android screens, fake leather, huge pathos, etc., and without anything else...

    I own a 2017 Fiat Abarth in addition to an Acura and Porsche. I bought the Abarth as a fun car during Covid that I would have for just a little while and then get rid of before problems started, 4 years later the car has 80k and has been flawless. Cheap interior parts yes, but mechanically these get a worse rap than they deserve. Mine has been problem free (and it’s an automatic) I think there is a certain style about these cars that appeals to some and makes people want to take a chance on them.

  • @heyyougonnafinishthat8658
    @heyyougonnafinishthat8658 3 ปีที่แล้ว +18

    I agreed with everything you say about the car, until I test drove one with a 6-speed manual and the same engine set up as the Abarth. That automatic completely ruins the car from almost 6 years ago, but I understand the new ones are a lot better.

    You can honestly do quite worse than the 500X. I’d say the 500L is WAY worse, with awkward ugly-duckling styling, a terrible transmission, wonky handling, poor use of space, and the exact same awful build quality and fit & finish. This looks like a base model 500X, and yeah those 9-speeds are notorious for rough shifts when they’re not warmed up. At least it looks pretty cool. 🤷‍♂️

    The later model 500x has a totally different drivetrain. I really, really enjoyed driving the turbo awd 3 cylinder. Plenty of go, transmission was well programmed and engaging. Neat vehicle. I think the 9speed ruined this earlier drivetrain model you reviewed. It's great to see an auto manufacture make a quick change for the better. Otherwise, I believe fiat makes very good vehicles! The only real comparable vehicles to this platform are the not so fun and unengaging Mazda CX-3, the far nicer and ridiculously fun Mini Countryman (2017 and newer because screw the older models with french engines), and I don't know, the WRX? lol. I'll gladly take one of these 500x's with the newer drivetrain over the renegade any day.
