- India enjoyed incredible success at Miss Universe in the 1990s and 2000s, and that run of success may be revived with their next campaign. Adline Castelino has generated considerable pre-pageant buzz, with many watchers, myself included, believing she may be the complete package to win it all.

@@novdusday5059 I won't call it a powerhouse but definitely a record holder cuz India has records in pagentries which no other countries has but when it comes to being a powerhouse modelling and paegentries are not supported in India like it is in Philippines or Venezuela. When it comes to be a powerhouse these are the countries which have to be called the powerhouses. But in fact paegentries are so dang popular in these countries they don't have the records which India have.

Of course Venezuela & USA are the strongest when it comes to pageantry...
@@novdusday5059 Not only among Asian countries it has record which even any other country in the whole world don't have. I mean India just have 2 MU title but both the time when India won MU India also MW. India has won both MU and MW in the same year twice whilst Paegentry centric countries like Venezuela, Phillipines, USA are still not able to do that.
As of Miss World India has the highest no. Miss World titles with Venezuela. And highest no of miss Super national titles.
We all know the golden year of Indian Paegentry 2000 the unmatched record
winning all three major titles. MU, MW, Miss Asia pacific in same freaking year.
As I should say every paegentry follower might not know each and every winner but would definitely know Aishwarya and Sushmita Sen. I mean Phillipines have had 5 MU winners and no one is as popular in the country as Sushmita Sen of India.

She has been placed the highest since 2002 and that’s quite an achievement and a mark of ending the dry spell for India…. India is also consciously changing the social appeal of its contestants and has focused on developing intellectual and philanthropic skill sets for its contestants. They now are involved in and own a lot of social welfare projects which is actual substance to their advocacy! I hope we get our 3rd crown soon

She is really stunning.. supermodel material. I’ve always found it strange Brazilian models make it in the west with similar looks but Indians don’t? Baffling. Only Yasmeen Ghauri made it in the 90s, but the American media didn’t pay much attention to her though she was a bonafide supermodel. Many do not know her name.
Brazilian models are mostly white. They do not look like Indian ones.

Adeline set the pageant world on fire with her elegance and intelligent and thoughtful answers; very much like the greats that have come before her. She has a singular beauty and her elegant and thoughtful answers have her poised for a high placement and a potential crown. This year the pageant is filled with beautiful and intelligent women; much like the surprise victory of Miss USA this year I think we are going to have a dark horse stun the pageant world on finals night. The IMG era has produced some incredible title holders and this year will be no different. From a purely beauty perspective Miss India holds her own with the heavyweights this season; some new titleholders that have caught my eye are the lovely Miss Peru, the breathtaking Miss Jamaica, and of course the powerhouse countries of Thailand and the Philippines. Miss Australia is generating buzz with the fresh-faced beauty and Miss Chile is beginning to move up the ranks as we come closer to coronation night. My own countries delegate Miss USA has been placing solidly in the poles, my only caution with Alicia (spelling?) is her ability to compete in the evening gown round. She speaks well and earnestly and has a very "American" walk for swim; it does not have the usual international polish but she seems to hold her own. Much like our title holders in 16, 17, and 19 (Sarah Rose Summer placed in the top 20 after the controversy dealing with the purported mocking of Miss Vietnam and Cambodia in 18) this is where the American's fall short. If Miss USA needs to wear Sherry Hill the Miss USA/Universe sponsor I believe we may run into another loss. Miss USA 2012 who was crowned Miss Universe (Olivia Culpa) did not wear Sherry Hill and Olivia Jordan the 2nd runner up in 2015 again did not wear Sherry Hill. Our delegate while lovely and intelligent lacks the grooming and the polish of the other powerhouse countries. Here's hoping that Miss USA gets to compete beyond gown; however this year it will be even more difficult as the pack is full of accomplished, polished, and breathtakingly beautiful women. As we wrap up a year that most of us will never forget let me take a moment to thank you for providing me and your subscribers a salve in this painful and difficult world. Your thoughtful, intelligent and most importantly kind reporting on past and future pageant activities has provided many of us relief from the pressures of our current world and gave us hope and always thought provoking programing. 2021 is going to the year that your subscribers increase by leaps and bounds and those of us in the know will just sit back and smile knowing we were there in the beginning. Finally to your subscribers - I personally love being part of this group of fans and my wish for you is that God Blesses you this season and that any hardships you faced in 2020 melt away and you come away healthy and happy in 2021. And of course, thanks again for the positive reinforcement - I too agree Adline has the potential to win it all, though there’s obviously more time for other favourites to emerge, and we’re seeing new queens being crowned virtually every day. Yes, Miss USA was a pleasant surprise, and definitely has a real shot. I’m personally against a sponsor such as Sherry Hill having such influence over how the contestants in Miss USA present themselves on finals night. I think a delegate’s gown choice is a real reflection of her style, individuality and purpose. Having no option but to pick something pre-made off a rack prevents that uniqueness from shining through. I get it, if a company is throwing a lot of sponsorship money at you it’s hard to turn down their requests, but as someone who works in marketing you also need to ensure you maintain your brand positioning. I truly hope Mouawad stays as crown sponsor for some time - it’d be a shame if the crown switches AGAIN. As much as I’m obviously a huge MU fan I think they should take a leaf out of Miss World’s book and keep some things sacred, such as the crown. Anyway, things are definitely hotting up for the next MU - I want to take this opportunity to again than you for your sincere and constant support. It really means the world to me - I too hope I continue to reach more and more people, and if by chance that happens I’ll always remember those who supported me from the beginning! When NBC took over from CBS as co-owner of MUO, India started the inconsistent placements at MU, even at IMG era.

India's inconsistent placement started in 2008 when the mainwinner of FMI was sent to MW and 1ru to MU unlike traditionally where the winner went to MU and 1ru to MW like in the 90s. India was unplaced only thrice bw 1990-2007(which is still a record not beaten by any Asian country) and then only placed four times bw 2008-19 so it's quite evident muo was pissed.
