    Thank you for the video, the first crystal I bought was a sodalite and I really like holding it. But it shook me quite a little to learn that it might be potentially toxic, so I use rice to cleanse it, but have had to wash it off ( I dried it off immediately with tissue though) because it made the surface somewhat sticky, which is essentially what I don't want to do. I did wash my hands off after handling the stone every time I touched it though.

    I see a lot of people putting stones in their bathtub with them. I’ve started placing them along the bathtub ledge but not in the water. And only quartz’s because they are supposed to have the proper mohs hardness. Do you have any opinion on that practice?

    • @ReikiGemWellness

      I think placing the stones on your bathtub ledge is a wonderful bathtime ritual practice. As for those placing it in the water, I would proceed with caution and place them in ziploc bags before they go in the water. 🙏💖🙏

    I have a question you may be able to help with, I am interested in popping a few crystals and gem stones into my Cats water, is it safe and what crystals would you recommend.

    • @ReikiGemWellness
      @ReikiGemWellness  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      NO. Do not put crystals in your cat's water. I don't recommend crystals elixirs unless the stone never actually comes in contact with the water. That's wonderful you are practicing Reiki on your cats - some love it, some aren't all that interested. That's normal 🙏💖🙏

    Hi Shannon ✨ this is a very helpful video! Some of us are not alert to issues such as gems toxicity. I have a raw azurite stone and I’ve noticed that it sheds some blue sometimes. Do you think it’s harmful? I’ve just stored it on a jewelry base so that I don’t handle it directly. Is this a good measure?

      Thank you for the info Ms. Shannon. Now I’m concerned because I I-o-v-e Pyrite. In doing research I found that many articles considered Pyrite toxic but on the other hand many sites & videos suggested the great benefits of Pyrite; I’m confused. People have admired my Pyrite pendants & rings and I’ve made Pyrite jewelry for others. I’ve been wearing Pyrite jewelry for years but now I’m concerned. Also why would almost every gemstone store, as well as on-line stores sell pyrite if it’s considered toxic?😟 😟 😦

    Hi Shannon! For raw malachite, do you think it is okay to store in a cool and less ventilated space? I just recently bought a raw malachite and I got stunned of its beauty before realizing its toxicity. 😅 I usually place my crystals on my headboard but the aircon directly hits that area. Can i expose my malachite to that space or is it safer if I'll just put it in an acrylic shelf? Thank you!

    • @ReikiGemWellness
      @ReikiGemWellness  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If Malachite is polished then you really don't have to worry about it. I would still do precautionary hand washing. The real danger comes from rough stones, if you're cutting or carving malachite, or if someone puts it in water for an elixir. 🙏🙏

    Is it safe to wear some of these gemstones? For example, I have a malachite, garnet, and moldavite necklace. Also I know some women put crystals in their bra haha and I was wondering how safe that is, specifically if you know for rose quartz, green aventurine, citrine, tigers eye, and satin spar as those are some of my favorites. Oh also sorry for so many questions, it’s just that online doesn’t usually talk about toxicity for handling, but I have a crystal shelf right by my bed, is that safe?

    • @ReikiGemWellness
      @ReikiGemWellness  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are safe to wear because most stones are in metal frames limiting skin contact. I personally would be careful which gemstones I put in a bra, because the combination of the gemstone and sweat would enable absorption. Likely not toxic levels, but I would still be careful. Most gemstones are not toxic for breathing unless someone is in the business of carving and cutting gems. Just having them on display is not dangerous 🙏🙏

    Shannon suggests we Google common list of 50 gemstones with some level of toxicity.
    Common ones are Aglina (lead), Malachite (copper), bumblebee jasper (arsenic), lapis. Hear the rest.
    1. Wash hands after using crystals.
    2. Do not drink water elixirs. Use the bottles that have pockets at the bottom, if you're into that kind of thing. Clear separation of water and crystal needed.
    3. Do your homework if you cut and carve gemstones.

      The Crystal Bible by Judy Hall has alot of info on crystals like their healing properties it doesn't cover which ones are toxic or how to cleanse them cuz some cyrsals can not go into water at all. You must research per cyrstal but as far as a wide spread of info on them & their healing both physical, mental, spiritual, and auratic its a good place to start.
      As far as fear of summoning evil this can happen with anything you bring home or even if a ghost follows you home (highly unlikely but we've had such occur) so if you notice discord in your family too much or else you see ghost think what new came into the house when you started to see these things (no matter what it is) then discard those articles that has helped so many times in our family we collect antiques but one time we had store brought toy that got possessed as well. If discarding doesn't work then you'll have to go bigger but we've always discarded and it's always worked so far.
      Research just because you have crystals in your house doesn't auto equal evils incoming, cuz even normal mirrors can be portals or the ground your house stands on just pick the crystals that are right for you most crystals I'm finding aid not cause things like headaches for instance.
