BloodyThesky please I'm so stuck still. I can't get past the first round of the competition! I've tried just heading for the base and their main robot just keeps taking me out with its drill. Also when I try and equip long range weapons it won't let me!! All of the bodies I have tried, not sure if it because I haven't unlocked it yet? Please help it's driving me insane!!
@@leosumner9317 It's been awhile now since I have played the game, so please forgive me if some of this info is out of date. They may have changed the mini game a bit with a patch or DLC, or something. But it's strange that the enemy AI is being so aggressive with you on the very first battle. Are you taking advantage of the speed boost? I would usually try to speed boost away if the AI with the drill was coming after me. Most of the time that would get it to go another way and leave me alone for a bit. Try not to even get near it, if you can help it. And yeah, I believe you can only put ranged weapons on the balanced frame (middle icon, the balance scale). However I feel it is best to just let your AI teammates deal with the ranged weapons, to help keep the enemy AI off your back, while you focus on collecting pieces. You can try putting the shield on your bot to help take a bit more damage. Usually, for my experience, the AI is pretty slow to capture your base in the starting battles, and is more so focused on trying to fill the board with their colored blocks. This usually allows you enough time to just set pieces from your base to theirs for a quick win. Sorry if this isn't very helpful. Let me know if you're still struggling and maybe I can pop in the game and see if anything has changed to help give you some better, more up-to-date, advise.

I managed to equip one robot with a ranged weapon but still not the robot I control as I've tried all the bodies that were available. I keep thinking there is something I'm missing but I just don't understand what that is. Maybe my age lol ,I'm getting on a bit 🤣 . The 3rd robot I wasn't able to equip with a long range weapon either. School stories has come to a halt now, because I need to progress further in the main story first. I think I'm near the end of chapter 4. I am using the boost btw

I actually never went to the enemy base in none of the matches .I just used the map placement guide modification and after this match here I used the stealth mod and kept upgrading and I used the mg firefly and my other bot had the hammer and I used your other ways of doing it.and never lost a match again all the way to the end ..thanks to you.im op af at this mini game.you are worth a million likes and a billion subs.you are a god TH-camr!!!

The Robotics clubs missions are the whole reason why I pretty much abandoned the school stories storyline. I just couldn't put myself through that torture anymore. I HATED these missions. They were boring and too time consuming. I play Judgment to beat up gangsters not build robots and collect parts and shit. and do lame ass puzzle games.
Ha ha, true true. I hear ya. It's not so bad once you just start rushing to the enemy base. I was getting the missions done in about 50 seconds, or so. But it does get time consuming later, when you need to start building better parts. It's kind of sucks that they make you replay certain battles over and over to get certain parts.
@@BloodyTheSky I tried to do these missions because I wanted to finish the professor storyline but after the second tournament i was like "screw this" It's just too boring and too long. I like the boxing mini game and the dating mini game even the dancing wasn't so bad skateboarding, virtual fighter 5 is all great, but this is just not fun at all.
I didn't mind the mini game too much, but I agree that I did like the other ones more. I probably found boxing to be the most fun. Virtual Fighter too, of course.
same here. I loved every other club (dance club was whatever) but this one had me raging until I finally just gave up. I want to go back and beat it at some point but idk if it’s worth playing this annoying ass mini game

Your tips were spot on. Had some trouble with the robotic clubs minigame, but following your method (or pretty close to it), I got all the way through without too much struggle afterwards. The biggest help was using the fastest unit I could manage for my controlled bot and setting the AI bots to all ranged attack weapons and maxing those stats. Last piece of the puzzle was that stealth chip. After that, they more or less left me alone to do as I please.
That stealth chip is indeed a game changer. Once you have that you can go back to just grabbing pieces and rushing to the enemy base again. I'm glad my tips were able to help you through the mini game!

Yeah, I wasn't a fan of the dancing either, but at least you could play those on an easier difficulty. Sadly these robot matches have the one set difficulty. Well I hope, like you said, that my video helps make it a little easier.

I'm glad I could help! Yeah, I started off liking the robotics mini game to hating it real quick, when the difficulty spiked, so I can definitely understand. Upgrading your AI teammates to actually be somewhat helpful and rushing for the enemy base makes this minigame a lot more tolerable. Although still a bit frustrating at times, due to bad luck.

"deus" "ex" and "machina" are old greek storytelling tropes that roughly means "god in the machine" -- used as a plot device to move the story along. Put in there sometimes as a crutch to get an author out of a tight spot. Adaptation is a great movie.

I didn’t even know you could make a path to the enemy’s base. I thought you had to just have the most tiles at the end. This video has been a big help. Also just got the DLC robot. Wonder how much this will help.
Right? The tutorial does a horrible job explaining that alternative way of winning. I think it's only mentioned in one little line. I'm glad the video could help you out. I don't have any of the DLC yet, but I hear all of the extra DLC items are helpful and make the school stories easier.

@@maddogmajimaswifey3868 Yeah, the robot is pretty slow, that's why I suggest putting on the "Enhance Move Speed" mod as soon as you can make it. But I can't remember if you can put that on at the beginning. As long as you didn't change the body style of your bot, it should still have the speed frame on it. This frame allows you to use a boost. You can activate it by pressing triangle on PlayStation (which I believe should be Y on XBox. Not sure about PC, look for the controls at the bottom right of the screen while in the minigame battle). This will make your robot zoom forward. Note that you can't turn while boosting, though. So I like to line up a piece and boost to grab it.
Actually, I learned to love this game. It's hard but then you get the idea and it's easy as a breeze. I recommend NOT attackking enemies yourself, instead make your team do the attack and you try to the pieces
Yep. Agreed. Once you figure out how to play it better, it gets more easier and fun. Good strategy and it's actually exactly what I recommend in the video, too. Just let your AI teammates, with the ranged weapons, attack while you focus on grabbing and laying pieces.
This is by far the worst mini game I've ever played in a video game. Not only do the blocks seemed rigged and always spawn for enemies convenience. Tho there's too many level up walls like when I couldn't get certain materials I needed to level up my power level and had to go against 5 stars when I was only 3. Plus the AI you get teamed up against is the legit worst. Most of the time they get in the way of you actually trying to win and the whole mini game would be way more easier if they weren't in there. This mini game just feels super broken and it's one of those things you just gotta keep trying and trying again until you get lucky and win. If you're willing to put that much time into it that is.
Yeah, there are at least two battles that I feel are heavily luck based (Team NT and the one after). Before that you could rush to the enemy base and usually win, unless you got unlucky with the block spawns, like you mentioned. But at least after you have the stealth mod, the mini game gets super easy after that. But, like you said, you have to make it to that point first. Ha ha. I just hope my guide here helps people get to that point.
@@BloodyTheSky I actually got passed it a while back with the exact method you used. Using 2 long range attackers for the AI and making your bot all speed and using the drill so you can grab all the blocks while the AI take out the enemies and you can try to rush the enemies base. It's really the only build strategy I found to work.
You have to make some, in "Parts Development", and then to put them onto bots with balanced frames. I think balanced frames are all called XF-something (usually XF and some numbers, like XF-07). They can not go onto bots with speed or defense frames. You can edit your bots by going into "Parts Rearrangement". You can switch which bots to edit by pressing L1/R1 on PlayStation, which I assume would be LB/RB on XBox. I'd personally recommend putting guns on the two AI robots, while keeping your speed. As for which guns, I recommend either two machine guns (MG Firefly) or one machine gun and one shotgun (Spider Shot G)

They really should have done a better job of explaining the other way you could win, IMO. The tutorial mainly makes you focus on placing a lot of blocks. I think there was only one sentence about winning by putting blocks in the enemy base. So it was definitely easy to miss. I'm glad my guide was able to help. Thanks for the sub!
I know how you feel. Hopefully my guide can help make things easier, so you can finally get past it. If you follow my tips, I'd say really only the Team NT battle, and the one after it, are annoying. The rest should, hopefully, not be as bad, assuming bad luck doesn't get in your way. You might just have to grind for robot part materials, which can be annoying in it's own right.
I know I’m late with the comments but I have been having a blast playing this mini game. This guid helped me out a lot. Once you compromise the enemy base that’s it. Now I can’t stop playing this mini game 😂

Yeah, Team NT is a pain. I think there is always a hint of luck involved with that battle. I've tried tons of different setups and even when I'd win, I'd go back through again with the same and lose. It really depends on how lucky you get with block spawns and how aggressive the AI is being (both yours and the opponent). I've posted the setup I personally won the most consistently with in the video and in the pinned comment. But, like I said, I feel there is still luck involved, so don't get discouraged if you lose a few times. Just keep at it and maybe make a tweak or two, if you think it'd help your playstyle.
Yep, that battle is definitely a pain. Especially if you go in without many upgrades and expecting it to be like the other battles. Like you said, once you can get past that, it gets pretty easy again from there.
Yeah, you do usually have to do all the side stories, and stuff, but no denying that the school stories are an annoying hurdle. That's the main reason I wanted to get the school stories done.
Maybe you find this useful. To find super durable rubber, you can eat food which allows you to find rare items. I found a great spot for this around the bating center and the drone races. You can eat at the restaurants nearby. Once you get the right lucky plates with the screw icon, run around the place and you can get lots of rare items, including two or three super durable rubber. Once done it, head anywhere else or rest at the agency and come back later for more. It's better to do this at the end of the game, when you already have skill to eat whatever you want, and also if you completed some dice and cube games so you have money enough. Good luck guys.
That's also a great way to make money in the game as well, if you're hurting for cash. You get lots of gold/platinum plates to sale, as well as cheat items to use in the gambling mini games that can also net you a ton of cash. I actually had to stop and do that once to finish buying the materials I needed to make my robots.
You have to make sure the piece you are trying to place would be touching another one of your blue pieces, but it can't overlap another blue piece. So, for example, you would have to place a piece either next to or in front of one of your other blue spaces (when starting out, that would be in front of, or to the side of, your starting 3 or 4 blue base pieces). But the piece you are trying to place can't go into your already blue space. All the pieces you are trying to place either need to go into default gray spaces or enemy red spaces. Think of it as like you are trying to build a path to the red base. Like a road, or something. Make sure your blue "road" always connects to the blue you have already placed. I hope that makes sense and helps.
Before i played this mini game I looked it up and everyone was saying it's the hardest mini game in LJ but for some reason I never lost a match and it wasn't hard at all for me
Nice! I had an easy go if it until I ran into Team NT and had to upgrade my bots. If I was upgrading as I went before that, I might have had an easier time. Did you have the season pass robot? I hear that helps make the mini game a bit easier.

I was on board with most of this stuff, its just I was desperate to try to beat team Sotebori SAL (Im stuck on it and I wont lie the enemy has quite the team build, they just send ranged weapon-equipped AI after you while one of them just goes to grab pieces)
Yeah, I remember having trouble with that one. That's probably the other heavily luck based battle in the game. You just have to make the best stuff you can at that battle and kinda hope to get lucky. Eventually my AI kept the enemy AI at bay enough for me to grab some pieces. Also I got lucky and pieces spawned near me instead of the AI. Pretty much just put the best ranged weapons on your AI teammates and hope for the best. Messing with their mods might help as well.
@@BloodyTheSky Update: After basically picking what you recommended but just picking the more upgraded stuff, it was a breeze lol, now I can just grind it easily with barely any trouble, it's probably because I didn't care to upgrade it nor try any practice matches

Yep, that battle is a pain. Probably the hardest one, followed by the one after. But the battle after it seems like the enemy AI isn't quite as aggressive. After that, though, you get access to mods that make the rest of the mini game a cakewalk. I hope my strategy and setup in the video helps you out, so you can get past it. Good luck!
Against Team NT I put the difficulty down to Simple and I’m still getting destroyed in a matter of seconds. Enemy robot is VERY aggressive, coming at me straight away and I can’t even move, I don’t stand a chance. Have seen many different guides online for builds and parts needed but none work for me and I can’t even get the parts from practice matches as I’m getting destroyed instantly. I love this game but it’s such a shame they had to ruin this part of it. I know I won’t be completing the robotics club section of the game.
Sadly I don't think the game's difficulty affects this mini game, but I don't know for sure. Have you tried the two snipers method? Where you put a sniper on each one of your AI bots? It didn't work for me, but others have had success with it. I don't remember the practice battles being too bad. Are you rushing to the enemy base? If you made it to Team NT, then you should be able to do the practice battles. Maybe take a break and try again later? Sometimes trying again, after a long break, can help out a lot, since you aren't as stressed.
Yep, put two snipers on the AI bots but enemy AI robots are ridiculously fast and take my main bot out repeatedly in a matter of seconds. I can’t even get to blocks quick enough to pick them up. I’ve used offensive strategies with the snipers, I’ve used defensive strategies with setting up the AI bots to block attacks, I’ve used chips to get the AI bots to grab the blocks for me. I’ve used speed chips, rotation speed chips, melee attack chips, ranged attack chips, different weapon types, different armour types but it all ends in the same result: The opposition bots are 10x faster than me, corner me instantly and repeatedly take me out whilst my AI bots bumble hopelessly around the map not picking up blocks and not preventing me from being attacked like they are set up to do so. There’s literally nothing I can do, it’s impossible.
Yeah, it's rough. Sadly that battle is pretty luck based, even if you are doing everything "right". You have to play it enough times to finally get lucky enough with either your AI robots actually being helpful, blocks spawn right in front of you or the enemy team AI doesn't focus you too much. Maybe even all 3 things. Unfortunately that means you might have to play it several times before you finally get said luck. I wish you luck, if you decide to keep trying. I wish I could be of more help.

Yeah, some of the school story mini games really do drag on. I was really done with the biker one about 3 races before it ended. lol Sadly the funnest one (IMO), the Virtua Fighter one, was the shortest one.
I live in Vegas and they just had a convention like this called battle bots and all the competitiors look like all these nerds in robot club but their inventions are legit breaking and destroying shit its pretty rad but in video game? Just managed to complete it with the above suggestion. Took me 3-4 tries but I understood the pattern. The opponents were extremely agressive. I'm wondering if we can use the same for rest of the matches too? Cheers! 👍🏽
Yeah, just replace one of the mods on your robot with the stealth chip, when you get it. I think it should be two battles after Team NT. Then the rest should be a breeze. Upgrade the bots with better frames to make it even easier. You have to play the final battle with a specific robot, but as long as you remember to slap the stealth chip on it, it should be easy enough.
Reporting back after completing all school stories today. Managed to clear the Robotics club with ease later on and went with a full melee build for all of us. The Gorilla hammer and all its upgrades just were insane. Plus I got the stealth chip on Deus and Ex & Machina got the one which allowed enemies to target them first (Revenge chip?). By the end, I had maxed out all my upgrades and was able to beat and farm every mission on first try. I think the reason why Team NT are true test for everyone is because they force you to start upgrading your existing line up and really starts to put pressure with the enemy's hyper agressive attack bots. Loved the whole School story aspect. This game was truly a worthy purchase. I'm going through the main story now but still miss all this school story stuff. 😢

Extract shop? It's been awhile now since I have played this game now, but I definitely remember that it unlocks after a forced side case. I think sometime in chapter 3? Unless you're talking about a different extract shop, but I only recall the one.

But I definitely recall the side case getting forced upon you, when you are going to a part in the story. So just keep playing and you should unlock it soon enough.

Omg I finally got on a beat this dumb asz mini level or wtf ever it's called and I used everything you said except I had better battery for speed and a better level deuce bot because I did practice about 100 times and it gave enough parts to make a lot of things.but your way of rushing the enemy base didn't work so I just won 54-35 lol thx u for the wonderful video brother.
Yeah, that battle can be tough to rush sometimes, so you just have to do what you can to win. I'd usually lose trying to cover more of the board because the enemy bots would usually target me too much. Ha ha. I'm glad it worked out for you! Enjoy the rest of the game / school stories.
Im not even at Team NT im already getting my ass whooped because the Enemy is so fast and the blocks are just spawning right at their base. Robotics might just be the most annoying side mini-game in any game, The School stories are so interesting but you just get locked behind because you're stuck in robotics club. Even developing and rearranging parts are not even fun, makes me think why RGG thought this was a good idea. Im still trying to scrape by this mini game to finish the school stories as i wanna finish it.
Yeah, the mini game can definitely be a bit luck based, especially in the beginning. I lost a few battles because all the blocks would spawn next to the AI too. I hated that. Don't forget that you have that speed boost! It helps zip across the board pretty fast. But even that doesn't help when the blocks spawn right on top of the AI. Just brush off the unlucky loss and try again. Remember to try and rush to put a block into the enemy base as quick as you can. Thankfully the mini game becomes incredibly easy once you get to make the later mods. It's just getting to that point is a pain. lol
Not that I know of, sadly. I think the closest thing you can do to kind of cheat it is to buy the DLC, if you don't already own it. I hear the DLC bot makes it a lot easier, but I don't know for sure, since I don't own it. So take that with a grain of salt. So unless you're on PC, probably no way to cheat through it, sadly. Ha ha. I hope my video can at least help you out in some way to get through it.
Sorry, I'm not too sure what you mean by the Jack bot thingy. Forgive me, it's been awhile since I last played Lost Judgement. Ha ha. Can you be more specific?
You can only place pieces next to your other pieces. So at the very start of the match, you can only place pieces down next to the three or four blocks your team's bots started on. Make sure none of the pieces overlap as well. If this is what you're trying and it's still not working, then the mini game might be bugged for you. I think someone else in the comments mentioning it happening to them, but it seems to be a rare bug/glitch.

You mean the money specifically for the mini game, right? Not the money you earn out in the world with like gambling and stuff? If so, sadly I never found any quick way to make the money. I think you just have to grind practice battles until you finally get there. I'm not too sure which practice battles net you the most, if there is even any difference. Probably the ones on the final map, if I had to guess.
My AI does literally nothing but keep bumping into the enemies, it doesnt shoot, melee, or do anything, it just bumps into them without a stop ._. And yes, i do have the robot frames that give the AI the capabilities to do something. It's just that it decides to not work 80% of the time and it drives me crazy.
Yeah, sadly that's just the luck of this mini game unfortunately. Sometimes your bots will just be dumb and decide to do nothing. Other times they actually do a decent job. You'll just have to keep trying until they finally decide to be useful enough for you to get the win. One suggestion I have is you can try changing one of the AI's weapons to the sniper. The sniper does crazy high damage, but it takes awhile to reload. Some people like to do 2 snipers, so you could try that as well.
Fantastic game! Tho Like A Dragon is far better, this was still an enjoyable experience. With that being said, whoever decided that you MUST pass these trivial, luck based, bs side games to progress in the story should honestly be fired…and seeing what happened with the studio, maybe they were 🤷🏻 In any case, thank you so much for the insight. I loved Like a Dragon. I got the platinum trophy for it on PS4 and then played it again on PS5. But sometimes the turn-based combat didn't really fit well with the pace of the story, IMO. But I'm sure they'll improve on that with Like a Dragon 2. And while I agree that having a pretty big chunk of side story locked behind these mini games was kinda lame, I still hope more Judgment is to come. I heard they have some issues with the actor that plays Yagami in Japan, so I don't know what the future will hold for the Judgment series. I'd like to see more, personally, but time will tell. I’m considering going back and playing some of the earlier Yakuza games or the first Lost Judgement because I’ve ran out of legit games to play and if the previous one’s are anything like LAD I’m sure they’ve aged just fine and I’ll enjoy them. @@SebastianConrad Well the older games are like Like a Dragon in a way but also not. Like a Dragon was the first game to go more of a pure RPG route. All the earlier games have combat and gear more similar to that of Lost Judgment. Also Like a Dragon was a bit more lighthearted than most of the previous games. But the older games are still similar to that of how they do silly, sometimes over-the-top side stories you can do. A lot of people tend to agree that Yakuza 0 is the best out of the series. And sorry, I have only played them all on PlayStation so far. I know they have been making their way over to XBox, but I haven't tried playing any of them over there yet. @@SebastianConrad Yes, I have played all past Yakuza games, except for the ones that never got ported over to the West (like Ishin). I even played the Dead Souls Yakuza game, which was a zombie shooter spinoff. I heavily enjoyed them all. Hands down my favorite video game series in awhile. Up there with the likes of Witcher, Batman: Arkham and Mass Effect for me. Well Like a Dragon is the only one with turn-based combat, all the rest have combat like Lost Judgment (real-time beat-em-up style). As for mini games, pretty much all of them have the batting center, but how it plays is a little different in the older games. You basically just have to time your swing right, no aiming system. I can't really think of any that have a similar mini game to that of the share holder's meetings from LaD. The closest thing I can think of is the real estate business mini game in Yakuza 0. Each Yakuza game has great mini games, though. All games have their own unique mini games as well as most share some of the same mini games. Yakuza 0 and Kiwami have a hostess club management mini game that is pretty fun. Yakuza 6 and Kiwami 2 have a "clan creator" mini game that is kind of like a strategy game. Those are fun as well. They all have the Sega arcade with games like darts and the claw game. I think all also have karaoke and pool (billiards). Most, if not all, also have the gambling games like Blackjack, Poker, Koi-koi, etc. I think pretty much all of them have games like Shogi and Mahjong as well. I'd probably say 0 is my favorite too. Amazing story, great soundtrack, fun combat (again, not turn-based, though) and great mini games. You also get more of a backstory to Majima, which is a great character to the older Yakuza game (yes, the same Majima in LaD). I'd say Yakuza 5 is probably my 2nd favorite. There is just so much to do in Yakuza 5, it's insane! If you do everything that game has to offer, it will hold you over for well over 100 hours. I did indeed play the first Judgment game. I liked it. I saw a lot of people say they liked the story to the original Judgment more, but I'd say I personally liked them about the same. Although I did like how they treated the side characters (like Kaito) better in the first Judgment game. They kind of got shafted in this one, story wise. No problem, I'm happy to help. I hope you get around to trying the other Yakuza games and enjoying them as much as I do. Thankfully they remastered 3-5, and remade 1 and 2 (which is Yakuza Kiwami 1 and 2), so you can enjoy them all on newer systems. I believe they are all on XBox One. Merry Christmas to you as well!
You can only place blocks next to blocks your team already has, and they can not overlap. So at the beginning of the match you can only place blocks next to the 3 or 4 starting blocks (which will be your base) that your robots start on.

I could be wrong, because it has been awhile, but sadly I don't think you keep any of that. The only thing you keep is the materials to make the parts again. But you have to unlock and make the parts again. Again, I could be wrong. If I am, hopefully someone can correct me. But I think that's how it was, back when I did it.

@@animestyle92 You lost the speed boost? If so, then that probably means you took off the speed body type. Make sure you are editing your AI robots with the other balanced body types. You can press the L and R triggers (on console, not too sure what it'd be on PC) to switch which bots you are editing. You should keep the robot you control as the speed type, since that speed boost comes in handy. Yeah, unfortunately you might need to buy materials in order to make the parts you need for the robots. But you should still have all the default parts you started with. I don't think there is a way to sale, or get rid of, parts, so you should still have them.

Remember that you can only place blocks next to blocks that your team already owns. So at the start of the match you need to go grab a gold ball to collect a block piece and then return to your base to set down the blocks. The blocks can not overlap as well. Think of it like you're trying to paint the board blue. I hope that helps a bit. Kind of hard to explain. Ha ha.
A better battery will increase your cost limits. So make yourself a better battery (in the video here, the battery I suggest, the L-KR60, increases the cost limit to 600), and then install it into your robot(s). That should improve their cost limits.
they really made a robotics mini game in the basketball gym instead of just makin a fuckin basketball minigame i was so mad cuz wtf was the point of adding in a whole basketball court just to not use it lol
Make sure you're trying to put blocks down next to where you already have blocks. So at the beginning you can only drop blocks next to your base (the 3 or 4 blocks where your teams bots start). The blocks you place can not go into your other blocks, only beside them.
Bruh.. I don't even see the blue or the red areas anymore. No doubt the minute I post this I find the solution.. I haven't been this stomped since walking by the Poe's paintings like a doofus in the Forest temple.
I'm quite serieus tho, I have gotten to the prelims BLIND completely grayed out field, I don't see my base or the enemies base, I am literally blindly gambling where to place my blocks and not even Reddit seems to have an answer. Is this how blind senseis get their legend status? By pure luck!?
Ha ha, all good. I'll try to help if I can. You make blue with the blocks you pick up and put down. The opponent makes red. So at the very start of the round there should only be 3 (4 on the later maps) blue squares and 3/4 red squares. They should be right where the bots starts. The blue blocks your bots starts on is considered your "base". Same with the opponent and their starting red spaces. Try to put your blue blocks down to make a path from your starting blue squares into their starting red spaces ASAP, to hopefully win the game easily. I hope that's what you were referring to. Just look at the blocks the bots started on. There should be blue under them (for your bots). Are there no blue squares there? Sorry if I'm misunderstanding your issue. Let me know if that helped at all. I hope it did.
@@Flowaddictedable Oh, wow. So even the blocks you put down aren't blue? That's strange. Maybe your game is bugged and you should reinstall (keep your saves, of course). Maybe there is some sort of options in the menu? Maybe try taking HDR on or off? That's weird crazy.

But I actually went assault/mobile/assault, but it's all gray, even when the enemy or I place a solid tetris I see the + pop up. But the entire arena stays grayed out, just happened after the tutorial, I'm surprised I haven't tossed out my controller. Hey restraint, go me right? I'll figure it out. I can't tell you how fast i went from enjoying every second of this game, to LITERALLY wanting to smash my ps5 with a f*cking sledgehammer!!!! This is the stupidest minigame ever put in ANY Yakuza game, in what just might be the BEST Yakuza game in every other aspect 🤦🏾♂️ I just wanna box man... i dont wanna feel FORCED to go to youtube to understand how to play some convoluted and underexplained minigame that I dont even wanna play anyway!!!
Ha ha, yeah I know how you feel. For me this minigame started off easy and then got stupid hard, and it really put a whole damper on things. That's why I put together this video, to hopefully help other people struggling. Sad part is, even with following these tips, a few of the battles rely heavily on luck, which is a shame. Hopefully you can get through it and continue on with the game. Thankfully most of the other school story mini games aren't anywhere as bad.

I was able to progress far enough to unlock the Esports minigame, wich got me the boxing minigame. So i got where i wanted to get, im not too concerned with finishing that specific school story lol. @@mishima433 Hmmm. Sorry if I'm misunderstanding, but you're saying you have parts that the game is saying you don't have? Sometimes you'll get parts to things you can't even make yet, until it unlocks in the later battles, which is kinda weird. Are you sure you're getting the right version of the part you need? Sometimes they have similar names but have a different letter at the end, or something like that.
@@mishima433 I might be wrong, but I think the shield can only be used on certain robot frames. Try changing the body type of your robot and seeing if it's there. I think any frame except the balanced one can use the shield, if I remember right.
I must have gotten lucky with the VR game. I don't remember having much issue with it. I think I may have lost once due to bad luck, but this robotics club I lost quite a few times thanks to bad luck. Funny how RNG works out that way.
@@AMaidenlessRunt When the dice is rolling it has a set pattern. It's very hard to follow, because it goes so fast, but I would sit there watching it and calling out when the six appears. I'd say, out loud, "Six, six, six, six.". I would try to hit the button as soon as I was saying the word six. I think 1 comes right after 6, so if you're slightly off, you're going to roll a 1 every time. You could just play it safer and hit to roll when it's definitely not going to be a 1. But in the robotics club, if you get unlucky and all the block pieces spawn in front of the AI, there is literally nothing you can do. I guess you could destroy the other robots, but that's not going to win you the match. That's why I feel the luck in robotics club is a bit more brutal.
My favorite way to make some quick cash is to go find a restaurant that has "Find valuables" as it's bonus for eating certain things. This is better if you have the food skill (gluttony, I think). You will find a lot of gold and platinum plates, gambling cheat items and VR passes when you have the find valuables bonus. The VR minigame is another great way to make some easy cash.
@@SxcietyLxser Oh. I guess I never had problem with that, because I had to grind so many battles before I finally passed the harder battles I was struggling with. Plus I grinded a lot to get the materials you can only get from the robot battles. So sorry, I don't have a tip for you there. I guess you're just going to have to do a few extra practice battles. Those reward funds, right? Sorry it's been awhile since I've last played the game.

Found it weird that just about everyone hated this mini game. I found it to be the most fun one. I think the key part that many is missing here is not installing the ai mods. Best ones are the chaser and the jammer ones. Equip chaser ai to a mobile and assault unit with the best weapons and watch them stomp the enemy lead unit everytime it spawns. Leaving you free to pick up pieces and make a beeline to the enemy base.
I agree that I don't hate this mini game at all. It's not my favorite, but also not my least favorite, now that I have played through the biker one. That one just dragged on a little too long for my tastes. And I agree with the AI mods. A lot of people tend to ignore messing with the AI robots, including myself at the beginning. Chaser and jammer are definitely good mods too, especially for earlier on.
So true. The difficulty spikes pretty heavily. You can go from winning easy with the default robots to losing even with fully upgraded robots pretty quick. I feel the two hardest battles are also pretty luck-based. Even if you do everything right, not much you can do if the pieces keep spawning right in front of the AI and if your robots refuse to help. Thankfully the mini game gets incredibly easy again once you get the stealth mod, that makes the enemy AI ignore you.
@@DjSyko86 Ha ha, grats! Yeah, I think it unlocks after you beat Team NT, but I don't think you can start getting the materials you need for it until the battle following that. Sontenbori? After that battle you can start doing a practice battle which gets you what you need to make the stealth mod, if I remember right.
I actually was too and that's when I figured out that it's way better to just rush to the other side. Have you tried just rushing to the enemy starting area and capturing their base? That makes things a lot easier until you get to Team NT and need to start putting mods and weapons on your other robots.
@@carltontheduke2571 Yeah, that's very annoying. Try putting ranged weapons on your AI teammate bots and hope they can knock out the bots that are pushing you around. Later on you get a mod that makes the opponent bots ignore your bot. That makes the mini game a breeze, but unfortunately you don't get access to it until later.
@@carltontheduke2571 Can you make any? I suggest the MG Firefly machine gun and spider shot shotgun. You might have to grind some other practice battles for the needed materials.

BloodyThesky please I'm so stuck still. I can't get past the first round of the competition! I've tried just heading for the base and their main robot just keeps taking me out with its drill. Also when I try and equip long range weapons it won't let me!! All of the bodies I have tried, not sure if it because I haven't unlocked it yet? Please help it's driving me insane!!
@@leosumner9317 It's been awhile now since I have played the game, so please forgive me if some of this info is out of date. They may have changed the mini game a bit with a patch or DLC, or something. But it's strange that the enemy AI is being so aggressive with you on the very first battle. Are you taking advantage of the speed boost? I would usually try to speed boost away if the AI with the drill was coming after me. Most of the time that would get it to go another way and leave me alone for a bit. Try not to even get near it, if you can help it.
And yeah, I believe you can only put ranged weapons on the balanced frame (middle icon, the balance scale). However I feel it is best to just let your AI teammates deal with the ranged weapons, to help keep the enemy AI off your back, while you focus on collecting pieces. You can try putting the shield on your bot to help take a bit more damage. Usually, for my experience, the AI is pretty slow to capture your base in the starting battles, and is more so focused on trying to fill the board with their colored blocks. This usually allows you enough time to just set pieces from your base to theirs for a quick win.
Sorry if this isn't very helpful. Let me know if you're still struggling and maybe I can pop in the game and see if anything has changed to help give you some better, more up-to-date, advise.

I managed to equip one robot with a ranged weapon but still not the robot I control as I've tried all the bodies that were available. I keep thinking there is something I'm missing but I just don't understand what that is. Maybe my age lol ,I'm getting on a bit 🤣 . The 3rd robot I wasn't able to equip with a long range weapon either. School stories has come to a halt now, because I need to progress further in the main story first. I think I'm near the end of chapter 4. I am using the boost btw
It's not an RGG game without that one minigame that drives players crazy but is required to progress a side/substory

I actually never went to the enemy base in none of the matches .I just used the map placement guide modification and after this match here I used the stealth mod and kept upgrading and I used the mg firefly and my other bot had the hammer and I used your other ways of doing it.and never lost a match again all the way to the end ..thanks to you.im op af at this mini game.you are worth a million likes and a billion subs.you are a god TH-camr!!!

The Robotics clubs missions are the whole reason why I pretty much abandoned the school stories storyline. I just couldn't put myself through that torture anymore. I HATED these missions. They were boring and too time consuming. I play Judgment to beat up gangsters not build robots and collect parts and shit. and do lame ass puzzle games.
Ha ha, true true. I hear ya. It's not so bad once you just start rushing to the enemy base. I was getting the missions done in about 50 seconds, or so. But it does get time consuming later, when you need to start building better parts. It's kind of sucks that they make you replay certain battles over and over to get certain parts.
@@BloodyTheSky I tried to do these missions because I wanted to finish the professor storyline but after the second tournament i was like "screw this" It's just too boring and too long. I like the boxing mini game and the dating mini game even the dancing wasn't so bad skateboarding, virtual fighter 5 is all great, but this is just not fun at all.
I didn't mind the mini game too much, but I agree that I did like the other ones more. I probably found boxing to be the most fun. Virtual Fighter too, of course.
same here. I loved every other club (dance club was whatever) but this one had me raging until I finally just gave up. I want to go back and beat it at some point but idk if it’s worth playing this annoying ass mini game

Your tips were spot on. Had some trouble with the robotic clubs minigame, but following your method (or pretty close to it), I got all the way through without too much struggle afterwards. The biggest help was using the fastest unit I could manage for my controlled bot and setting the AI bots to all ranged attack weapons and maxing those stats. Last piece of the puzzle was that stealth chip. After that, they more or less left me alone to do as I please.
That stealth chip is indeed a game changer. Once you have that you can go back to just grabbing pieces and rushing to the enemy base again. I'm glad my tips were able to help you through the mini game!
Just when I thought the dance dance revolution style dance mini game was my least favorite, I get to the robot mini games. Thanks a ton for this video, it will definitely help me.
Yeah, I wasn't a fan of the dancing either, but at least you could play those on an easier difficulty. Sadly these robot matches have the one set difficulty. Well I hope, like you said, that my video helps make it a little easier.

You are a life saver man, literally. This minigame was skyrocketing my blood pressure out of frustration and I took a 7 month break from this game. Now I actually understand how improving the robots works and thanks to your advice I can actually beat this thing now.
I'm glad I could help! Yeah, I started off liking the robotics mini game to hating it real quick, when the difficulty spiked, so I can definitely understand. Upgrading your AI teammates to actually be somewhat helpful and rushing for the enemy base makes this minigame a lot more tolerable. Although still a bit frustrating at times, due to bad luck.

"deus" "ex" and "machina" are old greek storytelling tropes that roughly means "god in the machine" -- used as a plot device to move the story along. Put in there sometimes as a crutch to get an author out of a tight spot. Adaptation is a great movie.

I didn’t even know you could make a path to the enemy’s base. I thought you had to just have the most tiles at the end. This video has been a big help. Also just got the DLC robot. Wonder how much this will help.
Right? The tutorial does a horrible job explaining that alternative way of winning. I think it's only mentioned in one little line. I'm glad the video could help you out. I don't have any of the DLC yet, but I hear all of the extra DLC items are helpful and make the school stories easier.

@@maddogmajimaswifey3868 Yeah, the robot is pretty slow, that's why I suggest putting on the "Enhance Move Speed" mod as soon as you can make it. But I can't remember if you can put that on at the beginning. As long as you didn't change the body style of your bot, it should still have the speed frame on it. This frame allows you to use a boost. You can activate it by pressing triangle on PlayStation (which I believe should be Y on XBox. Not sure about PC, look for the controls at the bottom right of the screen while in the minigame battle). This will make your robot zoom forward. Note that you can't turn while boosting, though. So I like to line up a piece and boost to grab it.
This.... This is the optimal solution.

Actually, I learned to love this game. It's hard but then you get the idea and it's easy as a breeze. I recommend NOT attackking enemies yourself, instead make your team do the attack and you try to the pieces
Yep. Agreed. Once you figure out how to play it better, it gets more easier and fun. Good strategy and it's actually exactly what I recommend in the video, too. Just let your AI teammates, with the ranged weapons, attack while you focus on grabbing and laying pieces.
This is by far the worst mini game I've ever played in a video game. Not only do the blocks seemed rigged and always spawn for enemies convenience. Tho there's too many level up walls like when I couldn't get certain materials I needed to level up my power level and had to go against 5 stars when I was only 3. Plus the AI you get teamed up against is the legit worst. Most of the time they get in the way of you actually trying to win and the whole mini game would be way more easier if they weren't in there. This mini game just feels super broken and it's one of those things you just gotta keep trying and trying again until you get lucky and win. If you're willing to put that much time into it that is.
Yeah, there are at least two battles that I feel are heavily luck based (Team NT and the one after). Before that you could rush to the enemy base and usually win, unless you got unlucky with the block spawns, like you mentioned. But at least after you have the stealth mod, the mini game gets super easy after that. But, like you said, you have to make it to that point first. Ha ha. I just hope my guide here helps people get to that point.
@@BloodyTheSky I actually got passed it a while back with the exact method you used. Using 2 long range attackers for the AI and making your bot all speed and using the drill so you can grab all the blocks while the AI take out the enemies and you can try to rush the enemies base. It's really the only build strategy I found to work.
I've barely started this minigame and I already came across with the enemies with guns how do i get guns myself
You have to make some, in "Parts Development", and then to put them onto bots with balanced frames. I think balanced frames are all called XF-something (usually XF and some numbers, like XF-07). They can not go onto bots with speed or defense frames. You can edit your bots by going into "Parts Rearrangement". You can switch which bots to edit by pressing L1/R1 on PlayStation, which I assume would be LB/RB on XBox. I'd personally recommend putting guns on the two AI robots, while keeping your speed. As for which guns, I recommend either two machine guns (MG Firefly) or one machine gun and one shotgun (Spider Shot G)

They really should have done a better job of explaining the other way you could win, IMO. The tutorial mainly makes you focus on placing a lot of blocks. I think there was only one sentence about winning by putting blocks in the enemy base. So it was definitely easy to miss. I'm glad my guide was able to help. Thanks for the sub!

I know how you feel. Hopefully my guide can help make things easier, so you can finally get past it. If you follow my tips, I'd say really only the Team NT battle, and the one after it, are annoying. The rest should, hopefully, not be as bad, assuming bad luck doesn't get in your way. You might just have to grind for robot part materials, which can be annoying in it's own right.
I know I’m late with the comments but I have been having a blast playing this mini game. This guid helped me out a lot. Once you compromise the enemy base that’s it. Now I can’t stop playing this mini game 😂

Yeah, Team NT is a pain. I think there is always a hint of luck involved with that battle. I've tried tons of different setups and even when I'd win, I'd go back through again with the same and lose. It really depends on how lucky you get with block spawns and how aggressive the AI is being (both yours and the opponent). I've posted the setup I personally won the most consistently with in the video and in the pinned comment. But, like I said, I feel there is still luck involved, so don't get discouraged if you lose a few times. Just keep at it and maybe make a tweak or two, if you think it'd help your playstyle.

Crazy you have to complete school stories to do all the side cases and fight amon.
Yeah, you do usually have to do all the side stories, and stuff, but no denying that the school stories are an annoying hurdle. That's the main reason I wanted to get the school stories done.
Maybe you find this useful. To find super durable rubber, you can eat food which allows you to find rare items. I found a great spot for this around the bating center and the drone races. You can eat at the restaurants nearby. Once you get the right lucky plates with the screw icon, run around the place and you can get lots of rare items, including two or three super durable rubber. Once done it, head anywhere else or rest at the agency and come back later for more. It's better to do this at the end of the game, when you already have skill to eat whatever you want, and also if you completed some dice and cube games so you have money enough. Good luck guys.
That's also a great way to make money in the game as well, if you're hurting for cash. You get lots of gold/platinum plates to sale, as well as cheat items to use in the gambling mini games that can also net you a ton of cash. I actually had to stop and do that once to finish buying the materials I needed to make my robots.

Every time i try to place a piece on the board it wont place. Why wont my piece go down? Whats the trick to placing pieces?
You have to make sure the piece you are trying to place would be touching another one of your blue pieces, but it can't overlap another blue piece. So, for example, you would have to place a piece either next to or in front of one of your other blue spaces (when starting out, that would be in front of, or to the side of, your starting 3 or 4 blue base pieces). But the piece you are trying to place can't go into your already blue space. All the pieces you are trying to place either need to go into default gray spaces or enemy red spaces. Think of it as like you are trying to build a path to the red base. Like a road, or something. Make sure your blue "road" always connects to the blue you have already placed. I hope that makes sense and helps.
Before i played this mini game I looked it up and everyone was saying it's the hardest mini game in LJ but for some reason I never lost a match and it wasn't hard at all for me
Nice! I had an easy go if it until I ran into Team NT and had to upgrade my bots. If I was upgrading as I went before that, I might have had an easier time. Did you have the season pass robot? I hear that helps make the mini game a bit easier.

I was on board with most of this stuff, its just I was desperate to try to beat team Sotebori SAL (Im stuck on it and I wont lie the enemy has quite the team build, they just send ranged weapon-equipped AI after you while one of them just goes to grab pieces)
Yeah, I remember having trouble with that one. That's probably the other heavily luck based battle in the game. You just have to make the best stuff you can at that battle and kinda hope to get lucky. Eventually my AI kept the enemy AI at bay enough for me to grab some pieces. Also I got lucky and pieces spawned near me instead of the AI. Pretty much just put the best ranged weapons on your AI teammates and hope for the best. Messing with their mods might help as well.
@@BloodyTheSky Update: After basically picking what you recommended but just picking the more upgraded stuff, it was a breeze lol, now I can just grind it easily with barely any trouble, it's probably because I didn't care to upgrade it nor try any practice matches

Yep, that battle is a pain. Probably the hardest one, followed by the one after. But the battle after it seems like the enemy AI isn't quite as aggressive. After that, though, you get access to mods that make the rest of the mini game a cakewalk. I hope my strategy and setup in the video helps you out, so you can get past it. Good luck!
Against Team NT I put the difficulty down to Simple and I’m still getting destroyed in a matter of seconds. Enemy robot is VERY aggressive, coming at me straight away and I can’t even move, I don’t stand a chance.
Have seen many different guides online for builds and parts needed but none work for me and I can’t even get the parts from practice matches as I’m getting destroyed instantly.
I love this game but it’s such a shame they had to ruin this part of it. I know I won’t be completing the robotics club section of the game.
Sadly I don't think the game's difficulty affects this mini game, but I don't know for sure. Have you tried the two snipers method? Where you put a sniper on each one of your AI bots? It didn't work for me, but others have had success with it. I don't remember the practice battles being too bad. Are you rushing to the enemy base? If you made it to Team NT, then you should be able to do the practice battles. Maybe take a break and try again later? Sometimes trying again, after a long break, can help out a lot, since you aren't as stressed.
Yep, put two snipers on the AI bots but enemy AI robots are ridiculously fast and take my main bot out repeatedly in a matter of seconds. I can’t even get to blocks quick enough to pick them up.
I’ve used offensive strategies with the snipers, I’ve used defensive strategies with setting up the AI bots to block attacks, I’ve used chips to get the AI bots to grab the blocks for me. I’ve used speed chips, rotation speed chips, melee attack chips, ranged attack chips, different weapon types, different armour types but it all ends in the same result:
The opposition bots are 10x faster than me, corner me instantly and repeatedly take me out whilst my AI bots bumble hopelessly around the map not picking up blocks and not preventing me from being attacked like they are set up to do so.
There’s literally nothing I can do, it’s impossible.
Yeah, it's rough. Sadly that battle is pretty luck based, even if you are doing everything "right". You have to play it enough times to finally get lucky enough with either your AI robots actually being helpful, blocks spawn right in front of you or the enemy team AI doesn't focus you too much. Maybe even all 3 things. Unfortunately that means you might have to play it several times before you finally get said luck. I wish you luck, if you decide to keep trying. I wish I could be of more help.

Yeah, some of the school story mini games really do drag on. I was really done with the biker one about 3 races before it ended. lol Sadly the funnest one (IMO), the Virtua Fighter one, was the shortest one.
I live in Vegas and they just had a convention like this called battle bots and all the competitiors look like all these nerds in robot club but their inventions are legit breaking and destroying shit its pretty rad but in video game? Yeah, I have no clue how these developers come up with new ideas for mini games to slap into their games. They usually don't fit the mood of the games at all, but that's one of the reasons I like them so much. Ha ha. I'm glad I was able to help you get the 100%!
Just managed to complete it with the above suggestion. Took me 3-4 tries but I understood the pattern. The opponents were extremely agressive. I'm wondering if we can use the same for rest of the matches too?

Yeah, just replace one of the mods on your robot with the stealth chip, when you get it. I think it should be two battles after Team NT. Then the rest should be a breeze. Upgrade the bots with better frames to make it even easier. You have to play the final battle with a specific robot, but as long as you remember to slap the stealth chip on it, it should be easy enough.

Reporting back after completing all school stories today. Managed to clear the Robotics club with ease later on and went with a full melee build for all of us. The Gorilla hammer and all its upgrades just were insane. Plus I got the stealth chip on Deus and Ex & Machina got the one which allowed enemies to target them first (Revenge chip?). By the end, I had maxed out all my upgrades and was able to beat and farm every mission on first try. I think the reason why Team NT are true test for everyone is because they force you to start upgrading your existing line up and really starts to put pressure with the enemy's hyper agressive attack bots. Loved the whole School story aspect. This game was truly a worthy purchase. I'm going through the main story now but still miss all this school story stuff. 😢

Apparently I'm supposed to get Appeal to level 3 (Im almost at 4 now) and then somebody should appear outside the dance hall with an energy drink, and then that story progresses, but there is nothing happening for me. Extract shop? It's been awhile now since I have played this game now, but I definitely remember that it unlocks after a forced side case. I think sometime in chapter 3? Unless you're talking about a different extract shop, but I only recall the one.

Omg I finally got on a beat this dumb asz mini level or wtf ever it's called and I used everything you said except I had better battery for speed and a better level deuce bot because I did practice about 100 times and it gave enough parts to make a lot of things.but your way of rushing the enemy base didn't work so I just won 54-35 lol thx u for the wonderful video brother.
Yeah, that battle can be tough to rush sometimes, so you just have to do what you can to win. I'd usually lose trying to cover more of the board because the enemy bots would usually target me too much. Ha ha. I'm glad it worked out for you! Enjoy the rest of the game / school stories.
Im not even at Team NT im already getting my ass whooped because the Enemy is so fast and the blocks are just spawning right at their base. Robotics might just be the most annoying side mini-game in any game, The School stories are so interesting but you just get locked behind because you're stuck in robotics club. Even developing and rearranging parts are not even fun, makes me think why RGG thought this was a good idea. Im still trying to scrape by this mini game to finish the school stories as i wanna finish it.
Yeah, the mini game can definitely be a bit luck based, especially in the beginning. I lost a few battles because all the blocks would spawn next to the AI too. I hated that. Don't forget that you have that speed boost! It helps zip across the board pretty fast. But even that doesn't help when the blocks spawn right on top of the AI. Just brush off the unlucky loss and try again. Remember to try and rush to put a block into the enemy base as quick as you can. Thankfully the mini game becomes incredibly easy once you get to make the later mods. It's just getting to that point is a pain. lol

Not that I know of, sadly. I think the closest thing you can do to kind of cheat it is to buy the DLC, if you don't already own it. I hear the DLC bot makes it a lot easier, but I don't know for sure, since I don't own it. So take that with a grain of salt. So unless you're on PC, probably no way to cheat through it, sadly. Ha ha. I hope my video can at least help you out in some way to get through it.

Sorry, I'm not too sure what you mean by the Jack bot thingy. Forgive me, it's been awhile since I last played Lost Judgement. Ha ha. Can you be more specific?
I cannot even progress my place button does not work.
You can only place pieces next to your other pieces. So at the very start of the match, you can only place pieces down next to the three or four blocks your team's bots started on. Make sure none of the pieces overlap as well. If this is what you're trying and it's still not working, then the mini game might be bugged for you. I think someone else in the comments mentioning it happening to them, but it seems to be a rare bug/glitch.

You mean the money specifically for the mini game, right? Not the money you earn out in the world with like gambling and stuff? If so, sadly I never found any quick way to make the money. I think you just have to grind practice battles until you finally get there. I'm not too sure which practice battles net you the most, if there is even any difference. Probably the ones on the final map, if I had to guess.

My AI does literally nothing but keep bumping into the enemies, it doesnt shoot, melee, or do anything, it just bumps into them without a stop ._.
And yes, i do have the robot frames that give the AI the capabilities to do something. It's just that it decides to not work 80% of the time and it drives me crazy.
Yeah, sadly that's just the luck of this mini game unfortunately. Sometimes your bots will just be dumb and decide to do nothing. Other times they actually do a decent job. You'll just have to keep trying until they finally decide to be useful enough for you to get the win. One suggestion I have is you can try changing one of the AI's weapons to the sniper. The sniper does crazy high damage, but it takes awhile to reload. Some people like to do 2 snipers, so you could try that as well.
Fantastic game! Tho Like A Dragon is far better, this was still an enjoyable experience. With that being said, whoever decided that you MUST pass these trivial, luck based, bs side games to progress in the story should honestly be fired…and seeing what happened with the studio, maybe they were 🤷🏻 In any case, thank you so much for the insight. I loved Like a Dragon. I got the platinum trophy for it on PS4 and then played it again on PS5. But sometimes the turn-based combat didn't really fit well with the pace of the story, IMO. But I'm sure they'll improve on that with Like a Dragon 2. And while I agree that having a pretty big chunk of side story locked behind these mini games was kinda lame, I still hope more Judgment is to come. I heard they have some issues with the actor that plays Yagami in Japan, so I don't know what the future will hold for the Judgment series. I'd like to see more, personally, but time will tell.

I’m considering going back and playing some of the earlier Yakuza games or the first Lost Judgement because I’ve ran out of legit games to play and if the previous one’s are anything like LAD I’m sure they’ve aged just fine and I’ll enjoy them. @@SebastianConrad Well the older games are like Like a Dragon in a way but also not. Like a Dragon was the first game to go more of a pure RPG route. All the earlier games have combat and gear more similar to that of Lost Judgment. Also Like a Dragon was a bit more lighthearted than most of the previous games. But the older games are still similar to that of how they do silly, sometimes over-the-top side stories you can do. A lot of people tend to agree that Yakuza 0 is the best out of the series. And sorry, I have only played them all on PlayStation so far. I know they have been making their way over to XBox, but I haven't tried playing any of them over there yet. So unfortunately I can't really help you there.

@@SebastianConrad Yes, I have played all past Yakuza games, except for the ones that never got ported over to the West (like Ishin). I even played the Dead Souls Yakuza game, which was a zombie shooter spinoff. I heavily enjoyed them all. Hands down my favorite video game series in awhile. Up there with the likes of Witcher, Batman: Arkham and Mass Effect for me.
Well Like a Dragon is the only one with turn-based combat, all the rest have combat like Lost Judgment (real-time beat-em-up style). As for mini games, pretty much all of them have the batting center, but how it plays is a little different in the older games. You basically just have to time your swing right, no aiming system. I can't really think of any that have a similar mini game to that of the share holder's meetings from LaD. The closest thing I can think of is the real estate business mini game in Yakuza 0.
Each Yakuza game has great mini games, though. All games have their own unique mini games as well as most share some of the same mini games. Yakuza 0 and Kiwami have a hostess club management mini game that is pretty fun. Yakuza 6 and Kiwami 2 have a "clan creator" mini game that is kind of like a strategy game. Those are fun as well. They all have the Sega arcade with games like darts and the claw game. I think all also have karaoke and pool (billiards). Most, if not all, also have the gambling games like Blackjack, Poker, Koi-koi, etc. I think pretty much all of them have games like Shogi and Mahjong as well.
I'd probably say 0 is my favorite too. Amazing story, great soundtrack, fun combat (again, not turn-based, though) and great mini games. You also get more of a backstory to Majima, which is a great character to the older Yakuza game (yes, the same Majima in LaD). I'd say Yakuza 5 is probably my 2nd favorite. There is just so much to do in Yakuza 5, it's insane! If you do everything that game has to offer, it will hold you over for well over 100 hours.
I did indeed play the first Judgment game. I liked it. I saw a lot of people say they liked the story to the original Judgment more, but I'd say I personally liked them about the same. Although I did like how they treated the side characters (like Kaito) better in the first Judgment game. They kind of got shafted in this one, story wise.

You can only place blocks next to blocks your team already has, and they can not overlap. So at the beginning of the match you can only place blocks next to the 3 or 4 starting blocks (which will be your base) that your robots start on.

I could be wrong, because it has been awhile, but sadly I don't think you keep any of that. The only thing you keep is the materials to make the parts again. But you have to unlock and make the parts again. Again, I could be wrong. If I am, hopefully someone can correct me. But I think that's how it was, back when I did it.

Hmmm. Are you sure you have the body type that allow the use of ranged weapons? That's the only thing I can think of. Maybe you need a bigger battery?

@@animestyle92 You lost the speed boost? If so, then that probably means you took off the speed body type. Make sure you are editing your AI robots with the other balanced body types. You can press the L and R triggers (on console, not too sure what it'd be on PC) to switch which bots you are editing. You should keep the robot you control as the speed type, since that speed boost comes in handy. Yeah, unfortunately you might need to buy materials in order to make the parts you need for the robots. But you should still have all the default parts you started with. I don't think there is a way to sale, or get rid of, parts, so you should still have them.

Remember that you can only place blocks next to blocks that your team already owns. So at the start of the match you need to go grab a gold ball to collect a block piece and then return to your base to set down the blocks. The blocks can not overlap as well. Think of it like you're trying to paint the board blue. I hope that helps a bit. Kind of hard to explain. Ha ha.

A better battery will increase your cost limits. So make yourself a better battery (in the video here, the battery I suggest, the L-KR60, increases the cost limit to 600), and then install it into your robot(s). That should improve their cost limits.

Why the hell won't it let me put the block down?
Make sure you're trying to put blocks down next to where you already have blocks. So at the beginning you can only drop blocks next to your base (the 3 or 4 blocks where your teams bots start). The blocks you place can not go into your other blocks, only beside them.

Ha ha, all good. I'll try to help if I can. You make blue with the blocks you pick up and put down. The opponent makes red. So at the very start of the round there should only be 3 (4 on the later maps) blue squares and 3/4 red squares. They should be right where the bots starts. The blue blocks your bots starts on is considered your "base". Same with the opponent and their starting red spaces. Try to put your blue blocks down to make a path from your starting blue squares into their starting red spaces ASAP, to hopefully win the game easily.
I hope that's what you were referring to. Just look at the blocks the bots started on. There should be blue under them (for your bots). Are there no blue squares there? Sorry if I'm misunderstanding your issue. Let me know if that helped at all. I hope it did.

But I actually went assault/mobile/assault, but it's all gray, even when the enemy or I place a solid tetris I see the + pop up. But the entire arena stays grayed out, just happened after the tutorial, I'm surprised I haven't tossed out my controller. Hey restraint, go me right? I'll figure it out.

I can't tell you how fast i went from enjoying every second of this game, to LITERALLY wanting to smash my ps5 with a f*cking sledgehammer!!!! This is the stupidest minigame ever put in ANY Yakuza game, in what just might be the BEST Yakuza game in every other aspect 🤦🏾♂️ I just wanna box man... i dont wanna feel FORCED to go to youtube to understand how to play some convoluted and underexplained minigame that I dont even wanna play anyway!!!
Ha ha, yeah I know how you feel. For me this minigame started off easy and then got stupid hard, and it really put a whole damper on things. That's why I put together this video, to hopefully help other people struggling. Sad part is, even with following these tips, a few of the battles rely heavily on luck, which is a shame. Hopefully you can get through it and continue on with the game. Thankfully most of the other school story mini games aren't anywhere as bad.

@@mishima433 Hmmm. Sorry if I'm misunderstanding, but you're saying you have parts that the game is saying you don't have? Sometimes you'll get parts to things you can't even make yet, until it unlocks in the later battles, which is kinda weird. Are you sure you're getting the right version of the part you need? Sometimes they have similar names but have a different letter at the end, or something like that.

@@mishima433 I might be wrong, but I think the shield can only be used on certain robot frames. Try changing the body type of your robot and seeing if it's there. I think any frame except the balanced one can use the shield, if I remember right.

I must have gotten lucky with the VR game. I don't remember having much issue with it. I think I may have lost once due to bad luck, but this robotics club I lost quite a few times thanks to bad luck. Funny how RNG works out that way.
@@BloodyTheSky for me I only seem to roll 2 and 1 while the ai always hits 4 5 and 6 all the time. Is the only side quest that i haven't finished
@@AMaidenlessRunt When the dice is rolling it has a set pattern. It's very hard to follow, because it goes so fast, but I would sit there watching it and calling out when the six appears. I'd say, out loud, "Six, six, six, six.". I would try to hit the button as soon as I was saying the word six. I think 1 comes right after 6, so if you're slightly off, you're going to roll a 1 every time. You could just play it safer and hit to roll when it's definitely not going to be a 1. But in the robotics club, if you get unlucky and all the block pieces spawn in front of the AI, there is literally nothing you can do. I guess you could destroy the other robots, but that's not going to win you the match. That's why I feel the luck in robotics club is a bit more brutal.

My favorite way to make some quick cash is to go find a restaurant that has "Find valuables" as it's bonus for eating certain things. This is better if you have the food skill (gluttony, I think). You will find a lot of gold and platinum plates, gambling cheat items and VR passes when you have the find valuables bonus. The VR minigame is another great way to make some easy cash.

Plus I grinded a lot to get the materials you can only get from the robot battles. So sorry, I don't have a tip for you there. I guess you're just going to have to do a few extra practice battles. Those reward funds, right? Sorry it's been awhile since I've last played the game.
@BloodyTheSky hmm okay. I don't had kuvh struggle with the battles maybe cause I had the season Pass robotic. After 3 matches you gain 30k¥ so you play the easy one. It's quick.

I didn't mind it too much. Definitely not my favorite, though, for sure.
Found it weird that just about everyone hated this mini game. I found it to be the most fun one. I think the key part that many is missing here is not installing the ai mods. Best ones are the chaser and the jammer ones. Equip chaser ai to a mobile and assault unit with the best weapons and watch them stomp the enemy lead unit everytime it spawns. Leaving you free to pick up pieces and make a beeline to the enemy base.
I agree that I don't hate this mini game at all. It's not my favorite, but also not my least favorite, now that I have played through the biker one. That one just dragged on a little too long for my tastes. And I agree with the AI mods. A lot of people tend to ignore messing with the AI robots, including myself at the beginning. Chaser and jammer are definitely good mods too, especially for earlier on.
It was easy until the first tournament round 😠
So true. The difficulty spikes pretty heavily. You can go from winning easy with the default robots to losing even with fully upgraded robots pretty quick. I feel the two hardest battles are also pretty luck-based. Even if you do everything right, not much you can do if the pieces keep spawning right in front of the AI and if your robots refuse to help. Thankfully the mini game gets incredibly easy again once you get the stealth mod, that makes the enemy AI ignore you.

I actually was too and that's when I figured out that it's way better to just rush to the other side. Have you tried just rushing to the enemy starting area and capturing their base? That makes things a lot easier until you get to Team NT and need to start putting mods and weapons on your other robots.

@@carltontheduke2571 Yeah, that's very annoying. Try putting ranged weapons on your AI teammate bots and hope they can knock out the bots that are pushing you around. Later on you get a mod that makes the opponent bots ignore your bot. That makes the mini game a breeze, but unfortunately you don't get access to it until later.

Yeah, this minigame seemed to drag on. This one and the biker one were the two that seemed to overstay their welcome, IMO. lol
