    I never realized what damage a cute cuddly otter could do, always thought they were kind of harmless. Learn something new every day. You have to protect your property.

      It was the otters property first. He should trap it and release it. No need to kill it. God made these creatures for a reason.

    Man, not sure how you tolerate all of these comments - people telling you what you should and shouldn't do on your property, people telling you how you should and shouldn't raise your kid, people telling you how to or even if you should do your hunting cabin, people threatening to unsubscribe if you don't do things exactly the way they think you should.     Dan, I always have carpet in my deer blind. Scuffing boots or dropping anything will definitely alarM deer. Just a thought. I hope that you guys have a great deer season and wish you luck on eliminating those otters.

    Several otters can rake havoc on fish 🐠 & Crawfish 🦞 populations especially in small streams and ponds.

      Otters are native to Arizona but I've never seen one in my 55+ years here, though friends have. I think they were once over-trapped to a point near-extinction, then reintroduced.

    They can be amazing when used to reclaim arid land. They can make a huge impact bringing other plants & animals back to areas where these things have disappeared

    I was sitting on the bank of the Arkansas River one Saturday morning about 40 years ago. I love to spend my quiet time outside. I was reading in the New Testament, look up and about 3 ft away is an otter staring back at me. Scared the begeebers out of me! 😂

    WE HAD 37 RAINBOW TROUT IN OUR SPRING THEY ATE EVERYONE OF THEM. WE HAD A POND VERY WELL STOCKED AND THEY ATE EVERYTHING IN THERE.

    Mr Daniel,I'd do whatever it takes to remove the otters because you know as well as anyone how bad they are for the fish,otters got in my brothers pond and killed but didn't eat probably 10 catfish that weighed over 30 lbs,just took bites out of them and left them to rot,plus a few bass that weighed over 12 lbs,needless to say they were dealt with accordingly,I wouldn't care what anyone thinks about how you decide to deal with the otters either,great video,keep doing what you're doing and may the Lord continue to bless you and your family.

    FYI, River otter season is December 1, 2023 until February 29, 2024. It applies to hunting and trapping. Tagging of taken animals is required.

    They tore up the water ways when they reintroduced in Missouri they ate everything. The creek i grew up on all wildlife disappeared

    I'm in agreement with you. I do think goats are the most stubborn animal nd another thing I believe is goats are determined to give their humans as much trouble as they can.
    I used to be a belly sleeper, now I sleep all over the place.

    If you had gone with insolation you wouldn't have to put up plywood, all you would need is a little wire and some staples to string across the studs.

    Otters are an indication of how healthy your eco system is. They are very territorial so you will not be over run by them. I take them as a good sign as the feeding is plentiful and also take on small snakes.

    Copper was being a bit stubborn about going next door to visit the ladies! Patience paid off this time! He just wasn’t aware of what was in store for him! 😂
    Hope the spray foam keeps your hunting shack cooler for you and possibly even warmer when it gets cooler.
    I agree with you about the otters. They will definitely clean out the creek of the crawdads and little fish and then will head to the pond when that supply runs out. They are definitely something that needs to be dealt with soon.

    You should have the installation at least an inch and a half to 2inches thick. . Depends on how cool you want to stay in there

    Dan..I was in a tree stand several years ago and a otter came running through the woods below my stand. They go all over. They will find the pond. Don't wait until your losing big bass. I said a month ago you were keeping big buck pic from us...just had that feeling with the look on your face. Waiting for the hunting videos....good luck houston....hope to see emma lee.     Give it a little time - it may move on down the creek. They gotta eat too. It’s different if it goes to your pond though. Trap and take it to the lake and let it go.

    we have otters that travel the vermillion river to east central illinois and have taken out alot of the local fishing areas and some of the ponds at the state parks in my area.

    I hope that was enough foam spray to make a difference to keep you and Huston, and anyone who joins you, more comfortable. Isaac is very interested in th ladies even if he's been retired. Copper seems leery of what you have planned for him. When he gets to the ladies he'll be glad you coaxed him to enter their area.

    Started with the 1/2 ton Work trucks. POS according to my husband and the trucks they supplied to companies employees for work 20 something years ago, the other parts in trucks GM has, windows, AC in cars and trucks etc. Ford: no window problems, no AC problems for 20 years plus so what’s the Deal GM?

    One of the bad parts of the otters is they don't even eat all of the fish they catch. They take a bite out and leave them on the bank. Kill just to kill.

    Looks like you need a second coat in areas. Especially the edges to keep them bugs & wasps out.

    Varmints are often ccute (raccoons, for instance). Beavers are beneficial, actually -- they do a good job of water management...perhaps not in Oklahoma, but elswhere...
