    Elizabeth!! THANK YOU FOR THE KIND WORDS!! Sorry I didn’t see this sooner! You’re the best!
    Also, little insider info, Anna and TH are still buddies! She got an amazing opportunity to travel the world with various music groups and jumped on it! She’s living the dream but stops by NYC every once and a while to say hi

      Count me in as the third ! He was the one that got me interested in watching watch repair videos way back in September of 2020! His easy manner and descriptive watch repair made it easy to watch his videos! OTOH, Jory the time teller lost my viewership when he whined about Rolex haters......to make a second video about it was just over the top!

    As a photographer, I highly recommended Peter Costa’s channel. He’s a photographer by trade and makes watch videos. The cinematography of his video is on par if not better than urban gentry’s. He reviews from affordable to moderately luxury watches.
    Just One More Watch is also excellent mostly because of the host’s quirky and likeable personality. He also gained a doctorate while making weekly watch videos. He reviews mostly affordable watches with the occasional true luxury models mixed in. Top bloke.

    • @HaveYouSeen
      @HaveYouSeen ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Peter always gives me the sense he's holding back. Everything is always great, which never feels like the real world to me. Does he not want to offend in general? Is he trying to keep watch suppliers sweet? Who knows. So I would agree that they're useful videos to get a look at the watches, without doubt. The opinions on the videos? Not so sure.

    • @Ballacha
      @Ballacha ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@elizabeth_grant please do. I forgot to mention he’s been hired by multiple microbrands to do official videos and photos for their websites. Top notch visual content from this bloke.

    • @Ballacha
      @Ballacha ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@HaveYouSeen it’s just how he reviews things. He does the same with big brands that will never sponsor anyone, not just microbrands who actually sponsors him. I like the overall positive vibe of his videos. After all youtube is mainly for entertainment. I don’t need others pre-digesting information and feed it to me as their opinions. I look at photos, videos and dimensions of the watch and make up my own mind.

    • @HaveYouSeen
      @HaveYouSeen ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Ballacha if that's what works for you - awesome. Meanwhile, I like people to have opinions. Even if I disagree with them, I like to see some passion. That's what's entertaining *to me*. I recently unsubscribed from Teddy Baldessarre for two reasons. One, TGV hammering on about watch dealers who review watches they sell. Two, Teddy’s continued collaboration with Kevin O’Leary, currently caught up in the FTX scandal. I follow everyone you mentioned except You’re Wonderful; I will check it out. I also follow Just One More Watch, Paul Thorpe and Jenni Elle. Oisin can be polarizing. He recently went after Britt Pierce, and had a very public spat with Nico Leonard over a watch he allegedly didn’t return after reviewing it. You’re certainly right about his video production - he takes full advantage of Venice as a location. I just subscribed to your channel.

    About the same for me. The Mad Watch Collector is probably my favorite, that silly sense of humor brings the stuffed shirt out of the watch game. Hands in both his roles is funny and sometimes silly while still being informative. Gringa is gold. TGV brings class and history. And I'll sample a bit of others here and there. I will say, Tim brings us the most beautiful, unique pieces with attention to detail without bias, judgement, or opinion. He tells you why each one is worthy of someone's collection, even if it is not me. While the goal is obviously to sell the watch and make money, I truly appreciate the approach and opportunity to learn about each piece

    As far as watches go, you clearly move in different circles than me. I have no rolexes or grand seikos or omegas in my collection. So in addition to Urban Gentry (who was my first watch channel) I highly recommend Just One More Watch and Relative Time, who both focus on watches that would be considered more affordable.
    For boots. in addition to Rose Anvil (who's the absolute top) Trenton and Heath, and Carl Murawski, you should consider Stridewise (who also dabbles in watches.) Eventually you should consider trying a good pair of Whites or Nicks, with the MP being my favorite.
    And if you wanted to complete your Hipster Trifecta, fountain pens are my main interest and there are many channels to consider: at the top are Figboot on Pens, sbebrown, doodlebud, and The Pen Habit before he went defunct.
    I just discovered you yesterday, but I admire your dedication to production values and your unique point of view. Please keep it up.

    Good picks. We have some snaps and aspects like you being heavily influenced by TGV - who I've watched since his early days - have been apparent since I found your channel. It's like when you see a band, influenced by another band you like. Good stuff. Also, kudos for making a list like this. In another guise elsewhere on the Internet, I make a podcast (not about watches!), and whenever I talk about other podcasts, the amount of people with hurt feelings that they weren't mentioned is always staggering. People seem to assume if you're a creator in a certain space, that you consume "all" the content in that space. Like you say in the video, there's not enough time for it. I also find it quite boring to watch scads of content on a topic I already cover.

This will educate you on qualities in watches, ranging from marine chronometer, Recent Omega, Patek Philippe, etc. Well worth your time!

    I like relative time and just the watch their format are more or less similar to yours, just stating the facts no un necessary distractions. Lately am into the inner workings of a watch with channels like diy watch club and magic of wheels.

    We seem to be watching the same channels. One I like is Hafiz J. Mehmood. He hasn’t made that many videos lately but his macro shots are awesome. Glad to see I’m not the only one who watches shoes getting overhauled to relax. I love the craftsmanship of T&H and Bedo’s leatherworks.

    My favorite channel - meaning that I will, without fail, click on their videos and watch them from start to finish - is Adrian Barker. Recently, however, I’m on a bit of a Mad Watch Collector kick as I often watch and appreciate the time and effort that must go into each episode. Peter Costa and You’re Terrific have really beautiful visuals and equally impressive content. Lastly, let’s not forget the king of affordables - Jody at Just One More Watch. I absolutely love his approach to the industry and his overall demeanor.
    Least favorite is an *easy* one. The Time Teller. I think the attempt made on his channel is to take the hard positions and unpopular opinions on watches, but it all just comes off too negative and whiny for my liking. I regularly ask TH-cam to stop showing me his videos 😂

    You should really check out Jody @ Just One More Watch, he covers everything but with a bias to affordable watches with excellent production and a hugely engaging personality that really kept me sane in lockdown.

    I enjoy your channel as well and give you a lot of credit as to how you handled the watchmaker review situation. Only other you tubers I would recommend are the Time Teller, Teddy Baldasarre, Just One More Watch, and one not mentioned a lot….IDGuy….he has a great voice and his watch content is great.

    1. Archy
    2.Federico
    3 Theo and harris
    4. Teddy
    5. The urban gentry
    6. Roman
    7. Watchfinder

    One of my favorites is Teddy Baldasare. The information he passes on is top-notch and he is never involved in the nonsense/back biting that seems to occur in the online watch community quite routinely.

    I agree with you like 98%. Huge Bruce Williams fan and Oisin. Patreons of both. Oisin Grand Seiko vid was so kick ass I have watched it several times. You are definitely in my top 5. Watch a lot of Teddy too. I can't stand that Nic guy.

  • @ljr35

    Stay pure Elizabeth - don't look up some of the toxic stuff Oisin has come out with recently (on live stream and in his instagram stories) - almost all aimed at Britt, all because he disliked her video on the dip in watch prices. it is really sad he has taken this tack, especially as he is one of the only Irish people in the space - I feel he tars the rest of us. I think we all started with TGV, interesting you stuck with him. I haven't watched a video of his in years. I can only take T&H in small doses but otherwise you are spot on.

    Great choices. They’re all fantastic. Another channel I’m a big a fan of is IDGuy. I love his focus on history and design. Maybe he’s gotten a little too Rolex/Tudor obsessed lately, but his content and insight are top-notch.
    The channels I hate are the ones about making deals, flipping watches, and/or have a prevailing obsession with watches as investments and status symbols. One of these TH-camrs said of the Rolex Explorer: “When I see someone over 30 wearing that piece, I think ‘God…I hope that’s not his grail piece.’”
    When I hear people talking like that, I throw up in my mouth a little bit.
    Here’s to the great channels, such as yours, that make substantial content that help enthusiasts enjoy the hobby even more.
