      Just put it on a different bridge and you should be golden.

    Hi, possible to create a tutorial on how to setup pfsense in proxmox using host built in wifi adapter as main connection? Been trying to setup wlo1 and vmbr0 to work together but was unsuccessful.

      You might just want to mount the adapter directly into the pfsense VM directly by mounting and PCI or USB device into the VM under hardware. It might solve your problems. I don't think proxmox was designed to do bridging using wifi, or at least I have never heard of it being done that way.

    thanks for this video, it saved me a lot of time. i was originally attempting this using chatgpt to guide me and it was convinced that for the LAN side i could setup a single interface in the proxmox vm that was VLAN aware and which would pass the VLAN tags to pfSense who could then manage them through pfSense's virtual VLAN interfaces UI... however, after much effort i could not get that to work. i followed what you did here though and it worked great!
    it does seem a little harder to manage the NICs in proxmox ve than it would have been in pfSense if I need to add more VLANs in the future... do you know if it's possible to do what chatgpt said and have pfSense manage the VLANs in this setup, or did it send me on a wild goose chase?

      I don't know what ChatGPT recommended, but trying to do it through pfSense did not work for me. I had a similar problem when I used pfSense on Hyper-V, and I used Hyper-V to manage the VLANs. Some have said they have gotten it to work, but I never did. All I can tell you is what I did works for me, and if it worked for you, then great!

    So I only have one Ethernet hooked to my switch from my miniPC Proxmox. I only see enp4so active as yes and enp5so as not active. Should both be active?

      I think they both need to be active for you to have them working with two physical networks.

    Hi can you make video how to setup proxmox pfsense, 2 vm windows same mac address

    • @BlaizeTech
      @BlaizeTech  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Don't think that is advisable. MAC addresses are unique to the machine and are used by ARP to figure out where to send data. A conflict, leading to unpredictable behavior, dropped packets, and connectivity issues.
      Unless you have a specific use case in mind like load balancing or failover.

    If you're not using segregated VLANs how do you allow machines on the PFSense LAN side to talk to Proxmox?

    • @BlaizeTech
      @BlaizeTech  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You add a "Linux VLAN" to the bridge allow the LAN side to talk to ProxMox.

      @@BlaizeTech Okay. Would you just use the set IP address to log in like normal from a LAN side computer?

    • @Tashal
      @Tashal 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      No, of course not dummy. After not tuning out the vlan stuff because I wasn't planning to use one, I actually listened to what you were saying in that section and figured it out.
      Thank you very much for the help and great video!

      @@Tashal Assign it to the VLAN, and it should be reachable from the LAN. That exactly how I have mine configured.

      Using OpenVPN can be a challenge. I've done that before. Stay tuned and I might be able to pull that off.
