I totally agree with most of the points you made. And hats off for putting together this video. I can't reveal names but I'm working as an Environment Artist/Level Designer at a studio and we are working on an upcoming AAA open world game along the lines of Saints Row and Grand Theft Auto, and I've been researching about different approaches to Level Design/Open World Quest Design, and I'm glad I found your video. I'm gonna try my best to forward this with the rest of the team and see how we can innovate the Open World experience. Thanks a lot for this!

This was a surprisingly well made for vid especially for a random TH-cam search too. I can't think of many open world games that do what you describe but at the same time, your ideas seem more like bold step forwards for the genre rather than linear games with massive amounts of bloat.

*an open world game with no story, just all side quests* 👌

The Witcher 3 has tons of reactivity and different changes depending on the order you play the quests. It also gives you a general objective most of the time, it doesn't force you to follow another NPC or to actually going where you are supposed to after you have started a mission. Disappointed in seeing you label it as just "pretty graphics" in the start of the video, expecially because it's not guilty of the sins that you attribute to RDR2 soon after

Elden Ring did fix some things.
