I tend to get a lot of blues who refuse to fight for these guys, and we end up all just chilling at a grace until the host either gets mad enough to just leave on their own or attempt to come fight two reds. I love it so much.
@L_O_W_K_E_Y-G Hey man, if it prevents an AFK farmer from getting anything I say my time is *well* spent. Besides, I have online schooling so I just do my assignments from my laptop while my character enjoys time with fellow tarnished around a grace.
@L_O_W_K_E_Y-G What's even crazier is a lot of those afk farmers aren't afk. They're either still at their screens listening/watching just to be safe, or are just doing it to troll. So a good number of them will realize something's up when they're not seeing any red after a while or aren't hearing the sound of getting souls/flasks.
I remember this one guy invading and just running away I don't even know where he was at one point as he just bhs away and I waited for like 30 minutes before he came to me trying to kill me He died
It’s working as intended. Miyazaki allows afk farmers exist, so invaders wouldn’t see “attempting to invade” notification pop up hundreds of times in one hour ER PVP. This really is a milestone of souls PVP experience.
The state of pvp is actually insane. It’s funny how half my invasions are like this. Killing about 20 blues before you can get to dismantling the afk host puzzle. “Invaders are supposed to serve as a obstacle for the host, they aren’t supposed to win” my ass. I seriously wonder how the average or below average elden ring player handles invasions.
Assuming we don't get clobbered in Ganks, depending on the area (such as Elphael Brace) you can wait out the Blues. The host can't send you away/sever invaders (most of the time. There was one time I believe that happened but there may have been other factors in play) so if you wait long enough, the Furled fingers and hunters will leave out of boredom and then you have a small window to fight the host 1v1. If the long game doesn't work, then we kinda just die or switch to duels over invasions (at least getting owned in Duels feels like a skill/equipment issue). *Edit: I'd like to add that at level 160 ish, you don't get as many invasions, but in the endgame areas where you can get invasions, there tend not to be afk farmers (though there are certainly ganks).
@@Eric188092 ah but that’s the problem. The entire state of pvp is the waiting game. Imagine trying to play all day. A quarter of that time is spent finding a match, another finding one where you don’t get sent home immediately by a fog or error connection, then another spent waiting for fp to run out or them getting bored and leaving. It’s like a 5 hour investment for maybe 30 minutes of quality invasions. Time better spent in another souls game.

Elding Ring is my first Souls-like Game (maybe even my last who knows) so I can't comment on the history of invasions in the series, but in the current state, if you really just want frequent PvP, invasions doesn't seem like the most efficient use of time for it.
@@Eric188092 unfortunately elden ring pvp has me jaded. Dueling system is pretty bad and unbalance makes 1v1s bland. Invasions system is messed up and a waste of time. Previous games had covenants and multiple instances of pvp. Dedicated arenas for 2v2s, 3v3s, dedicated invasion areas for massive chaotic group fights, boss rooms that you could invade as part of the boss, covenants that would help you or invade you in a certain area like a forest or a tower that they guard, expansive ranking systems and rewards, a covenant where you could either help or kill the host, etc. instant invasion cues, more stability and less disconnects, less disadvantages towards invaders, proper down scaling for overleveled phantoms, solo invasions so that coopers that want to play casually aren’t flooded by sweaty builds due to them being geared for ganks, etc. i could go on.
@@ates423 I can't disagree that the support for PvP play is lacking compared to those previous games. Did the previous games have them from the get-go, or did it have to get DLC'd/patched in later?
I wnder mohg's sacred spear weapon art would reach that far. I agro'd Ranni by trying it on the elevator ride up to her but range might be too short if your stuck w/o the elevator. Steelovsky; you a beast in pvp!

He wasted 4 hours of his life with Humpty Dumpty hunchback single brain cell troglodyte goober host which could have been used in stuff like drawing, gardening, boxing, playing piano and etc. Though I do appreciate the mental prowess Steev showed here not giving up so props for him.
I just kept thinkin a lightning pot or arrow or spell would be able to get him. Since the lighting strikes from above, wouldnt you just have to shoot the bottom of what he's standing on so the lighting strikes from above him. May not work but thats something I wouldve tried
I invaded an afk farmers world and I saw when the blues killed themselves I got runes so I stayed with the host for like 7 hours and made 1mil runes in the process.
My longest invasion was an hour long because my stubborn ass tried to wait out an afk farming player who wasn't even afk, I was killed by a hunter with a shitty bleed build, fucker acted friendly but noted to never trust a player with Varres mask.
If you sprint around for a bit and make a very sharp turn, your character plays a distinct "pivoting" animation that slows you down and locks in place for a bit. Sprinting and blocking with either a weapon or a shield prevents this from happening. If I remember correctly, you also took more damage while pivoting in DS3, but I'm not sure if that's the same in ER.
Just find your own hiding spot, put on mimics veil, and go afk. Then shrink the game and do something else. Does it make for an engaging stream? Not really but boy is the idea funny of wasting the hosts time like that

you can literally save edit and use cheat engine on pc, there's no reason at all to go afk, this guy is just a trash person.

The longest invasion I’ve has was 3 hours and 30 minutes In ds3. Didn’t expect to see an invasion go on longer than that.
When I thought Elden Ring PvP couldn't get any sadder. The game crash is just cherry on top of ER moments, surprised it didn't happen earlier.
