Wish I would have seen this video five years ago when I had to replace the pull cord. Took the whole case apart and some of the screws were corroded in place and had to be drilled out. This video will save me a lot of time should I need to do the job again. Thanks!
Watching this video gave me the confidence to fix my GenMax 3300i. It turned out to be more complicated, but my wife and i figured it out.
I've just done a EU22i, your video was really helpful. Was gonna rip the whole thing apart but this is much faster and easier to do. Thanks for this, much appreciated 👍
Hi! I foresee breakage happening down the road. A commenter suggested putting heat shrink on the rope while still new to minimize shriveling. Where about on the cord would you recommend best to place the shrink wrap? All along the rope till it can't pull out anymore? Would i be able to get the shrink wrap onto the cord by prying open the handle and unknot the rope?
Also, I am curious to know where along the rope does the breakage happens the most? I originally thought it was due to scraping on the ring opening from the pulls. But from some comments I am learning also due to engine vibration. Thanks so much in advance! Your way looks much more DIY friendier than couple of other video where so much was taken apart that I am pretty sure i won't be able to put everything back together correctly😂
I changed a few. Gotta take it all apart.
Excellent units the best.
@@RepairGang we have two that are 20+ years old on commercial construction sites..
They run all day winter summer
I changed oil twice maybe two plugs and starter ropes ....
The most reliable generator in the world perhaps .
I can run My Hobart 140 mig off it using .030 flux wire!!!
I tried yesterday but was struggling to undo the wire clips and was afraid of breaking stuff. Any tips ? Your video is much better than the shirtless guy who takes everything apart
Super easy to understand, thank you. BtW love the dark souls tattoo, any story behind that one?
Wow first person to ever mention my tats nope all my tattoos are video game ones and just a big fan many memories
I have an EU2200i, you think there will be much of a difference to replace? Mine is completely pulled out and won't go back.. maybe just a jam?
It should be the same I believe the 2200 are cam driven but should line up and ya something is blocking you
@@RepairGang Success story, had a friend take a look, he said just use a flat head and try to move the assembly spin* once moved a half inch it recoiled and is purring like a kitten again! Good to know though and going to buy another assembly to have as a back up.. Thanks for the video!
BTW it was super hard to find anywhere to spin the recoil wheel.. I ended up turning the flat head sideways with pointed end into actual channel of the wheel and gently leveraged to make it move the right way..
Will this fix work for a predator 2000?
@@RepairGang thanks for the reply man! Man shit. These generators are "cute" but they TIGHT as hell!
You very good man thanks
...hope I can do this on my Duromax. You explain this so easy. Thank you. 🤗 ...btw, nice tats!! 🥰😊 )0(
Ho crap I just realized we’re in the heck did I leave the handle? 😂 I’m watching the video to repair my good old eu2200 and I have no clue what I did with that handle.😂
Thank you! Just did mine! Fuel line popped off while wrestling the tank.. oops, messy lol
It’s like Honda went out of its way to make this generator as service-unfriendly as possible.
Lol 1st time for those
How many times you lose a screw.....I've lost count........
You aren't going to leave that gas spout inlet cover all jacked up like that, are you?
Lol good catch no I fixed that off camera they are a pain and y'all make fun of me how long it takes me to get them right 😂 good catch
This is a bitch to service
I’ve watched this video 743 times I’m still struggling
I’m a small engine mechanic and this video saved me so much time! Glad I watched it and tnx for the post!
