- The E class is getting some updates from Mercedes for 2021. Under the hood of the E450 is a 3.0L turbocharged inline-6 that is producing 362HP & mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. On the outside the E450 receives a new front facia, wheels, and rear bumper. On the inside there are major updates to the center console, and steering wheel. What are the MAJOR changes for the 2021 Mercedes Benz E450 coupe?

I really feel like people sleep on this model, it's so elegant and classy. I feel it is going to age really well. The e53 is on my short list after my 3 series. Also the width is really something I feel like it's way more noticeable in person, it's really striking. Great review Raiti, I hope your health stays well during these times.

I drive a coupe. People sleep on coupes because they’re not as practical if you have kids. For the driving enthusiast, they’re the way to go.
I love this car I plan on saving up for the E53 coupe and trade in my lexus RC when I get out of college
@@rigobertogarza7945 - I would much rather have a brand new RC than anything from Mercedes. If you have the money like that, lease one. Don’t ever buy anything from Mercedes/Audi/BMW, don’t throw your money away. They’re like expensive $lut$ you pay to have for a while and you pass on to the next dumba$$ so they can deal with the baggage.

I’ve had two other E class coupes. Great cars that are highly reliable, just love these things! I wait to buy them previously owned after three years under 40K miles. You can generally find them for about 50% of original MSRP, and still have another year of warranty. Rumor has it that MB is discontinuing all coupes after 2025 except the C class. Will look to buy the last year of this series.
I LOVE the pillarless design. having no B pillar makes it a much more beautiful car.
I have a 2018 E400 Coupe in Iridium Silver with all option packages. This has been my daily driver for more than 3 years (I bought the car when the current generation came out in late 2017). I never get tired of driving this car.

Love the interior especially at night when it's lit up like Tron-like ambiant lighting around the dashboard and trim accents.
One of my neighbors has this car in black, it is quite a looker. I do think that Mercedes does silver and metallic grays better than just about anyone though.

Mother had a 2017 gold E450 4Matic Coupe, great car. My only zonk are the 19” wheels - the 20” option looks so much better. Wheels make or break a car’s appearance.
Also, make or break driveability.. while it looks good parked, it substantially impacts its driving dynamics.
As a general rule, if there are 4 rim sizes, you want to skip the smaller one (which generally has a lower quality alloy) and the biggest one.. that makes the car slower, more uncomfortable, less reliable, and gives you higher energy consumption.

I will try man. It's actually difficult to do because the camera is right in my face.
To me the Mercedes connected driver display/ infotainment screen is the perfect design. I think it's the best dashboard design in the car industry. I know they've been doing it for a while now, and they feel like they need to update it, but I like it so much better than the Tesla-style giant screen they are moving towards now.

No matter how good this car is, no one is going to buy it and its resale value will be horrific. No one wants two-door cars anymore, and that's sad.
Silver or black seem to be the only colors offered. So imaginative!

As usual, another fantastic car review! Raiti (with Lori's expertise) creates the most informative car reviews on TH-cam! Love the E450 Coupe, but I wish you had mentioned (and shown) its most distinctive feature--the true hardtop styling (no B-pillar when windows all down)--making it really cool. Kudos to M-B for building true hardtops (both E-Class and S-Class Coupes.) Also, this model is available in beautiful Designo packages (unique paint and interiors.) Viewers appreciate your fine efforts to help us experience the vehicles virtually!
I had a 2014 on 22 inch rims. Traded for the s class coupe think I’m gonna go back eclass and actually pay it off this time..

Really not liking the new front ends, especially the headlights. This and the s-class just don't look as luxurious anymore.
Had to turn my volume all the way up to hear that exhaust. Barely could hear it.
The ‘old’ grill was so much nicer. This is supposed to look more ‘Aggressive’. It’s not! It just looks grumpy and sad>

@@RaitisRides I saw one of these over the weekend.. It was dark green with what appeared to be a panoramic moonroof because it was open and the interior looked almost white.. It said E400 4matic.. I instantly fell in 💘 Love!!! Now, I see your review.. Thanx!!! 😆!!!
Just bought a CPO 2018. Great review, totally don’t see much difference. Glad that the rear cup holders can also hold skittles.

I enjoyed this one because (you might remember what's coming) I'm still debating what I want for my retirement car. Now that you've reviewed an E450 (although we'd get a sedan), I'm still waiting for you to review a 2021 540i...then compare the two for me. I also like a M550i (haven't driven one yet) but that may be too much speed for when I'm old and decrepit! "Sorry officer, I thought I was allowed to drive as fast as my age!" 🤣😂 You know I also keep waiting for someone to review a 2021 Jaguar XF, love the new interior, but not the turbo 4 only option. I love Jaguar, so I ticked off that box by getting my wife the same XE that you previously reviewed. 😉 Sorry for the long message. Thanks! And as always...ON THROTTLE!!

Nice detailed review. However, has this guy ever driven the 2019 model? It has about 80 to 90% of everything he mentioned. Lol. The four-door facelift for 2021 is fairly obvious. However, the external refresh on the convertible and the coupe is not that noticeable in my opinion. Does anyone agree?

I have had an E Class coupe since 2001 until 2012 with name changes from the old CLK320 (oval front lights) and back to E500 Coupe before switching to SL550 in 2013. Biggest difference between driving the coupe and the SLK/SL convertible lines is the way it feels when driving. The convertibles make you feel like you are suspended in the air but very close to the ground with 4 wheels firmly planted on the road (very fun to drive). The E coupe on the other hand, honestly feels like you are driving in a floating box that is somewhat "high off the ground" (like driving a sedan). The evolution of updated models with Mercedes Benz shows many interior parts (in this mid-cycle refresh E Coupe) that are still shared with the current C Class interior such as seat adjustment buttons, etc. Only the redesigned S class will have all-new redesigned interior and exterior that will eventually trickle down to the rest of the line up in the years to come.
Also famously nicknamed in the middle east "the ant" !!

JJ McFresh ~ juicy, dripping juice mmmm body design > dang near perfect. I LOVE THE TAIL - no 4 foot thick spoiler, just clean artistically classic lines. engine produces enough power for me, I don't drive at a track everyday - around town > plenty of passing HP. the interior is SUPREME - catch up Japan & S. Korea = BENZ has this mastered. every BMW Coupe just had a heart attack. no torque drag, like waiting for a turbo to kick in, this baby puts down the force smooth. great report my man, thank you - tony
