I think you need land tutors in this deck as you are very unlikely to draw the lands you need in time. Crop rotation would be very good netting you a life and draw while also finding a land you need.
Here I am, watching the (awesome) video. Then you start throwing out these small creatures and say "we have a land for that." Casually tossing out a Tabernacle. I was blown away. Awesome man!
for a more budget version of this, what would you replace the following lands with? "Bazaar of Baghdad" and "The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale"? I think there is a land that makes everyone draw cards emmm... "Geier Reach Sanitarium". you pay 2 and tap it, everyone draws a card. not ideal, but it is better than 1200 $ which Bazaar of Baghdad costs :) as for the other land.. I think I saw an artifact or something that did the same? not sure. the original duals will of course be replaced with cheaper versions, I'm just wonder about those 2 lands. Edit: I found it, it's a blue enchantment called "pendrell mists" which says "each creature gains "during your upkeep pay 1 or bury this creature", so that can replace The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale. also, a question: what's the win con with this? it seems to lack one, maybe it should have aetherflux Reservoir?
You're running Nexus of fate in this too, right? Also, I built a vaevictus lands matter deck for a more casual table but after seeing this I think I need to go for a 4 color deck and go whiteless. Also, is there a craterhoof/avenger combo in there for the beats as an alternate win con since it's lands matter with tons of available mana?
Yes the updated version has Nexus of fate, auto include! No craterhoof or avenger. I think you could build a 4 color version of this deck. I haven't thought about it but it should be possible.
@@cedhtv I figured with access to Jund you get all the good lands creatures like Omnath locus of rage, Gitrog, Titania. Treating each as their own seperate win con could put the deck down several different paths for victory while still bringing in cohesion around lands.
Awesome deck tech! I was excited when she was spoiled and immediately created a cedh deck for her. Nice deck list too, though wouldn't it be better to cut some lands to add artifact ramp to start the strategy sooner, and why is crop rotation not included? Also, I highly recommend oboro, palace in the clouds to go infinite and unlike simic growth chamber doesn't enter tapped. ( for those who don't know, when you tap to play an extra land, you can play oboro, tap for blue and pay 1 mana to return it to your hand and the landfall trigger untaps the extra land dork.)
Also Toothy, Imaginary Friend (who can get massive from the card draw and Pir (to search up Toothy and add extra +1/+1 counters), Nexus of Fate (shuffles back into deck)
I am planning on getting a nexus of fate for this list. But now that nexus of fate is a top card in standard its a bit expensive. So I am going to wait until it rotates out of standard.
how many extra turns do you think is enough? do you think you should play all of them if you can? same for land drops? is the point where you think its a negative?
Good question. I think the ratio should be somewhere between 9-11. The land drop ratio is also tricky. Those you need more of. But you don't need all. 14-16 is a good count I think.
@@cedhtv ahh we agree on simlar numbers. the ratio I found that works well for me is 12 extra turns 12 extra lands (so a one to one ratio and a bout 1/8 of the deck being them so once you draw a card on your first turn you should have one of both) and then 12 utility other cards with the remaining 63 being lands. I find this deck really interesting because some things you think that can be amazing can actually put a crowbar in the gears.
I have made this deck myself, but I am still missing some important pieces like tabernacle. I edited your shell to reduce the land count to 52 and added cards like eternal witness and temur sabertooth which creates a possible mystical tutor chain of tutor -> GSZ -> ewit -> rebuy tutor -> gsz -> sabertooth -> return witness -> witness -> tutor -> time warp. I know this line sound like a load of clunk but i have often found myself in a position where i have unlimited mana and am able to pull this trick off. I am interested in the new 4 mana green enchantment which untaps your lands in your endstep for double azcanta in one turn. Thoughts about my ideas would be appreciated!
I don't see the need for the new green enchantment that untaps lands for this deck. You could accidentally go greedy and tap out. And before your end step your opponent kills it. Now you can't interact. I think your chain works. But it looks slow. And mana expensive. And I am not sure you would need it. But if you say that you have the unlimited mana to do it. Then I like it. Ewit is a good creature in general. Temur Sabertooth is also a good tiger! Nothing wrong with including them if you can exploit them. But I have a simple question. In the scenario when you had all that mana. And you could do that little trick. Did you need it? Would you have won anyway? If the answer is yes. I think your little trick is to be considered what is called a "win more".
@@cedhtv I have tested my Tatyova build in a small number of games yesterday and have a little insight on my ideas: Regarding the 4 mana green enchantment(Wilderness Reclamation): Your assessment for that card against fast combo decks is correct. Had my buddy kill it and proceed to go Flash->Hulk with me having Negate and Flusterstorm in hand. However, in the games where the Flash player got locked out of the game, the Reclamation was a BOMB against the other controllish decks at the table. I included Search for Azcanta in my deck, so having those two cards on the board helped me win a few games. In short: Don't tap out for Wilderness Reclamation unless you can back it up with even more interaction. Regarding my Mystical Tutor Chain: Since I am missing a few key pieces to this deck (Exploration, Manabond, Life from the Loam just to name a few) I figured I need a way to close the game out without drawing all cards in my deck. And like you mentioned above, Eternal Witness is a really good card alone. The only more or less useless card you have to run is Temur Sabertooth. GSZ opens the door to a small package of hate consisting of Rec Sage and Scavenging Ooze, aswell as getting to run another virtual copy of the Tap to put a Land into play creature. In short: Since I am missing a few pieces anyway, I like having access to Zenith to A find a game-winning combo some of the time and B dig me out of holes no other card could, especially considering that Tatyova is a big mana deck, where having 15 lands in play is no rarity. So in my opinion, the inclusion of Eternal Witness is not win more for me, but rather a necessary evil to include in the deck. Thanks for your elaborate answer, and hope to hear from you again!
Yes but I don't think she needs it. But you could have it hanging around in your wish board and then grab it if you need it with living wish. I do think living wish could be good for this deck. But I don't think we need lab man.
Infinit turns then just sit there and attack. A llanowar elves could do it. But There is a creature in this deck that put lands into play and creats really big tokens. So infinit turnes = infinit tokens.
I’m thinking about making a deck for her where I basically use your manabase and ramp but swap the extra turn for indestructible or annihilator. For a slightly less competitive playgroup. You think that be a good idea or something like kruphix be better?
hummm. I think less competitive groups will dislike you. Also, I have tried these mass destruction things. They are hard to pull off. But it can happen. How would you do it?
@@cedhtv im not to sure the basic idea was just extreme land ramp into the big indestruable stuff that takes over games like the eldrazi and blightsteel but If that didnt come to plan the idea would be to use land searches to put people in a strip-mine lock.
I've been playing a more interactive tatyova. Using the land draw as a value engine looking to win with Gardner, avenger finale of devestation or e-witness turns. Your list looks fun though however you have Skura tribe scout, oboro and simic growth chamber all listed twice. I reccomend using pact of negation as its similar to a second thwart and capsize as a second cyclonic rift. It should up the percentages of not getting messed up while still having interaction. Id also cut the land count down to 60 and add more interaction/ utility spells to ensure the win 60 especially with all those fetches and extra turns is more than enough to keep an engine going.
SInce Dominaria, I've had this little lady as a deck. Is mine cEDH? I don't think so, but I'm working on it. I do have a 4-0 record in multi-player against a friend who has a cEDH Jhoira (Storm/Stax) so I can't help but feel that I'm getting there. And I do agree that Thwart is SUCH an all-star, but I can't help but think that you forgot Gush *if you didn't, I apologize). Float 2 Blue, bounce those Islands, replay those Islands & draw 2 more? That's bonkers. Yeah, Gush at Sorcery speed feels wrong but netting 4 Blue, drawing 4 & gaining 4 life (once you're comboing off) can be the difference. Also, Amulet of Vigor for any lands that would enter tapped is so much value.
I think the biggest problem for Tatyova decks is that they include a lot of stuff they don't need. Cards that are good with landfall. Like Avenger of Zendikar. I am not saying you have cards like that inside your deck. But Amulet of vigor is such a card. You don't need it. It could just be a forest or a counterspell or an extra turn.
what I love about this deck and how i keep coming back to your video is even tho the concept is so simple tuning this deck is like the biggest bitch of nitpicking cause you got to experiment loads with stuff like thrasios, does it improve the deck? make it worst? what about kefnet? how many of these extra land cards should you play, do ones that allow enemies to play extra lands be worth it as well? what about one off effects like grow from the ashes or the new growth spiral card? how many extra turns cards is worth it till it becomes a brick? and you literally have to keep like a notepad or some thing to keep track. like "yeah grow from the ashes helped me ramp into her like 8 times, but how many times would it have been better as a land? the 2 land triggers came in useful sometimes as well due to them entering untapped to leave mana for an extra turn..." what about alhammerts archive? if tat is out its 5 mana (again) for a 2nd copy of her? is Magistrates scepter an acceptable extra turn spell?
A difficult question to answer. The right amount can only be determined by playing experience I think. Playing the deck over and over with variants to the card count. I haven't done that enough. I can only say currently that a high land count is desired. I don't think we need kefnet. And I don't think we have the mana to use Thrasios, I believe I did try him out in the deck but ended up cutting the card. But with different tweaks, things will work.
Nexus of fate and beacon of tomorrows will go back into my deck and be the only two cards left for me to draw. From there I have infinit turns and will never deck. All I really need now is a creature. A llanoward elves 1/1 will do the job. But I have more creatures. I think I have a 5/5 and Tatyova is a 3/3. And buduka gardener will create 25/25. There you go.
I can't play storm cauldron. How to say it. I plan to have two cards in my deck remaning. Card that cost 7 and 8 mana and loops infinit turns. If I have my commander and storm cauldron I will deck my self. If I play storm cauldron I have to get rid of it before I deck my self. Or kill my commander. And there is a risk that I might fail accidentally. There for I don't play it. I should add in that I haven't tested it because of this reason I just gave you. It could work, maybe it is easier to get rid of the cauldron then I expect.
Yes, should have that card in the tapped out list. I will update it. However I don't own it. Also in play testing I din't need it. But I think I will take out part of the watery vail I guess.
I really hate extra turns, but i really like this commander. Is there any other approach to this deck to be competitive or at least semi-competitive? Also really nice job you are doing here with cEDH. Keep going!
Yes, kind of. semi at least. You can play some land combos with 1) Magosi of the vatery vail and rings of berightenheart to copy the ability gaining infinit Turns. 2) Or you can combo with argothian elder and maze of ith then something to do during combat step with infint mana. There should be more stuff she can do. But those two examples are land combos.
Im playing her with wincons like Avenger and Rampaging Baloth, and Eldrazi's. Usually I can draw enough from lands to safely protect my board with counterspells.
I've been testing this build for a few weeks. It tries to extend the game as long as possible to out-value my opponents and win with a big spell. It's OBIOUSLY not T1 but it surprises many players. It can be improved, also I don't have some auto-includes like Mana Drain or Tropical Island. Feel free to criticize it. tappedout.net/mtg-decks/13-06-18-tatyova-benthic-druid/?cb=1528868704
I like your build. It looks like the typical Simic Rashmi build. And yes Tatyova might be better then Rashmi, hard to tell. You could skip getting tropical island and cut breeding pool for more basic lands and add in back to basic. You could almost play cursed totem, it will destroy on of your combos. Can you really utilize Aetherflux resivor? Sure you gain life but you will only be able to kill on opponent with it? right?
Yeah, its kinda a Rashmi build but more land oriented. I don't think that Tatyova is better than Rashmi, but its innovative in some way. I tried a "stax" build with Back to Basics and some other cards like Mana Breach or Overburden, but it didn't quite work on my meta. Aetherflux Reservoir it is indeed a little bit tricky and yes it usually only kills one person but its an alternative win condition in adition to Isochron Scepter + Dramatic reversal for the infinite storm.
I don't need mana I need lands. Because I need so many lands I have more mana then I can use. I rather have land then an artifact that gives me what I already have so much of. For this combo to work I need a high amount of lands, can't cut lands really.
Is... there an actual win condition in this deck? Yes, we can take infinite turns. But per the rules that would actually disqualify you from the match. If a deck can't win, then it is issued a loss.
Tatyova is a 3/3. attack with her untill they all die. We have more creatures. Boduka gardener will make 60/60 creature tokens each turn. And we have a 5/5. So NP!
Question, don't you feel that most cedh groups to be elitist? I mean why is edh not good enough, cedh isn't it's own format and I hope it never becomes one. It's no different then me trying to invent the lightbulb and calling it something else when one has already been invented.
1) No I don't think cEDH people is elitist. 2) I think cEDH is a format. I can give a link to some communities if you are interested. 3) Why would it be so bad of cEDH did become a format. If you don't like it, then why care about it. Just ignore the ones that do like it.
It isn't it's own format... if it doesn't have a separate ban list or rules than edh then it isn't a different format.... it's just edh. I'm definitely not interested in it becoming its own format either.
But then it is a format togheter with EDH. the c infront of the EDH is just an indicator to clarify that this is EDH focused on being serious and competitive.
2 generic mana for Terrain Generator not 2 colorless mana. Also you have lands as strategy answers and no land tutors so the deck is pretty useless in most situations.
@@cedhtv generic mana is mana of any color. Colorless mana has to be paid with colorless mana. The terms used to be interchangeable. It changed with the introduction of wastes. With a couple land tutors the deck is amazing, i took several ideas from your video. Sorry for sounding like a douche in my original comment, should have reread it before posting it 😅😅😅
65 lands? A bit too many. My gitrog, tatyova, and omnath decks all run in the mid 40s on land count. Powerful decks need powerful spells. Gitrog is still the best of them. Not even close.

If I posted a link here would you mind taking a look and giving your thoughts?
tappedout.net/mtg-decks/tatyova-competitive/ I find that this deck preforms well in my meta(wins often). But I still want to improve it to the point where it's the strongest Tatyova deck possible.
I am really tired but will come back. Tatyova has a big place in my heart. I can tell you this for now. You don't need the landfall creatures. Avenger of zendikar is big and stomp and a win more card I think. I think you will do better without it. The same whit the one that makes 4/4 beasts.
What would you replace with the landfall creatures? did you just mean those zendikar and baloths or what others would you cut? In my deck once I have 3 straight extra turns I usually find a way to make 10 landfall triggers and have one of those two out to finish the game but if you think there's a better way to end it I'm open to suggestions

And there is a risk that I might fail accidentally. There for I don't play it.
I should add in that I haven't tested it because of this reason I just gave you. It could work, maybe it is easier to get rid of the cauldron then I expect.
@@cedhtv well correct however i run lab man so i guess it wouldn't work.
Temporal Manipulation?
Yes, should have that card in the tapped out list. I will update it. However I don't own it. Also in play testing I din't need it. But I think I will take out part of the watery vail I guess.
I really hate extra turns, but i really like this commander.
Is there any other approach to this deck to be competitive or at least semi-competitive?
Also really nice job you are doing here with cEDH.
Keep going!
Yes, kind of. semi at least. You can play some land combos with
1) Magosi of the vatery vail and rings of berightenheart to copy the ability gaining infinit Turns.

The question is, how much it cost? That deck cost you a fortune.
True that! But I guess you could skip some of the most expensiv ones.
In your opinion, what is the downside of this deck? Lack of tutors? How about againts aggro decks?
Is there a multiplayer version of this deck?
Yes. This is a multiplayer deck. I only do multiplayer on this channel. I stopped playing 1v1 dual commander a long time ago.
@@cedhtv How come you're not running any of the traditional fast mana like Sol Ring, Mana Crypt, or the moxen?
I don't need mana I need lands. Because I need so many lands I have more mana then I can use. I rather have land then an artifact that gives me what I already have so much of. For this combo to work I need a high amount of lands, can't cut lands really.
That's fair. Thanks!
abundnce makes this deck
Fastbond? Tatyova's ability negates the life loss from fastbond.
Eastbound turn one would be a win turn one. Eastbound is also banned.
Is... there an actual win condition in this deck?
I hate how some are trying to turn edh into 100 card legacy/vintage.
You are ignorant and you will never be good at the game
This deck is good and very unfun to play against. Someone in my group runs it and takes 20 min turns.. sooo annoying.
Oh Damn, hehe, sorry. but it must feel nice crushing it?
Tatyova is better than horn of greed
2 generic mana for Terrain Generator not 2 colorless mana. Also you have lands as strategy answers and no land tutors so the deck is pretty useless in most situations.
Isen't colorless mana and generic mana the same? I think you can say both. I am sure there is a crop rotation in the deck.

Link to Oboro, Palace in the Clouds, it's great blue source that can protect itself can get you land drops
Also, I've built a Tatyova deck that I feel good about. If I posted a link here would you mind taking a look and giving your thoughts?
Yes post your deck here. I will take a look at it. What is it that you want your deck to do better?
tappedout.net/mtg-decks/tatyova-competitive/
I find that this deck preforms well in my meta(wins often).
Then gameplay I have in mine is making infinit turns by drawing my entire deck and only casting beacon of tomorrows. I can do this somewhat turn 3-5.
do u have facebook page or instagram?
subbed.
just throws in a casual tabernacle, shoots a $300 deck to infinite $$$
hehe. My tabernacle is a proixy.
Got a twitter
Yes I do. Not that big. twitter.com/cEDH_TV
cEDH_TV simple and boring.
Turns is a pretty boring version of the Tatyova deck lmao
Sad to hear so. I do belive this might be one of the stronger gameplans for tatyova. But yes you have to like to deck if you should play it.
