    My all time NBA favorite players are Jordan, Kobe, Iverson, and Carter. Vince Carter's mid range and 3 ball were underrated at the time because his phenomenal aerial expertise was always on display. To watch Vince and T-mac on the same team was special. His Iverson semi final dual in 2001 was special. Hoping he stayed in Toronto because he was Mr. Toronto before DeMar and Kyle. Vince was just special to watch.

    What I loved about Carter, especially when he first came around, was the power he brought to a dunk. He could fly like MJ, but would throw it down hard every time. It was powerful to see, and something no one was doing, combining finess and power.

  • @dominiccampbell181

    There was a time when Kobe wasn't the only player being called the next coming of Jordan. Unfortunately, Vince will always be in the same 'what if' category as Grant Hill, T-Mac and Derrick Rose, of players who were ruined by a severe knee injury before we ever got to see just how good they really could have been. A fully healthy Carter coming into his prime combined with an emerging star in Chris Bosh would have made a dangerous duo.
    Also that Alley to himself was copied from his cousin T-Mac who did it first 3 years prior.
    Man, back in the 90s there were two people everyone wanted to jam on if you were a known dunker, Mutombo and Mourning. Mourning was like a right of passage to properly consider yourself a dunker, and all of the great dunkers of the era had a poster on him. If you scaled Mt. Mutombo though, that was automatic legend status as a dunker. Pretty sure that dunks video will also show his Dunk Contest win. Just remember, a lot of those dunks he did, was the first time they'd ever been done in the NBA.

  • @hyperbomb02

    Carter had a short "prime" before the injuries slowed him down a bit and stole from us his full potential. If his prime stretched most of his career I think he would absolutely be in a goat discussion. Dude had a great 3 pt and mid range game to complement probably the best finisher to ever play.

    • @hyperbomb02
      @hyperbomb02 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AGIMJONES I would say 5 or 6 years. He lost a 2 halves of a season in Tor, was hurt his rookie year for the last 3rd of the season. When he went to NJN he wasn't exactly looked at like he was the player he was. I remember watching him the first game in a Nets uniform and he dunked and the announce said something along the lines of "bet you didn't think he could do that anymore."
      I'd say prime VC is 98-02. He had a re-emergence with the Nets, but he was already a different player at that point.

    • @sauce556
      @sauce556 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hyperbomb02 Id disagree a little bit. He was a different player by the time he got to NJ but he was also a more evolved player. And the statistics would say he had 4 great seasons in Toronto (99-02) started to slow in 2003. Then re-emerged as a great player in the 2nd phase of his prime once traded to NJ in the 04-05. Had 3 great seasons there till the end of the 06-07 season after which he began slowing down a bit. Although even after that until 2010 he was one of the few players beside Kobe & LBJ avging + 21 6 & 5. So still good seasons just a tad past his prime.

Vince is a generational talent who gets overlooked because he never won a ring and he never played anywhere long enough to "belong" to any of those teams. Arguably THE best dunker in the NBA
    Vince and Tracy McGrady are cousins and both started their career playing together at Toronto for the Raptors

    VC is in my top 10. Yes he can dunk in spectacular style but he can also shoot and play the ball like a mad man. I wish he had a better team around him in Toronto.

    Vince has the most buzzer beaters in NBA history, in case you all were just watching him dunk since he is also the greatest dunker in NBA history.

    Fun fact: Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady are cousins. They played together on the Raptors until McGrady left to fully showcase his offensive game at Orlando.

    He has been donned as the greatest dunker of all time he is the reason why the guy he jumped over never made it to the league back in 2000. It's a shame he never got a championship though

    To be a goat is different from being an impact player that evolved the sport. And it's just as important as being a goat.
