It just doesn't get better than this. Like, it just doesn't.

Thanks for the upload. It can be hard to get away from reductionist style thinking and I think Morton speaks in the manner he does to thwart this reductionist style.

@@chrisray9653 This is pomo gibberish. What is is the chemical of dark ecological chocolate? It's chemical is what Derrida calls the hyperreal subspace of cartesian dualism. But it's not a hyperreal subspace at all until you make it the sex positive symbiotic real. Solidarity is the name for christian colinization in and of itself. It strips away the imperialist race class of set theoretic gender specificity. Its outer edges perforoate the powerset of partiarchial n space.

great lecture yet no one kept a count of how much energy was used or wasted to deliver all this wonderful info... What a lopsided late-stage civilisation we have arrived at... Chocolate eh!

Part of Morton’s key tenants is that pleasure (i.e., this lecture) is not to be lost, but that the systems driving its achievements no longer be petro or agro centric.

it's about more pleasure than consumerism not less
think he's suggesting that the pleasure restraint of the eco-puritan thinking doesn't bring us to friendly ecological living > it just binds and restricts everything into an ultra efficient model that can't help but impose damaging scales and hierarchys
