Anchovies is an old old style toping, and it also makes a wonderful think to mix into the suace after truned into a paste LoL. But it is an aquired taste, and most think that they go onto it after when they're actually apost to go on before you cook it...takes the fishy taste away from them and replaces it with a sweet caramelized flavor similar to...Vandalia onions...but with just a deeper sweet/lightly salty flavor...but it like most things fell out of favor due to time, forgotten history, changes in taste, hard times, etc etc...I used to hate the idea until my grandfather introduced it to me when he got it...most places won't serve it as a topping anymore because of the fall in wanting it. The place that made it for him is sadly no longer in business due to the owners passing and the successors running it into the ground. Sad to I miss that place dearly many fond memories of great grandfather and grandfather buying from there...you think anchovies is a weird toping...my great grandfather used to get hogs brain and eggs pizza XD when he didn't feel like making breakfast. Loved the video ^^
Personally, I never got the whole pineapples on pizza hangout either. I don't eat it myself, I'm a plain and simple man, but if that's what you like on your pizza, that's what you like. I'd be more dumbfounded if someone told me they hated pizza in general.
