- Ross wants to teach his son, Ben, about Hanukkah, but Ben is super excited about Christmas. Phoebe finds out the renovations on her apartment are finished, and she’s afraid that Rachel is too happy living with Joey and won’t want to move back to Phoebe’s place, so she gives Joey a drum set to drive Rachel away, but Rachel ends up liking the drum set. I love how creative Ross was with his kids in order to get them interested in things and I love what he did for Ben here. Ben was very lucky indeed, having 3 parents who loved him unconditionally, and a whole group of aunts and uncles who loved him as well!! Ross/David is hilarious as Holiday Armadillo! ❤

Cole Sprouse was so adorably cute here, this is probably the only role he didn't share with his twin Dylan. Shame that Ben disappeared halfway through Season 8, he never even got to meet his little sister Emma.

Fun fact: Ross and Monica originally started the show as "typical Christian American" characters which is why the show had a Christmas theme in Monicas apartment each year. Part way through the series David Schwimmer asked to have his character changed to jewish, and subsequently Monica as well. This created a conflict because judaism had never been mentioned on the show and aside of holiday themes and church weddings the show stayed away from religion. Regardless Davids request was granted and both Ross and Monica were changed to jewish characters. But they still needed an excuse to decorate Monicas apartment for Christmas, that's why they kept Rachel living with Monica until Chandler moved in.

It's kind of hilarious in that not only does Chandler forget that Richard used to slip people money, but loses the ability to do it himself.

Another classic, iconic episode and iconic David Schwimmer as Holiday Armadillo. 🤣 And yes, you can be part Jewish. It's a matter of culture or ethnicity not just religion. So if only your mother or only your father is Jewish, and you practice Jewish culture but not the religion, you can say you are part Jewish. In fact, there are millions of secular Jews around the world who do just that. Also, the creators/writers of this show are all Jewish, they knew what they wrote.

This plot doesnt make sense - they had a reservation . Being told to wait 45 mins for a reserved table is quite a big deal.

It really annoys me when people act like "oh dreidel" is the only chanukah song. It isn't even a genuine chanukah song, just something some American made up. There are real chanukah songs, just assimilated Americans can't be bothered to learn the Hebrew.
