    My favorite cover EVER of any song...amazing!!

    They started out Zeppelin, and slowly transitioned it into Tool. They legit paid homage to the original, but made it their version during the second half of the song. It's not like most all other bands that either try to do the original as it was done before all the way through, or they change the entire thing from start to finish like Metallica's cover of "Turn the Page".

    Exactly. This version is sick. One of THE best covers that pays homage to and evolves the original.

    They also covered a song by Peach called "You Lied" and it's amazing. Justin Chancellor, the bassist for Tool, he was in Peach before joining Tool. Worth checking out for sure

    Give 10,000 Days another chance. A huge section of their fandom considers it their best album.

      I find it a bit dry at times. The title track and Rosetta Stoned are really good. The rest just doesn’t quite hit that sweet spot for me. I think it’s the production and mixing

    It's interesting to hear a little bit of King Crimson in some of the guitar work (Tool took some inspiration from King Crimson) here in a Led Zeppelin cover. You can definitely hear it near the end of the song. Great work by Tool.

    I like the megaphone effect of the vocals, makes it sound even more dystopian. I love this song.

    I think you can only find photos but they did play this Live a few times, one of their shows was on Halloween and they came out dressed as Led Zeppelin. They are huge fans and respect them a lot.

      @@Ogt92 I have listened to it a couple of times and I don't really don't think it's not bad. Listen to what the guitar is doing and end it with the snare drum. There's a couple of doubles in there no big deal. Give it a shot you never know.

    What is it with TOOL music! Am I limited in my experience? why can I listen to the discography over and over and never get tired of it?

  • @eyemoeba
    @eyemoeba ปีที่แล้ว +1

    stellar cover. i think it's fair to say that 10,000 days is a drop off from Lateralus, but it's also fair to say there's no bad song on it and that it is still a great album, even if the previous releases felt more like albums rather than just collections of songs - more cohesive. fear inoculum is as good a sounding album as you'll ever hear in terms of the clarity, especially the drums. i'd say they're a decent couple of albums to work your way through a song at a time....?

    • @mushroom11g55
      @mushroom11g55 ปีที่แล้ว

      Imo No it's not fair to say. They're both equally as good. Right In Two is S Tier. Lateralus might be better when you take Shrooms and listen to Reflection, Parabola. Every Tool album is equally as good imo.

    I'm a TOOL superfan so I love their entire discography. But if I have to be objective, the "real" TOOL start after Aenima. So if you stopped at Lateralus you missed exactly half of their grandeur.

    • @heyskipj

      "real" TOOL?

    • @prefono
      @prefono ปีที่แล้ว

      @@heyskipj I think you understand what I meant by "real". Up until that point they were a great rock band. At the time it was full of great bands that were emerging in the scene of grunge, alternative, metal etc. TOOL was initially one of these big bands. But then, with the arrival of Justin, TOOL stopped being one of those bands. They cannot be included in any category and from Aenima to date, TOOL only resemble TOOL. That's what I meant by "real" I don't mean older songs are bad.
