My favourite cameras. Optima Parat is my go-to point and shoot. No batteries, perfect exposure every time, absolutely top notch design and looks. Quality German engineering. Very nice video, thanks for sharing!
I recently bought a small box of 5 cameras on eBay for just 6€. I originally bought it because of a different camera and didn't care much about the others. I expected the Optima Parat to just be another mediocre viewfinder camera and was really surprised when I realized that it's a half frame camera. Now, the more I look into it, the more interesting it seems. Can't wait to actually try it out!
Thanks fle the in depth review! I recently bought an Optima-Parat and did not know if I would be able to shoot with it, but I'll do the test for the selenium cell and if everything is okay I'll start shooting 👌👌
Hey, great video! I tried taking my Parat apart but the top definitely didn’t come off after taking apart the two screws. I even managed to loosen the light meter connection to the point that it doesn’t work now. I’m sure I can connect it back and get it in working order if I can just figure out how to take the top part off. Any tips?
How do you campare Agfa Optima farat and Olympus Pen EED? I’m considering picking up one of them but the iso limit of Opima farat just pull me back a little bit. I’m wondering if 400 speed color film will still work well while setting it to iso 200 or not.
I happened to snatch the Agfa Optima Parat Compur from a local flee market this summer. I haven't shot with it yet. Are there any photo galleries that show how this camera performs? Any pointer appreciated. THX in advance
I remember in the past, there was a fixed price per roll of film. These days they charge me per print plus development. For 72 photos at 35 or 50 cents is expensive. Thanks

At one time, I was shooting a roll a week with this camera. Glad to hear that you enjoy yours, as well. :)
Just found 1 for only 20 euros with full case and mint condition, so happy !!

Bought it for it looks. And it makes nice photos too 😎
This is a very attractive camera. With no neck strap eyelets and a smooth body, make sure you hold on tightly.

This my mid-term coronavirus lockdown look. Not great. I'll shave for the next video.
