It's shocking to see just how many people have 0 experience docking a boat. They don't understand how the current is pushing their boat. They definitely don't know how to use fenders. Safety is out the window. It's a real chit show!!!
Pro Tip: have your dock line on the center cleat; not the bow or the stern. You can control the entire boat with that single line, instead of just the end it's attached to.

Sounded like the crack of fiber glass. would have to look at the inside of that hull section. I'd bet there is delamination and cracking.

I’ve never understood why inexperienced captains don’t make everybody sit. With folks walking around, throwing off the balance of the boat and while trying to help… they are just making the captains job harder. Let the captain doc the boat, tie it up & then others can move freely.
Also, inexperienced captains should look to dock on the upside of the current… wait if you need to, it’s safer & often faster…. Especially for single screw boats.
And make a hat or a t-shirt on that one
