- Tonight I'm joined by my good mate Dean, and we'll be setting out to show you some of our favourite underground speakeasies. We're on the hunt for those extraordinary and hard-to-find cocktail bars in the city of Melbourne Australia. We're off for a ripper of a night, so join us for the fun and adventures of two old mates checking out the best that Melbourne's cocktail scene has on offer.

First time seeing this video was last year when I was preparing for a contest that would earn myself a scholarship to Melbourne, after a full year I found your video again, and yes I won that contest ^_^. The quality of editing and music choice is class!

@Hoang Khanh it's called a sliding split screen transition using an animated crop effect. I use Adobe Premiere Pro, but you can find lots of tutotials on TH-cam for whatever editing tool you're using. Check out @Storysium, @Tutvid, or @PremiereGal if you're using PremierePro 👍

Awesome content, and thanks for the video I used it during my visit in Melbourne. One question though, how did you guys do the virtual tour with the map, any software in particular?. Cheers
Hi Christian and welcome to the channel! I'm glad you found the video useful that's exactly why I started making them! Feel free to spread the word 😀.
The software I use for the map animation is a purchased add-on that runs in Adobe After Effects. It's called Map Route Generator. You can get it from Videohive on the Envato Marketplace. videohive.net/item/map-route-generator/21686169 . It's not the easiest thing to learn (but let's face it neither is After Effects!) and took a lot to master, but I've done so many now I can now knock them out pretty quickly.
For the underlying maps I'm using another bit of purchased software called Google Maps Downloader. www.allmapsoft.com/gsmd/. I use Google Earth to get the lat and long of the area I need, plug in the coordinates and resolution, and it downloads the map panes from Google and then stitches them together into a single image. It's pretty clever.
