    Face seal couplers are a big improvement over the stock ones! Make sure to wipe clean the coupling halves prior to connecting and they will last a long time. They make a "bulkhead" version with a nut for mounting with a drilled plate, so the coupling won't move. The "O-ring" type of fitting is called a SAE O-ring fitting, do not use thread sealant on a O-ring type fitting.

    I love Hydros Plus!
    I have a feeling you might be getting their 2R/3E solution next. I have it and let me tell you it is a game-changer for my 2038r!
    Thanks for another great video.

    Those couplers look like a major improvement!

    I’m in the same boat. Recently bought my first track loader. Have Pioneer couplers on my tractor for a couple of third function attachments. Will change out so all attachments will interchange, plus have “better” couplers.

    Howdy Brock! Man I like those couplers... and since I have to replace my hydraulic valve block now would be the time to swap them in. Going to have to take a closer look at these. Well done and thanks for sharing 🤠

    We have come to the same conclusion and we are going to change out our Pioneer couples for the flat face for our third function attachments.

    1st 🤪, the flat face ones are cleaner for debris getting into the hydraulic's when I had my 3 rd function put on by bobcat I was concerned about it because not being to farm kind and they said these are way better we will change them if u want and they said that they are way cleaner and just have to wipe with a rag to clean the debris off .i also got an adapter that is useful when borrowing attachment's

    My tractor came with the flat face couplers....even with them, if the lines are under pressure you'll still have trouble hooking them up, but doesn't seem as bad as the other styles.

    I don't know if someone else posted this, I have a 1993 model case skidloader and it has the old style but one female and one male so I did it to my old tractor so I knew witch one was what, no more guessing.

      I think that's how they're supposed to be...at least that's how the flat face couplers are on my 3rd function on my loader....I just have to put the same couplers on the attachments when I get them, and seems to work fine that way.

      I like it, it's fool proof so if you have someone else helping they know what hook up to witch one.

    Oh me…. I gotta do this too. I just replaced two pioneer on my loader last summer… but now the other two are leaking. I guess I have to bite the bullet and do them all to flat faced.

    Hands down, flat faced are the superior couplers. They flow more fluid, reducing resistance and heat, cleaner and easier to connect. And as you have pointed out, you have a Skidsteer which are almost exclusively flat face. Switching your SSQA equipment to flat face would make everything shareable.
    HOWEVER, the tractor hydraulic flow is almost certainly far below the flow even for pioneer.
    My tractor currently has 5 hydraulic circuits, so just to change the tractor side, with 2 hoses per circuit, is 10 fittings, and 2 for each additional implement to convert. Now, as to any implement to rent or borrow, what couplers will they likely have on them? Or in your case, with your own Skidsteer, if the implement is using all the capabilities of the Skidsteer's hydraulic flow, can your tractor even keep up with the implements demands? I'm not even saying uniformity across a fleet is wrong, I'm just asking is that purchase and effort installing, worth any possible up side? With the price of just couplers, you could be most of the way to another implement to make the tractor more versatile.

      @wildbill23c 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you have all your own attachments, whatever couplers you decide to use are fine....but if you are borrowing or renting attachments it makes no sense to use a certain not as common coupler...I guess you could probably make some adapters for that purpose, but those flat face couplers are expensive compared to other styles, which is why most companies don't use them as standard couplers....my tractor came with the flat face couplers, as did the 3rd function valve.....but most attachments don't have them, they use the poppet style I think....so you end up swapping them out for flat face couplers or to whatever fits your machine.

      Well now you have my brain burning with curiosity, what tractor brand comes factory with flat face?

  • @tfunkhou88

    If you need to release hydraulic pressure to connect can you press it against something like you can the male regular coupler? Or is that not an issue with these on tractors?

    • @wildbill23c
      @wildbill23c 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, I'm sure you could poke something in the end to do so, but you'll end up wearing hydraulic fluid LOL.
      They're still gonna have resistance if the lines still have pressure in them, just like any other coupler....they just require a bit less effort to connect under some pressure. I just make sure to release the pressure before trying to connect the couplers anyhow.
