Wouldn’t a welder be way too hot for that tin foil float? I’ve always soldered since trying to weld one once and no matter how low I went all I did was burn through... maybe it’s me?

I have grease or red liquid gasket.

Gotcha, yes I’d def weld that too😉
The fuel tank is thin and welding is inappropriate.
Manufacturers also assemble the tank with solder :)
