I am collecting free homeschool resources so please, please send them all over! Try to avoid links as youtube flags them. Have you used Khan Academy? Thoughts?
We’re switched over to khan academy science and love it so far. After we finish island MCT, we’ll be moving over language arts as well. So excited for the free school resource videos coming up.
Something people should be aware that Khan academy does lean "Left/Liberal" with the presentation of information so the parent should preview the lessons and be aware that there is careful word choice to direct students to see information in a certain way vs staying neutral or giving both sides. Also for parents to realize: It teaches Evolution as fact vs the Theory of Evolution. We have come across some data stated in the lessons that have been proven incorrect and the data actually falsified.
If there are any sciences for highschool that arent super expensive (I understand free may not be an option). As I have started looking at the next step for science that require labs to get highschool credit I am genuinely surprised by the costs. I love Khan academy and crash course videos but it doesnt look like most colleges accept science courses that dont have labs...
Hmm. I can't decide if everything I wrote got removed. Let me try again. Labxchange has all the major sciences. It includes videos, virtual labs, ect and has them divided by grade level and into clusters. The clusters would make an easy curriculum. Georgia Public Broadcasting has two excellent high school chemistry classes. Chemistry matters and Chemistry: A study of matter. These include videos, lab handouts, ect. They are divided by semesters and units.
Is this just a homeschool resource or can it be totally fir homeschool? I am new and looking fir free I'm so fed up with my kids school I could explode😡. They are begging me ro homeschool them but everything is so expensive 😢
Free and available to anyone!! I have a recent series of videos on full years of great resources for free. I did 1 elementary, 1 middle, and 1 high school. There are amazing and free resources, you just have to find them.
Her obsession with the word "stinking" and its odd overusage as an ostensibly positive adjective is concerning. Coupled with the overuse of "underloved" one gains insights most glum.

Hi, we used khan Academy!!
Core knowledge has been a good resource.
Love them!
Funny timing…just saying to friends this morning that we don’t make good use of Khan. Thanks for the added boost!
I don't either! There's just so much available!

I've been doing my research! So many amazing options!

Parents should always choose curriculum based on their comfort level. Khan academy aligns with our views and our efforts to present secular materials.
So helpful, thank you! We are going to check this out.
We love it. It's so easy to add it or get a bit more practice. It also helps bulk up other curriculum.
Thank you! 🎉
😁
Looking forward to this series-would like to know if there are decent, free lower elementary spelling resources. Thank you!
I'm on it!

Something we do is group classes through our local science museums. They offer labs for the older kids like dissections.

If it had links, it was likely automatically held. I'll approve if I see it on my end.
And thank you so much for sharing resources!+

Everything is so expensive? There are so many cost free homeschool resources out there it’s not even funny. Give me a break 😂
@flankman9385 there are many amazing resources available, finding them can be hard. That's one reason I come here and share.
