Why do we need gourmet lime shipped across the sea from Italy when we have hydrated lime from the northeast U.S. -made from some of the hardest densest limestones in the world? They are slaked in steam- a much more energetic molecule than water- heck you can even get autoclaved lime in the U.S.- high pressure slaked.! We invented it in this country . No umpteen year water slaking can equal it. Heck its almost rubbery its so plastic. And all for the bargain basement price of $50 a bag? NO! $30 a bag? NO! Folks, how about $9 --yes NINE DOLLARS a 50 lb bag! But wait! there's more! You can get this from your neighborhood farm and feed supply! Yes! No need to order from Lower Slobovia or Eastern Moldyovia! If you come to your senses NOW and order before midnight tomorrow, we'll send you Popeil's Pocket Fisherman! Free! And this savings will allow you to buy low cost American made lime proof pigments from a whole pile of different suppliers than I have time to list.
The problem is as you said, rubbery almost plastic. I’ve used the North American products. They don’t compare. They are to hard, they set/ dry to fat and are not breathable. The list goes on and on. It’s apples and oranges . Thanks for your input
