    I did not know that Seth Rogan, Seth Green, and Pedro Pascal had their own roleplaying podcast. Awesome!

    Errata is definitely a pain when it comes to having hard copies of rulebooks

      Yeah; I loved 4e D&D but all the errata ruined it for me a bit by the end because my physically books were essentially useless.

    Thanks so much for the shoutout. It was a blast working with you all, you're a fun crew, and I hope we can do more sometime!

      The alliteration was nice too! But they certainly have; by the end of this AP and the end of this C&T series I think they will be properly educated!

    Ooohh, another 3-parter, can't wait to see this. Finally caught up to the current state of the game after binging through your stuff for the last week. Was fun to watch so far, it's nice to see more PF2E content and also something that feels more 'realistic' in terms of a table of players + GM. Critical Role is fun and all but not the typical TTRPG experience. Keep up up the great work!

    • @KnightsofLastCall
      @KnightsofLastCall  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yeah CR is great and all (we have weekly watch parties in our Patreon discord) but I agree that it's more like going to a broadway show than what 99.9% of actual RPG game tables would look, sound, and feel like.
      Glad that you are enjoying the content so far! We are trying to figure out what direction we want to go with the channel next as we have somehow picked up several thousand subs over the past few months and now need to think about actually really committing to making this a part-time job :D

      @@KnightsofLastCall I'm certainly looking forward to what you guys will make out of this channel and you can count on at least one german viewer to keep their eyes peeled for fresh uploads, hah! With me replacing our group's FOREVER GM next year and us all switching to PF2E as well (We're wrapping up a Kingmaker campaign that we started in 2016/15 soon) this is all very helpful so I'm really enjoying these lessons thrown in inbetween the episodes of your play sessions.

      Love it; I adored Kingmaker so I think making the switch over to PF2 will be an easy transitions after all those rules and mechanics of Kingdom management :D

    You can be unnoticed while in initiative. Say, if your party engages a big dragon and there’s an assassin hiding in the lair, and they have no reason to suspect this assassin’s presence, this assassin would be unnoticed.

    So you can "take cover" if you're, what, like in an adjacent square of something you could potentially hide behind? So if you're in a room next to the wall? What about it the lizard-man was in front of the pilar instead of beside it, could he still have taken cover and hid? Also thanks for this very helpful series!

    Maybe I have misread the rules, but I always read it as greater cover is never a thing you can naturally find. Is basically lesser cover - > standard cover - > no-line of effect. And you need to use the Take Cover Action to turn a standard cover into greater cover. And that is the only way you can get greater cover, by taking cover behind something that gives standard cover. The idea being that anything that gives more cover naturally than standard cover would also provide a no-line of sight/effect. But perhaps I have read the rules to detailed 🤔🤔

    • @KnightsofLastCall
      @KnightsofLastCall  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you look at the diagram in the book (where they are fighting an Ogre); they give an example of a character having greater cover "naturally" without the use of Take Cover (Specifically it's #4 with Kyra and the ogre)

    • @Jorelsin
      @Jorelsin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KnightsofLastCall I have missed that last part, but that lends to the fact that you can get greater cover without taking the take cover action 👍good to know 😎😎

    Just had the thought, if a tower shield requires a second action (take cover) to get its full bonus. Wouldn't that mean you have gained cover behind it and could then take the hide action to gain that flat check before being attacked. Okay it would take 3 actions and probably only last until the start of your next turn but if you were hastened could still stride or attack once. Just wondered what others thought about my interpretation.

    • @mattsullivan2458
      @mattsullivan2458 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question! Allow me to clarify:
      Shields(Tower shields included) do not normally provide any type of cover. Shields and Cover both provide a circumstance bonus to your ac(shields' circumstance being having your shield raised, and cover being an obstacle within line of effect) and therefore don't stack. Tower shields however, do allow a special use of the take cover action to gain that extra bonus to AC, but doesn't grant anything else that cover would normally provide.

    • @KnightsofLastCall
      @KnightsofLastCall  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with Matt; but it's a fun thought experiement! But!!!! Consider this!
      Action 1: Drop Prone
      Prone: You can Take Cover while prone to hunker down and gain greater cover against ranged attacks,
      Action 2: Take Cover
      Action 3: Hide??
      It certainly seems like it wouldn't only apply vs. ranged attacks (since the Greater Cover only applies vs. Ranged attack); but RAW it seems like it would work and at least kinda partially almost makes sense :D

    Stealth is one of the areas I feel PF2 went a little overboard. It makes perfect sense. The rules make perfect sense. But I feel like they made it more complicated than it really needed to be
    Either way, nice video and a good series that I'm certain will be much appreciated by many.

    • @nemonomen3340
      @nemonomen3340 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As you say, stealth is complicated. But I don't think it's too complicated _because_ the rules make perfect sense. At least for me, it's easy to remember the rules because they make sense.

      There is a reason why in most games that aspect is really hard to balance and implement well, it can be a hit or miss, integral part or irrelevant, so is fair that is complicated so you can adjust depending to your table.

    How strong is Legendary Sneak? It seems potent on any character in combat. Not sure how it compares to the other legendary skills though.

    Undetected is such a poorly worded condition considering they literally are detected. You detect their presence, but not their exact location.
