10 years UC suffering and many meds. Stelara saves me! I was very close to having colon removed. It’s been two years taking it and am doing 90% better. Hope Stelara is an option for ppl suffering with UC.
The McDougal Bugle Hi, I took lialda, prednisone, remicaide, Simponi. Started biologics approximately 1 year after diagnosis. I’ve been on Stelara going on 3 years and I am 90% better overall. Don’t know my score but Dr is impressed with my colonoscopies since Stelara.
The McDougal Bugle maybe it’s been 21/2?? When it got approved for crohns (I have UC) my GI doc prescribed it for me. It’s an injection I give myself every 8 weeks. He may have signed me up to be part of a trial, idk for sure. No I didn’t need an iron infusion, I stayed on FE C tablets.
Brees Girl208 I ended up getting an emergency colectomy on Feb 8. 6 months later and I’m still battling complications. Feb 7 was my fourth micro-perforation in 5 months. I had a fever of 103 the night before the surgery. I had taken 280 mg of prednisone the week prior trying to buy myself enough time to get on Stalera. I was days away from my first Stalera infusion. Never got to try it so pretty depressed. Very unlikely it would have worked. I failed Lialda, aminosalicylic acid, Remicade, Humira, Entyvio, Xeljanz, bpc-157. I also needed over 30 iron infusions from summer 2014 to summer 2019, on avg every 2 to 3 months, just to keep my anemia from spiraling out of control from nonstop blood loss on the daily. Glad Stalera worked for you. Wish I got to try it, I was soooo close, but I just gotta keep telling myself it wouldn’t have worked given how hardcore I failed everything I else. Sounds like I had a much worse case.
In Ayurveda Ulcerative colitis is correlated to “Grahni roga” in which mainly pitta dosha is imbalanced along with the kapha dosha. The Rakta & Mamsa Dhatu are affected in the body with this disease. These all are due to including excessive Pitta vardhak ahar in your diet. For a proper treatment of ulcerative colitis Ayurveda contain various herbs that act on the root cause & vanish it from there.
