Agree’d! Keep up on bike stuff! Been trying to find places to ride in the Spokane area…and hoping to see more places you like to go. Well…maybe next spring!
24 and 26 BMX bikes are THE BEST all-around fun bikes for any non-epic adventure. Riding 4 blocks to 7-Eleven on your $6,000 Dually isn't fun, but thrashing my 24" 35 yr old Mongoose racebike is! You can throw them in the back of your truck or bungee them to the roof of your Corolla without a care. They take 2% of the maintenance of some 1×11 hydraulic braked carbon dual suspension bike, and if you can ride, will thrash the fancy bike around town or the dirt lot behind the shop. I LOVE 'EM!!!
Cool variety on the channel. Got my fab fix with the "Jeep/Truck thing" new bed. Got the travel/off roading fix in with the Unreal Adv. Now more dirt with the new bike. Excellent. I'm ready to see the Isuzu come into the picture. Such an old school, utilitarian truck.
Love it. Keep going with the bike content. At 45 I hit the pump track on a 24” cruiser, ride EVERYTHING on an old cyclocross bike and shred on a proper modern hardtail….. and I have a 1 ton 4x and a dualsport I explore SoCal with as well. Love your channel and learn a lot, thx Bro!
City Grouds is the Devil! I bought the 1987 replica Dyno Pro Compe. It had the exact paint and graphics as my old one. I had to have it! Surprisingly, my wife thought it was cool. Cool nostalgic video.
We’ve had rain here in upstate NY so waiting for the trails to dry out. The bike content is helping me cope till I can get back out there. Love it, stay rad Dave!
Back to this spring I had never been on a mtb ever and I didn't touch any kind of bikes since I got my first motorcycle 14 years ago. But watching your videos opened my eyes and figured I would try it at least to stay in shape for the next season of cross country skiing. And now it's November there's snow here and I'm kinda sad I have to tuck my mtb away for the winter
My knees won't do single speed bikes on the street, let alone on trails. I recently picked up a GT Street Performer 29 from City Grounds. That's a 1x9, mechanical discs, and of course 29er tires.
I have a 26er still and I love it, they just corner much better than a 29er and easier to Manual .. Happy Holidays and the UA stuff was great .. the JEEPickup was awesome .. always great to see FRED !!!
Oh man, multiple Hobbies intersecting. I had bought my son a 24 inch haro mountain bike off of marketplace for 80$. He rode it for several years, and went up to a 26 inch jamis, and the haro was just sitting there. So I added a tall drop back seat post, BMX handlebars, and made it into a big 27 speed BMX. Looks pretty awesome man.
@thedirtheadshed they just built 4 miles of smooth trails, and something close to 27 miles of more intense mountain bike trails 2 miles from my house(southwest Missouri, on the Arkansas border). My son is almost 13, so we have been exploring more and more. After I Hit a few rhythm sections, I start thinking," man I probably need a full face helmet....." Hearing you talk about it makes me feel like less of a wuss lol.
The final drive ratio with 26 rims won't work up hills. I'm 54 and I still have my Redline PL20 with 401 flight crank. I also have my old Diamond Back Turbo with Harry Leary crank. My kids love my bikes. They're mint. See if you can find some old Hutch Bear trap pedals. Great video Dave
Wondering if you would come across these and not resist the temptation. I bought an essay fat quad a few years back and quickly realized I didn't need my mountain bike anymore. Soon as I figured out that I can climb just as well on that single speed as I could my mountain bike it was up for sale. So I use my 26 for trail riding dirt jumps and occasional skatepark sessions. Mine has front and rear disc brakes though, a definite upgrade on the trails compared to a single rear caliper. Love the two wheeled videos keep them coming!
I am really loving this video so far! My son and I also both picked up the ONN brand GoPro kit on our way out of town for a mountain biking trip. He mainly wanted a GoPro Chesty but we couldn’t resist the price of the ONN bundle. I hope you can continue to do a little bit of everything!!! I am a bigger fan of Mmmountain biking than pretty much anything else in my life. I do also really really enjoy watching the car shows as well. For me, your channel is PERFECT! Keep on kicking ass!
@ thank you tons! I totally get that you gotta do whatever makes the most income. Idk fully how TH-cam work. If you only make car videos, I’ll still watch your channel!!
Reminds me of when I ended up in the free ride area at Slaughter Pen on my solid fork hardtail fixed gear MTB conversion commuter. Wrong tool for the job, punishing, but fun.
I wanted a Dyno. My buddy had one growing up. Now that I'm older i my daughter needs a bigger bike and I saw kent still makes bikes. It's my chance to buy her a bike and when she out grows it it can be mine.
Haro brand of BMX bikes was one of the better brand of BMX bikes back in day when my kids are riding BMX. One of my kid had one, It's so tough that its more like a bullet proof bike. You must be an excellent BMX rider when you were young, Dave👍. You haven't lost your touch doing those jump👌. Because of the fixed gear, I think the bike is mainly for riding tracks. Just wondering if you had a sore leg muscles the next day pushing the tall gear. Ride safe. We want the vlog coming.
Wow, you gave that bike a workout on those trails !🚴🚴♂🚴♀ I sold my '81 Redline Pro line 2 back in 2018 ish. I had that bike since I was a kid and the frame , forks , front wheel and handlebars were original. I do still have my '87 Mongoose Decade free stlye bike in that 80s light blue. It's been years since I rode a bike and I prefer a hike. Also, I've been frisbee golfing since summer of '95 !
@@thedirtheadshed It was an awesome bike to have, and I could do a few tricks on it. If I ever find an OEM VW roof rack for my '86 Golf GTI the Mongoose will look perfect on top. My Dad bought that GTI new, and I built the engine w/ a 2.0L bottom end 😎😃✌
Man, bikes in the 80s, then bikes and Minitruckin with my VW, sport compact, and muscle car buddies in the 90s was peak teens for me. ❤ Love it Dave. 🤘🏼🏁 #PNW
Got an intense primer. Man I love it. You should look into intense for your next full suspension. My downhill bike and now my trail bike are both intense
Love this! I recently got a Verde Dirt Jumper to get back into BMX and it's been so sick! It's a little big for the skatepark, but around town and on trails it's so good.
@@thedirtheadshed You said you were getting more into MTB'ing for fitness. The one season I rode a singlespeed MTB in New England was by far my peak for fitness. So fun tearing up the trail not having to worry about dangly expensive bits.
I rode Haro as a teen in the 80's. Freestyle stuff, since we didn't have a BMX track anywhere nearby. A couple FSX's, then a Master with the bash guard. Great bikes. My first real MTB was a Haro Eclipse in 1990. Then a Binachi, then all Marin after that.
Met Bob a couple of times at the Nationals when they were held at Chandler. My ride was a dark blue P.K. Ripper. My brother had a Red Line Pro Line. Back in those days the jam was to buy Campagnolo hubs and cranks for a road bike and use them.
These big wheel BMX bikes are cool. I've been looking at the big ripper in like a 29. I've been doing the local critical mass ride and another social type ride and these types of bikes seem to be real popular for that. Lots of wheelies! but probably none for me.

@thedirtheadshed that's like a 21 hour drive from my house lol. I've heard the same. I've only been to Tokyo once. Not into the big cities. We are close to Nara prefecture. Kinda the middle between Nagoya and Osaka. ✌️
Dude, it’s bad ass. I used to race ABABMX started when I was seven years old in 1986-87 and went all the way til about 2004-05, then I figured out with age comes a cage. Now I rock crawl… lol 😂
The only bike I ever owned was a Mongoose a friend gave me. I remember the cops coming to my house looking for a stolen Skyway? They took one look at my beater and was like " That's definitely not it" I don't think I've ridden a bike since the 80s. Way easier to drive a car. Great memories Dave. Thanks for the flashbacks.
I’ve always had Redlines. Always wanted PK Rippers or Elf’s. I’m 6’5” so mini trucks were not for me. I had a Ranger single cab and bummed I sold it. But I bought a 70 Chevy stepside your Moms Spaghetti reminds me of it. I miss that as well. Keep up the great videos
i still have my Haro group 1b from the 80's when i was big into bmx bikes also have a few gt's, a redline and few other bmx's from the 80's i still jump on them every now and then they still handle the same as back then
Bought a 26” a couple years ago. Advertised for “the dad that used to ride bmx but his knees won’t let him anymore” which fit me to a T 😂 They’re a blast to ride!!
I was racing 2 nationals DH/ DS in the 2000s when Haro came out and had a Chris King kid riding for them, Watch him slip on a root and hit a tree. Dude was tough. Even made it to the podium
Luckily, it’s a single speed bicycle so it’s really easy to change gearing. Unlike a Jeep that takes four hours of trial and error to get the gear lash right after you change gearing.
who climbs a single speed full rigid, then descends hitting jumps and rock rolls, on street tires and only a rear V-brake? dave does! trucks & bikes..great content sir!
Your channel covers all of my favorite stuff. Between the rad four wheel drives, the killer hotrod and mini truck stuff or the bitchin mountain bike stuff. By far the best variety on You Tube. Keep it up.
Really digging the bike content! Also dig the usual content! For the chest mount be sure to mount your camera upside down and then find your angle from the “attack position” super view aspect ratio helps too. Happy shredding and wheeling bro!
BMX is rad! But hitting the trails, with a BMX set up like a BMX jump bike (low seat and tall gears), that’s gnarly man. Good on you. That would be awesome on a pump track anyway. You killed it on the downhills.
I had a frame like that with a sixpack in the rear and 80s mountain bike handle bars. Worked good! Maybe you could find sixpack and give yourself some lower gears. I believe my fork was a little offset though too. I believe it was called a Norco Mountain Cross, but would've been mid 80s so might be hard to find now.
Dammit Dave I was looking at a $750-1000 SC, but my last bmx was a HARO. That was a few years ago. My child hood bike was a HARO. I even had the Dave Mirra Haro. Let me know in a month or so how ya still like it. I’d rather spend less $$$
Dave! Back in the day, I was kind of a Cannondale kind of mountain bike guy. They were the “Bentley” of bikes. Now - not so much. Can’t go wrong with a Trek though. - OH! And Dave! You better go see a cardiologist! Love you man!
Commenting for the algorithm so Dave's wife will be cool with more bikes. If that were me, I'd be gassed from trying to wheelie the bike in the parking lot before the ride.
Love the bike content. For the chest mount, try putting the gopro upside down, then you can point it up towards your face (then it won't just show the top tube).
Be careful you don't blow your knees out - I keep the gearing on my 29r single speed (Redline Monocog 29r) pretty low and even at that I only use it on certain trails where I won't stress too much with it. I took my 24" cruiser out on some MTB trail and the combo of hard stiff wheels/tires, no suspension, and general rigidness of everything made it a very jarring experience - and the rear brake only (only good for scrubbing speed on the bmx track) was an extra level of sketch. Video on my other channel of that folly: th-cam.com/video/m1nQurHoRLA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=3totfUKDnpGmSbpn Might have been more fun if it hadn't been 90+ temps and almost the same humidity...
Take that to the BMX track at Dwight merkel sports complex. Super fun. Won't be open til spring though. Just got my old Dave Mirra haro up and running.
I remember flight cranks were about the same price, bargain. Oh sprocket problems. Yeah run a 32 front🙂 I bought a 24" Schwinn predator cruiser around 1985, stoked
Check you out on those doubles! Nicely done. You'd love a dirt jumper style bike. Not much different than your DMC but a lower top tube and seat tube so you can tuck and can can and overall not worry about your balls so much. #26aintdead
@ it becomes intuitive. I was flying down the road one day. A lady in an Eclipse pulled out, I jammed my back tire up, and slid upside her. I used my right foot to brake, extended my left to deflect the car, and came out unscathed. She was irate…but whatever
oh man Dave you are going to give me the bike bug again, i bought my mountain bike after seeing your haro mountain bike…. i can’t afford to do rad bikes, muscle cars and off road trucks…. what is a guy supposed to do lol
Don’t listen to the haters, bike sht is cool too.
I agree it’s cool. It doesn’t get the views though

RAD! Got me an old school BMX collection. Just impulse bought a Yamaha Moro 07 on a promo deal. Super fun bike. 🍻🇺🇸
I can’t stop looking for the next one!
Commenting for the algorithm so Dave's wife will be cool with more bikes. If that were me, I'd be gassed from trying to wheelie the bike in the parking lot before the ride.
Haha. I appreciate the support
Pretty Cool! I’d sound worse than you for sure. Great video gives me some inspiration at 64 to get of my butt and back on 2 wheels
Love the bike content. For the chest mount, try putting the gopro upside down, then you can point it up towards your face (then it won't just show the top tube).
Good idea! I’ll try it out
Yeah I'm a 44-year-old, as of today kid as well who rides his downhill mountain bike nearly every day while the car sits in the driveway.
The gratification from the bike comes way sooner and easier than that car build
You should get Odyssey clear brake pads. Your brakes will be a lot better. And it was an honor to meet you at the gambler 500.
My mate John was the brand manager at Haro. This was one of his babies 😅
Video on my other channel of that folly: th-cam.com/video/m1nQurHoRLA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=3totfUKDnpGmSbpn
Might have been more fun if it hadn't been 90+ temps and almost the same humidity...
No front brake!😮 Do you want to die?😂
This rules. DMC rules. Good bike scene up in PNW. A UA style adventure mixed with bicycle stuff would rule. Bike racks on rock crawlers.
That would be so much fun
Single speed in trails ftw.
I was working for it
Yay bikes!
Take that to the BMX track at Dwight merkel sports complex. Super fun. Won't be open til spring though. Just got my old Dave Mirra haro up and running.
Great old school look.
The correct number of bikes to own is whatever number you have now +1
I remember flight cranks were about the same price, bargain.
#26aintdead
They are definitely on the radar. Cool bikes!
Rad, I never ran brakes. I used to just foot brake my rear
I need to start riding no brakes on my bmx
@ it becomes intuitive. I was flying down the road one day. A lady in an Eclipse pulled out, I jammed my back tire up, and slid upside her. I used my right foot to brake, extended my left to deflect the car, and came out unscathed. She was irate…but whatever
Caved her door and left a vans waffle print…
If that blue hardtail is a Roscoe then it's a weapon on any singletrack
I think I'll finaly convert my 90s mtb into a bmx.
Some of those builds look really cool
Ow yeah BMX and Minis!!! 🤘
Bikes are fun. I just need to get myself in better shape before I jumped into a new bmx
You should try it on the BMX track over in Coeur d'Alene
Good call
oh man Dave you are going to give me the bike bug again, i bought my mountain bike after seeing your haro mountain bike…. i can’t afford to do rad bikes, muscle cars and off road trucks…. what is a guy supposed to do lol
Ask santa clause
@ that’s a good idea cause I hate selling my stuff lol
