Thank you for doing this video. We have had the same horror as Linda. They had 12 cats in this property we have just purchased and the damage is astounding. We have gutted everything we could and are now on day 5 of soaking in the odour remover. The front section of the house that dates to 1840 is responding much better than the back half that is only 5 years old. I suspect it's because the new materials are mostly compressed fibre products and not like natural timber and stone. I'm still a bit teary and I sway between optimistic and pessimistic several times a day but it is getting better. I fear that we will never truly eliminate it fully. You have given us hope at least. Thank you.
Definitely winning and the smell is gone in all the treated areas. We still have one room to go. Stone, cement and grout have proved to be very stubborn and we have had to remove most of it
I just bought a flipper house and the owners must have had a puppy mill inside. Every room and inch of carpet is saturated with urine. I had to wear a mask to go inside the bedrooms. i will remove all the carpet, pads, lower drywall and try to get the smell out of the concrete floor. It is a huge 1760 sq ft house, so it is going to be a tough clean up.
seriously guys all yu need to do is get a black light to show were the urine smell is i use a spray like a booster laundry detergent which is an enzyme powder spray on the effected area and leave for 5 mins and wipe ... go back over with black light and its gone and so has the smell ... if not re apply but it does work
after urine dries it leaves behind crystals which continually attract moisture, and that in turn creates mild and mildew. The enzymes in this and other products eat the crystals, it digests them. This this is not just masking odor, it's crucial to the health of the air in your home.
I like this video because of it's honesty. There is no magic bullet to get rid of cat urine odor once the cat urine crystallizes. I had to lift carpet, toss the padding, test the carpet first, apply a ton of enzyme, let it sit for days, test in warm humid weather, finally use hydrogen peroxide, dry and seal the sub-floor with shellac before I got rid of the smell. I must have repeated the cleaning process 20 times before no odor was present on warm humid days. Finally I was able to sell my home.
I was a breeder of Persian cats for several years. The thing that worked for me the best in removing cat urine odors is rubbing alcohol used straight. For carpets shampooing them with Mr. clean and hot water in a rug shampooer works well. After shampooing the rugs if they still smell, l spray carpets with straight rubbing alcohol. You can later soak the alcohol up with a dry towel or and leave it on and let it dry. I have not seen any damage to furniture or carpets using this. In my experience vinegar, ammonia or Clorox does not work well with cat urine and I would not recommend them.
@@zrpalette i feel just as frustrated with breeders. I wish the government would regulate it! Only allow specific ppl who would need to pay an annual fee or something
Thank you so much for the alcohol suggestion! I have tried everything and this is the only thing that worked and took the smell totally away. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Just purchased a flip house that had 5 Rottweiler's and 2 cats. The 5 Rottweiler's lived in the garage. It took 10 minutes with a pressure washer to remove the newspaper that was embedded into the garage floor. Were going to try Odor Fix Plus. You can only get it directly from the manufacturer at $140 per Gallon which is cheap compared to $300 for Rust-Oleum Epoxy Shield Garage Floor Coating. That's $100 plus $200 labor. I will let you know if it works. Also I ordered a Black light flashlight to find the stains. That was only $13.00 on Amazon. If it is only in certain area's I will buy a pint instead of a gallon.
Great advice Brian, I only have one female inside but numerous feral cats outside that have their way of getting in once they get a little tamed. The smell was & is my #1 worry so I am taking your advice & I thank you in advance for taking your time to help.
Thanks, Brian, for some valuable information and taking the time to share your knowledge with the public. This will help a lot of people who are desperate to get rid of cat urine odor.
I am not sure. Tile is normally not porous and does not absorb anything... so I don't think the smell has gone into your tile, unless it is a natural stone like slate, in which case it might have. However, the smell has probably gone into your grout, as that is porous and will absorb. I would suggest covering the entire area with odofix or a similar enzyme product, then covering the entire area with plastic for days. Keep the area saturated with the solution, give it time to work.
Lots of good information in this video. Thanks! I tried to convince myself I didn't need to remove the carpet, but the smell and dark yellow water never stopped, no matter how many applications I tried. The carpet is gone now and Wow what a stench below. Step 1, demolition is very important! !
Not to mention both criminally and civilly illegal with extremely strong criminal and civil penalities in 99.999999999999999999999999999999999% of situations!
I would assume so. You could read the label to verify, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't. I know that it works better than an oil based primer (like KILZ which does a good job at sealing odors but not as good as a shellac based sealer like BIN or ZINNSER). Just be sure to verify it is SHELLAC based, as they might make a water based, oil based, and shellac based product, so there might be 3 similar looking cans in the store.
A cheaper solution (though not as good) is vinegar and water. My girlfriends cat has been having issues recently where he urinates on the bed if no one is watching. Same with the couch, I mixed one part vinegar three part warm water and scrubbed at it until it stopped smelling. Theres a few other ways, been using incense to deal with the smell of the couch, that dried up before I got to it. Done a good job so far eliminating a lot of it but it still lingers on one of the pillows.
Yeah really! Who in the world would get down on hands and knees, possibly crawling through and sniffing for piss. I wonder if it actually eliminates the smell for animals or just humans because with their senses being so much greater than ours, any new animal introduced to area could start soiling it up again.
Remove smells - tried it personally For clothing or fabrics-Use washing liquid with ENZYMES. soak clothing in fairly strong solution of wash liquid with water for an hour or two. (longer the better), then wash normally. Also if cat has been spraying in the house mix laundry liquid with enzymes 50/50 with water. put in a spray bottle, spray affected area thoroughly, leave for 30 mins to one hour before wiping down, Laundry liquid generally does no damage to surfaces. Enzymes attach the pee, laundry fragrance covers the smell until enzymes wipe it out.
thank you for posting this. I have to clean a house I just bought. I searched and searched for help, this is the only comprehensive instruction I got. I can stop searching now. God bless!
Try Arm and Hammer dry carpet cleaning powder. Make sure after you sprinkle it, grab a broom to get the powder in between the fibers and It literally eats up the odors. I left mine on my carpet practically all day and before I went to bed, vacuumed it up and the smell was gone.
Actually OdorXit is $150 per 1/2 gallon. But it makes 16 gallons of product, covers 4,000 square feet of hard surface and costs less that $10 per gallon. Just do the math. His is $14.00/gallon. But that's ok.
No doubt Odor fix plus removes many other smells. Thanks for sharing an informative video. (Don't have cats, but neighbors cats come over on my carport).
I have started trying to clean a rental house that was horribly abused with cat urine & feces for years. About 10 cats were confined inside the house by the renter during those years. It is the worst I have ever seen. The smell permeates the entire house. I would like to try some product to remove the urine smell, if anything would work with a situation this bad. The house has hardwood floors downstairs, and plywood floors upstairs. No carpeting. Would this stuff work?
The Zinsser B-I-N Primer seals the smell in so it can't get out. This is the same approach hotels take when they want to convert a smoking room to a non-smoking room. They treat all the walls, ceiling and flooring (carpet removed) with a sealing primer. They do this because trying to clean out the smell is impossible.
Brian do you know what to use on carpet?? You only mention concrete, wood, walls, etc but say you never tried it on carpet. Any ideas? Thanks for the info. I am going to give it a try on a spot by my litter box where it soaked thru the carpet into the cement floor.
Thank you for making this video! We have 3 siamese and one of them is really territorial even though we have fixed all 3 of them. I'm going to use this on our carpet and see how it does. :-) This is a really helpful video b/c you've already done the reseach and found this product. You've saved me some time and money. Tx again!
FYI to anyone wanting to buy ODORFIX PLUS - the website only accepts orders, but there is no way to return the product for their 90 day guarantee. I even reported them to my credit card to see if it can be done. Clearly there is something fishy going on; maybe the company has gone under but don't count on getting your money back in case it didn't work for you. It didn't do squat for my problem.
There are many many different urine exzymes and strategies. Head to head comparison just like project farm does, would be needed. It probably comes down to a few that don't work, and for the rest it is all about price per gallon. The problem I have with a concentrate is that the mixing ratio on the label is for the weakest solution for the lightest of products. So, a 16 oz bottle that is supposed to make 5 gallons, may only make a gallon or 2 on really tough areas. The pre-made formulas would not be able to get away with this and need to work on tough areas or everyone would leave bad reviews.
So if I toss all the old carpet and spray a few feet up for the bottom of the wall like you said. How do I cover it with plastic a few feet up? I will also be doing the concrete floors before new carpet/hardwood.
There are several factors in treating cat spraying at home. One place I discovered which successfully combines these is the Makale Cat Cure (google it if you're interested) definately the best blueprint that I have ever heard of. look at all the unbelievable info .
odoban works well on surfaces wo ruining it...i even pour some in my laundry. I 1st geard of it being used in daycare centers. I rented apt where previous owner's cat peed on hardwood floors. First thing my dog did when going inside was pop a squat.... shocked me since she was older and potty trained. so i bought a gallon at home depot (about $10/gal concentrated) and literally poured it on floor then spread it w mop to cover the entire floor. Opened all windows n left for a few hours. it was still wet in some areas but just mopped over w soapy water to remove it....pets probably sldnt walk in it, since they lick their paws.
I keep thinking of getting down on my knees and scrubbing the floors with nothing but baking soda in some water. I read somewhere else that if you mix BS with a regular all-purpose washing liquid and scrub the area with that, it'll work. Any thoughts?
1 cup peroxide, two teaspoons baking soda, 3 drops dawn dish soap. Mix together for 1 minute. pour into cheap spray bottle. spray affected area. Removes cat pee, dog pee and SKUNK!
To Brian and everyone else who has succeeded in this... after letting the solution soak over the concrete and a plastic tarp is laid over for a few days... do you do anything else? do you try to mop up what is there?.. do you vacuum any dried powder residue? thanks
Thanks for the info you seem like a genuine nice guy please don't take offense if I ask if anyone else out has tried your advice with odorfix and can let us know how it went for then. Thanks .
I would like to try this but there is not company information on the web site and there in not address or contact number or any additional company information. I called the BBB and am waiting for company information to become available before I would make this purchase. If this product can be located in a local store I would try it. Let me know where you bought it from. The website is questionable because of the lack of company information.
Odorfix is the only enzyme cat urine remover that has works so well. Other enzyme based products just are simply not strong enough. BTW: I too believed getting male cats fixed... all three of mine are neutered and after a couple year two began spraying again. My vet say that neutering is no guarantee that your boy won't still spray.
One of my cats took to peeing by the door I tried all sorts but the one that really worked was washing the area down with biological washing powder leave if for a about half an hour then wash and it has gone :) try it as it is a cheap way to get rid of smell and stop them going to the same place. I also got a cat litter pan for each cat and have not has a problem since. Biological washing powder has enzymes that kill the pee smell and bacteria.
+maleka58 I just went to the OdorFix site and that thing really IS pricey. If it's concentrated, then I guess it's not that bad cause you'll get a lot done with even a small bottle. However, we've been struggling with money for a while now and I need to keep a tight budget, so after reading your message I must ask, WHAT BRAND of the kind of washing powder like the one you mention could I buy?
+Marie Bellucci It is very concentrated you can get a l.5 litre www.amazon.co.uk/Persil-Small-Mighty-Washing-Liquid/dp/B015J4OCW8/ref=sr_1_21/280-7171053-6625425?ie=UTF8&qid=1457713734&sr=8-21&keywords=biological+washing+liquid so not expensive goes a long way I get very large ones for my washing. But it must be a biological one or it will not work as that is what breaks down the cat urine bacteria which causes all this nasty smells.
maleka58 WOW!! I know Persil!! But since I've never been intesrested in buying it, I never actually look into what's in it. Yes, Nature's Miracle and Anti-Icky Poo (sold only online) are SUPER pricey. I've been thinking that the stuff this person mentions in the video, although expensive, also is concentrated so one can make much more out of it. HOWEVER, I have considerably large areas to cover, so.... Oh, also, that Icky Poo thing, despite being VERY good at getting rid of the smell, it did practically nothing for my cats' urge to go mess up at the same spot after only a few days and they claim that never happens once the smell is gone. In fact, after I released them back in the area, they went sniffing around and they spent quite sometime sniffing the same areas I had just treated. I will look into the products you suggest TODAY. Thank you so much.
maleka58 So, just to clarify, Maleka, sorry, I dilute it and either.... puor it or spray it on the affected areas and....? Scrub it? Let it soak in? O_o
just put a little (undiluted) on the area and swish it about with a wet mop. Leave it for about 30 minutes then just mop area clean with water :) Oh and if the area is next to a wall don't forget to wipe that down about a foot from the floor as puss will still smell it even if you can't and do it again. if that happens just repeat the process.
Being a painting contractor, we run into a lot of homes, rentals with pet and tobacco smoke problems. Painting the inside walls will not remove the odors as they are impregnated in the drywall, carpet, upholstery and drapes making the home harder to sell, or rent looks good smells badly. If you have to repaint, the inside walls add the Air-ReNu additive, works like a charm, no odor, no electricity, no filters. Air-ReNu is a permeant solution to odor and poor indoor air. Something to consider if you have an odor problem, their web site. www.ionicpaint.com
OxyClean works just as well, cheaper, and easier to use. This video is for heavy duty cat odor so it is perfect for the house with the 30 cats. If you have 1 or 2 cats and are looking to get rid of the urine or even spray odor, get a black light and some OxyClean. The Oxyclean is nonabrasive and it is virtually harmless to your pets...another words, you don't have to put Peaches out when using OxyClean.
George Negron Why not? If the cat is what stinks why will washing it not remove the odors that it leaves as it prances by? Cats around here smell and they leave the smell as they rub against stuff (like my car).
the only suggestion i have (and this may not work) is to buy that odofix product, at odorfix.com. I have heard that there are similar products on the market, but make sure it is an alive enzyme. You need to soak the affected areas for DAYS... and possibly even WEEKS. Cover the area with plastic so that is doesn't dry out. It works best when it stays wet. The enzyme solution will eat away at the smell and it will be released into the air so you will smell it coming out, which is good.
Brian Haufschild Brian Haufschild , Does this Odor Fix Plus product work on typical living room furniture? I have a blue corduroy recliner-chair and a black leather loveseat on which I need to remove some cat pee odor, and I would like to use Odor Fix Plus if it would work/be safe to use on furniture. Any idea?
I think I will have to get one of the black lights as I don't know where she has done it. Bless her, she is usually very good and lets me know when she wants to go out, but we had some relatives over and so our routine was messed up. they had small children and she was scared as well. im trying some of the tips with the vinegar and baking soda. I cant afford anything at the moment as have no income
Are you still able to find the Odorfix Plus? I've ordered it in the past but can't seem to find it anymore. Did they close or go out of business or sell and get rebranded? Any help appreciated.
Let me premise by saying this is probably a great product. However you can not eliminate cat urine from carpet. It soaks through the pad and down to the sub flooring. I learned the hard way by purchasing a house that had 4 cats living in it. They destroyed the carpet. The only way to get rid of the smell was to rip it out and then paint the sub flooring with Kilz max paint. I would say this product would work if you saw the cat pee right in front of you but long term you can not remove the horrific smell caused by cats.
I used this with great success but now I can't find it. Even their website appears to be gone. I ordered some last month and it never came and I got a refund. Is this product off the market? If so, any help would be appreciated figuring out what to do/use because it was the only thing that worked
I just got rid of a cat because it was SO STUPID and it couldn't aim in the litter box correctly. Someone has to be a complete PIG to live with THAT SMELL. NOPE! It kept peeing on my floors, so it's GONE!! I have bleached and used enzymatic cleaner on the floor, but I'm gonna use white vinegar. If the smell is still left then I will try the odor fix plus. THANK YOU
hey thanks for the information. I didn't realize this video was on another site, but that is interesting. I am curious to know how you found out my video is the main seller of OdorFix Plus...
sounds like you have a major problem. I would guess that odorfix plus alone will not be enough to eliminate all that odor. You will probably have to tear out some trim, drywall, floors. When you get to subfloors/joists/studs, if you still have smell, you could try the odorfix, and cover with plastic for days. Hopefully that will help you to not have to replace those...
What is the shelf-life of this stuff once mixed? Do you have to use it immediately? or can you pre-mix and have it on hand for days? weeks? Also, the odorfixplus website could use some help.
What makes, cat urine smell? The odor is made of invisible gases that have vaporized from the source. These vaporized urine odors float in the air attaching to the suspended dust particles. Al paint additive has been developed, that converts any newly painted wall surface, into a perpetual air, purification system no electricity or filters required. The Air-ReNu, technology permanently maintains healthy indoor air quality and eliminates offensive odors. One treatment will last 10-12 years.
Claudia - I don't think this will work well on carpets. It will be very difficult if not near impossible to get rid of cat urine smell from carpets. I guess there is a small chance if the carpets are in excellent condition and the affected area is really small, you could attempt several applications of an enzymatic solution. It would be worth a try. The key would be allowing it to soak for long periods of time. Usually, I just throw out the carpets, especially if there was any pet stains/smells.
I agree. I bought a house that had 4 cats and i had to take out all the carpet. I then painted the sub flooring with Kilz max paint. It defiantly helped a lot. It's still has a faint smell.
Brian Haufschild Hey, Just seen your video and like it. It is very essential and useful tips in the second half for remove cat pee smell. I also found very helpful for remove cat pee smell was Knewreck cat spray guide - if you need it should be on google
+Brian Haufschild Hi! I just like your video. If you would like to know how to remove cat pee smell I would suggest you about Knewreck Cat Spray Guide. Just do a google search to know more about it.
+Brian Haufschild Excellent thing! In exactly 4 days, you can stop your cat peeing outside litterbox! GUARANTEED!! There are essentially 3 MAIN THINGS you need to know about inappropriate urination in cats!!! Read here.. www(dot)howtostopcatpeeingonbed(dot)com
The previous owner of my apartment had a lot of cats. There is now no cat (and will never, ever be). But the apartment stinks. I will try your recipe. Hope it helps.
Hi Brian, Happy New Year! i liked your video and i bought 16 oz. of OdorFixPlus. I am very confident that this product is going to work! I have two bedrooms with a concrete floor partly damaged with the smell along some of corners and some parts along the walls. i cleaned it and dried it well. Before i saw the video i was advised to use bleach and after it drys, seal it with odor less primer. And only for the small areas it was able to get red of the smell. So it did not work, and i wish i could have seen your video before. I am going to treat the areas exactly the way you showing on the video and give it some time to work it self thru. i would like to ask you if i could use this same product also for the wall about 10"- 12" above the floor where they meet, Is it possible, or is there another way that you know, that could work other than replacing partly a Sheetrock? Please let me know, Thank you very much!

Here's an essential product if you have pets; Nature's Miracle (available in pet shops) and Kids 'n Pets (available at Stater Bro.s Grocery. Both are enzyme cleaners that only eat biological by-products (urine, vomit, wine, etc.). Because it only effects bio waste, there is no effect to resin, cotton, etc., but (big BUT) do not use on silk or leather. Anyway, it's the only stuff that will eliminate cat urine so well the cat can no longer smell it and react to it.
Hey all.. What about dog urine or ferret stank? We bought a house and discovered one room reeks.. Like, you can't even breathe. The floors are hard wood and we started cutting in on sanding. The smell was like a mix between urea and a tire fire. Ugh. We haven't finished sanding. I'm wondering, since I don't know what type of urine it is, what will work for urine in general and can this be done on stripped, bare flooring? Help!!! It's really disgusting. Thank you all for any advice.
I have not tried other products but I know that there are similar products on the market (containing live enzymes which is most important) I would assume they would work just as well
The link to the product is not in the description. There are several urin enzymes on the market, which you imply on the video that you have not tested, head to head. Price per gallon, per square foot, is probably the only difference, which you don't cover. I am not sure if I will bother to re-watch and find the name, for a product only sold locally, or is not cheaper than other products. If it were a price choice, you would have said it. I do hardwood refinishing and could use a cheaper alternative to the enzymes I use. I had one cat that peed on an 81 square foot area, so I bought 2 gallons of generic nature miracle, drenched the carpet, then ammonia drenched and shop vacced every inch, followed by an oxyclean drench and shop vac every inch, followed by a rinse and shop vac. This took several hours, but I was able to beat the cat urine. However, there was on incident where my mother in law broke my house rule of no shoes or dogs. In a very brief 1 minute event, she walks in in her shoes with the dog, who instantly pukes profusely in the center of the room. ..... I was unsuccessful at removing that smell on that spot no matter how many times I hit it or what, then shop vac. My hypothesis was that no enzyme will work fully. So, the ammonia would dissolve the crystals and the shop vac would extract the dissolved solution. The oxyclean was just insurance and might remove anything left and it had minor perfume or clesn smell. The rinse was because the oxyclean left a stiff residue. Soak, and 5 horse 3 inch hose shopvac to dry inch by inch. I just bid a hardwood floor with urine smell. I figured drenching and sealing with a supposedly dewaxed shellac sanding sealer by zinser. She intended to have the floors polyurethaned in a few years or less, and needed a quick fix to use her downstairs a upholstery work area until she recovered from a large state tax bill and could again afford a commercial space.
My cat has been peeing in the two corners of my dining room on my wood floors! I finally caught her in the act tonight! She is a big cat and is very naughty sometimes, scratches everywhere. This was 3 years ago, it took me months to train her to use her litter box instead of my house.
Elizabeth Earley Needless to say, I have gotten another 2 more because i love catsss. I followed some tips from Sarah's blog ( tinyurl.com/catpee3 ) that helped me get rid of my cat problems, so far so good.
Need help - We have a microfiber reclinng sofa that is not even 1 year old, my cat peed on one cushion which is NOT removable. We used a steam carpet/upholstery cleaner on it and thought it was fixed. Now, after two days of rain, the humidity has brought the stink back. The "contact us" on the Odorfix site does not work. Can't afford a new sofa so was wondering if anyone here tried this on cushions that were previously soaked with cat pee and if it helped. Thanks for any help.
On my ar air vents that cats pee in as they cannot get into the car I use like 10 ounces of hydrogen peroxide, three squirts of dishwashing liquid like dawn or other types and 1/4 cup of Arm & Hammer baking soda(WORKS FOR SKUNK SPRAY ALSO). I mix it up then scrub the affected hard surfaces with a sponge and Iw ear rbbuer gloves while scubbing rubber, plastic, glass and metal then I let it soak in scrub a second time then pour the remaining liquid down the air vents/air in takes on the outside of the car/under the hood. The liquid will go out the the whole made for water to leave when it rains or you wash the car so do not worry. Teh liquid mix will also take car of any pee it contacts in that vent system and run out onto the ground. You can use teh same mix to scrub tires or any hard surface that cats pee on like entry ways, plant containers etc. The best way to keep cat urine out of rentale properties is put a clause in teh rental agreement that the renters cannot have cats and if they sneak them in they are 100% responsible for the clean up,demolition and rebuilbing of the propery if their not allowed cats urinate in the property. Also get their social secuirty numbers and make them show a card, along with state I.d. Birth Certificate and at elast oen form of back back up I.d. with a major credit card to charge...a large security deposit helps andextra months rent. Over 78% of Cats carry a parasite they spread through their urine that cause brain damage and is belived to be responsible for 15% of all accidents on our planets according to the world health orginization and many docters. CAts have cuased hundreds of millions in damage across our country annually by urinating on the property of non-cat owners. We have lost many prize roses and plants plus claen up costs can be high. I use a legal live animal trap with a sardine as bait.
Ammonia just adds to the smell because it's the same smell as cat urine. When it comes to removing cat smell using that product, do you have to remove the cat from the area first?
The website might be a mess but they sent the product right away. No correspondence, no confirmation, just the OdorFix Plus. Now I'll see how it works. P.S. Bottle directions read: "Mix only the amount you intend to use immediately."
Brian, AWESOME VIDEO and yes, you should be getting paid by OdorfixPlus. We are in demolition mode 4/19/2015 3:13 AM EST (burning the midnight oil to get this done for new flooring) just ripped up the carpet and pad - Holy $hit glad we had mask. Is it safe to use TSP first on concrete slab and dry wall, because we have mold from the urine, and just to clean the urine from the concrete and dry wall, have you done this? Also, do we have to ensure the drywall and concrete is completely dry before using the OrderfixPlus. We have natures miracle, but after your video you have sold us. Please contact us back ASAP as we need to get our new flooring installed. We are Home Owners not Real Estate Investors. Thank you and look forward to hearing from you.
You mentioned covering concrete with plastic. Does it apply to wooden floors as well? Once the urine is extracted you mentioned the odor is strong and present. Is airing out the only way to "remove" the odor? Thank you kindly.
Very interesting video. As you said, it's best to get rid of the smell before sealing it. I'm curious if you still find this to be the most effective product...or, if you think there's a better product on the market now. Have you tried anything else?
I ordered this cat pee killer like he suggested. I used the black light from Wal-Mart, and marked everything with a paint marker. I tell you what, this stuff WORKS! It even worked on human urine! If your problem is really bad, well.. be prepared for some work. Use it and save yourself some work!
I JUST tried it on my carpets and I can not believe it instantaneously removed the cat urine odor which was very strong bc I had a sick cat a while back. Truly a miracle product.
I'm starting to think it's not. If you click on "purchase" it re directs you to PayPal, but the site says 1996-2012 in the bottom of its page. Testimonials look dodgy. Not sold ANYWHERE but their own website, which seems abandoned. Not taking the chance. I had been fantasizing about OdorFix for years, and I was about to get it but now..... NO WAY.
Will this product work on tile? My husband toilet trained the cat and no matter what I do the urine smell is in there I'm currently pregnant and need this fixed ASAP.
UV black light effective at finding the pee. I've never used this product in video but have used something I saw on Shark Tank called Pure Ayre. It works and has a nice smell to it. Best thing is it is completely safe and food grade. I have cats my whole life and it saddens me they get such a bad rap. There are responsible owners like me who have cats and at the slightest accident gets it out and back to clean. If not cleaner. People have been in my home and didnt believe I had a cat until they saw her.
Brian...have you had any success on this product cleaning carpets? I know below you said they are probably a lost cause. Also, did you remove the baseboard before cleaning them or not? Our cat urine problem is quite extensive in our basement in the corners where our beloved cat loves to go. I did not receive a confirmation email from the company who sells this so I am a bit worried it won't arrive either...
Hey... did it ever come? I hope that it did... n if it worked on ur carpet. .. pleassssssseee share... i have to do my stairs... we have a feral cat outside that must smell my cats inside.. n when it rains... it gets tracked in! I hate it! My front hall is beginning to gag me.. n my husband thinks its our cats.. soooo i have to prove him wrong.. my cats dont pee inside :( so their taking the blame for the outside cat :( not very fair.. n my cats are 15 yrs old.. so they're stuck in their ways n like tbe cat box thank goodness :) anyway if it worked.. please let me know:)
Sorry I don't know of anything you could spray down the vents... I would think they need to be taken apart and washed to be thoroughly cleaned properly. I do know that OZONE machines are effective at eliminating odor in the air. I've used them inside ductwork and inside houses that smell bad from pets/smoke/mildew/mold/etc. But they only clean the air. If you have a 'source' of bad odor that is constantly producing bad smells, then it needs to be eliminated, or you'll have to always be running the ozone machine to be constantly cleaning the air.
Did you succeed? It all looks like a scam, if you ask me. Or maybe it was still up and running in 2012, but not anymore. I was very excited to buy this but now.....
you can use a blacklight to find pee spots instead of having to sniff it out. We did it in our new house, and we found spots all over, we are disgusted!!
Good demolition, if cement grinder with diamond teeth, replace drywall, lumber..and oh yeah, nothing but nothing will eliminate the odor of cat urine unless you REMOVE the surface or REPLACE it. Also, any kind of scented soaps or cleaners which will fail and try to mask it with perfumes can be just as obnoxious as cat piss.

It is a huge 1760 sq ft house, so it is going to be a tough clean up.
seriously guys all yu need to do is get a black light to show were the urine smell is i use a spray like a booster laundry detergent which is an enzyme powder spray on the effected area and leave for 5 mins and wipe ... go back over with black light and its gone and so has the smell ... if not re apply but it does work
How much do you mix with water ?
Helped a lot thank you
after urine dries it leaves behind crystals which continually attract moisture, and that in turn creates mild and mildew. The enzymes in this and other products eat the crystals, it digests them. This this is not just masking odor, it's crucial to the health of the air in your home.

Thank you, that's great information.
Are men's dribbles the same way. Serious Q.
@@terywetherlow7970 urine leaves behind a crystal as it dries, hence the stink when it gets wet again or pulls moisture from the air
Thank you so much. I just used the alcohol

@@zrpalette i feel just as frustrated with breeders. I wish the government would regulate it! Only allow specific ppl who would need to pay an annual fee or something
Haaaa.....funny how what works for one. Not for another. We humans are a grand group. 🌟

Well, and that's a gallon of concentrate. How much does it mix up into when you add water?
Did it work?

Great advice Brian, I only have one female inside but numerous feral cats outside that have their way of getting in once they get a little tamed. The smell was & is my #1 worry so I am taking your advice & I thank you in advance for taking your time to help.
I would like to see a video on your process step by step on how you go about doing this thank you for this great tip look forward to the next video
Me too
Thanks, Brian, for some valuable information and taking the time to share your knowledge with the public.

I have seen on several forums that using a portable black light in a dark room will immediately highlight where the cat urine stains are.
I saw a vid using white vinegar.
Blacklight will also show where the cat has peed.
Yeah really! Who in the world would get down on hands and knees, possibly crawling through and sniffing for piss. I wonder if it actually eliminates the smell for animals or just humans because with their senses being so much greater than ours, any new animal introduced to area could start soiling it up again.
Remove smells - tried it personally
For clothing or fabrics-Use washing liquid with ENZYMES. soak clothing in fairly strong solution of wash liquid with water for an hour or two.
$140 for a gallon of odorfix!? fuckkkkkk that
That would make 10 gallons of solution.
I'm DYING to watch this through the end. I desperately need help.

Tx again!
Hi! I still haven't bought it, but I am about to. I wonder if it worked for you?
FYI to anyone wanting to buy ODORFIX PLUS - the website only accepts orders, but there is no way to return the product for their 90 day guarantee. I even reported them to my credit card to see if it can be done. Clearly there is something fishy going on; maybe the company has gone under but don't count on getting your money back in case it didn't work for you. It didn't do squat for my problem.
We used a product called Urine-Erase on our couch 3 years ago and we haven't had a problem since. It hasn't worked on our floor though.
I will also be doing the concrete floors before new carpet/hardwood.
a product called odor ban found at walmart or Sam's club works well also; also try orange colored cleaner.
Who saw bleach and ammonia in the beginning and thought what an idiot, he's going to mix those?

I don't understand why you don't just use a black light to find all the spots...
Some times it just everywhere. in our small hallway where the kats pissed, its everywhere. Better save than sorry.
I keep thinking of getting down on my knees and scrubbing the floors with nothing but baking soda in some water. I read somewhere else that if you mix BS with a regular all-purpose washing liquid and scrub the area with that, it'll work.
Any thoughts?

I would like to try this but there is not company information on the web site and there in not address or contact number or any additional company information. I called the BBB and am waiting for company information to become available before I would make this purchase. If this product can be located in a local store I would try it.
Female spayed cats can spray too. Trip to the vet may be needed to rule out a UTI or other health problem.
Where can I find this Odorfix? It’s 2024 and I can’t find it.
This is a good video but if you want to use something that is safer and doesnt use chemicals or masking agents then go to www.odorklenz..com
Odor Klenz If you want to use something that is even safer than odorklenz just use some soap and water and just wash the cat.
Garras Porgratix Great reply but washing the cat will not eliminate the urine odors.
George Negron Why not? If the cat is what stinks why will washing it not remove the odors that it leaves as it prances by? Cats around here smell and they leave the smell as they rub against stuff (like my car).
You could always use napalm
the only suggestion i have (and this may not work) is to buy that odofix product, at odorfix.com.

I can’t seem to find the odor fix plus. Where did you buy it?
If so, any help would be appreciated figuring out what to do/use because it was the only thing that worked

hey thanks for the information. I didn't realize this video was on another site, but that is interesting. I am curious to know how you found out my video is the main seller of OdorFix Plus...
Would your idea to remove cat urine odor, would it also work on dog urine? I imagine pee would be difficult to remove, all pee be somewhat equal?
I know I’m commenting this really late, but dog urine is way easier to remove than cat urine so it would probably work
sounds like you have a major problem.
There’s only one problem cannot find this product in any stores Lowe’s or Home Depot or even Amazon so where did you get this product

Tried this snd soouts honor. Gets rid of odor but not enough that the cat won’t spray there again. 😕
I live in Canada, where can I buy Odor Fix Plus?

An intense fear of cats is noted.
I do not find roses to be so interesting.
I can't find this product anywhere ! every time I search it, every product but that comes up. do you have a link ?
Maria Pena did you ever find it because I can’t find either.

Ammonia just adds to the smell because it's the same smell as cat urine. When it comes to removing cat smell using that product, do you have to remove the cat from the area first?
Signature car pee odor comes from the uric acid, not the ammonia
@@morganalayna4247 Same smell I said
The website might be a mess but they sent the product right away. No correspondence, no confirmation, just the OdorFix Plus. Now I'll see how it works. P.S. Bottle directions read: "Mix only the amount you intend to use immediately."
I *hate* the smell of bleach (ammonia too; btw, isn't ammonia also an element found in urine?)!
Thank you kindly.
so many questions and NO answers. that is NOT good.
Very interesting video. As you said, it's best to get rid of the smell before sealing it.
I'm curious if you still find this to be the most effective product...or, if you think there's a better product on the market now. Have you tried anything else?
huh,...apparently their website doesn't like shipping to CT
I ordered this cat pee killer like he suggested. I used the black light from Wal-Mart, and marked everything with a paint marker. I tell you what, this stuff WORKS! It even worked on human urine! If your problem is really bad, well.. be prepared for some work. Use it and save yourself some work!
I JUST tried it on my carpets and I can not believe it instantaneously removed the cat urine odor which was very strong bc I had a sick cat a while back. Truly a miracle product.
Celeste Stec what did u try?
the product that this man is talking about.
Is the company OdorFix still in business? I can’t seem to get in touch with anyone.
their website is still up. now you've got me thinking D:
I'm starting to think it's not. If you click on "purchase" it re directs you to PayPal, but the site says 1996-2012 in the bottom of its page. Testimonials look dodgy. Not sold ANYWHERE but their own website, which seems abandoned. Not taking the chance. I had been fantasizing about OdorFix for years, and I was about to get it but now..... NO WAY.
Will this product work on tile? My husband toilet trained the cat and no matter what I do the urine smell is in there I'm currently pregnant and need this fixed ASAP.
does it work on carpets?
UV black light effective at finding the pee.
I've never used this product in video but have used something I saw on Shark Tank called Pure Ayre. It works and has a nice smell to it. Best thing is it is completely safe and food grade.
I have cats my whole life and it saddens me they get such a bad rap. There are responsible owners like me who have cats and at the slightest accident gets it out and back to clean. If not cleaner.
People have been in my home and didnt believe I had a cat until they saw her.
well they must have quit making it bc i can't find it anywhere online
Is this product available in stores?
I have a senior cat who peed in two our our floor air vents. Is this something that I could spray down into the ducts safely/effectively?
Sorry I don't know of anything you could spray down the vents... I would think they need to be taken apart and washed to be thoroughly cleaned properly. I do know that OZONE machines are effective at eliminating odor in the air. I've used them inside ductwork and inside houses that smell bad from pets/smoke/mildew/mold/etc. But they only clean the air. If you have a 'source' of bad odor that is constantly producing bad smells, then it needs to be eliminated, or you'll have to always be running the ozone machine to be constantly cleaning the air.
Do I use a Shalac sealer on concrete indoors?
Please invest in a tripod, footage is so shaky it makes me nautilus. Thanks for the info!
Mobi Newley nautious?
Nauseous for fucks sake.
Although Nauseated would be the proper terminology.
Will this work for my small back yard
Me cat piss in me duffle bag. Any way to clean it out? I used everything from shampoo, mouth wash. Nothing seems to get that urine out.
try white vinegar
Any chance you can link us to the exact items you are using I'm going online but can't seem to find that exact one please
thank you

Did you succeed? It all looks like a scam, if you ask me. Or maybe it was still up and running in 2012, but not anymore. I was very excited to buy this but now.....
you can use a blacklight to find pee spots instead of having to sniff it out. We did it in our new house, and we found spots all over, we are disgusted!!
Anyone know which retailers carries odor fix plus? need to purchase ASAP.
Did you ever find out? I ran out and need more and can't find it.
Use a black LED flashlight to find the pee.
Will it work on upholstery?
Never use any ammonia-based cleaner.
Has anyone tried this "Odorfix Plus" Product on carpet? If so how effective was it?
Good demolition, if cement grinder with diamond teeth, replace drywall, lumber..and oh yeah, nothing but nothing will eliminate the odor of cat urine unless you REMOVE the surface or REPLACE it. Also, any kind of scented soaps or cleaners which will fail and try to mask it with perfumes can be just as obnoxious as cat piss.
