Art is like this; on the first stage you're so thirsty that you drink it so fast.on 2nd stage you're still drinking as fast as possible but this time you start to taste it. 3rd stage, you don't even know why you're still drinking because you're not thirsty anymore!

Hello Rob! I am an art teacher here in Brazil, and I love the realistic style or ultra realistic ... jobs are researched, studied a lot in my childhood by Norman Rockwell like ... I'm self-taught in the arts and the first time I walked into a school was to teach ... Well my dear friend use to display their work and encourage my students ... Do you use a colored pencil or a pastel pencil to sketch out the figure? its hard to tell but i feel like it could be either. Thank you for uploading the video it is always fun to see great artists in the process of making a painting/drawing.
thankyou I used a combination of semi soft and soft pastels the brands I favour are Nupastel and unison a few colours from other brands complete my palette
Do you use the rough side of canson or smooth.I am just starting to learn pastels. Also, how do you store your drawings. Do u use fixative in the end? What kind if any? So far, I am just putting wax paper on my drawings.. But, don't want them messed up.

Thank you having enough pastels is essential try different brands as manufacturers differ a lot in degree of softness I work with [nu pastels ] in the beginning and then unison and rembrandt pastels to finish

Hi.Thanks for the comments. The pencils are faber castell pitt pastel pencils - they sharpen easily & don't crumble when you use them.

The dvds have clear instruction on drawing and pastel technique although this is given dureing the filming of me painting the subjects
