- This event in 'If You Are The One', or 'Fei Cheng Wu Rao', has happened only once and is unlikely ever to happen again. In this event, the candidate, Gao Rui from England, had 24 lights left on at the end and had to turn off 22 lights.
He looked OK, not that handsome, but he had clearly impressed everyone, including the two guests and Meng Fei (the host), with the kind deeds he had done, his personality, his answers to questions, his honesty and his humility.

Her video was about how she did her makeup. She may look good but she is very shallow.
A man that is ready to get married would choose her. There have been plenty of male contestants on the show that have said they were interested in getting married within 1 to 3 years of matching with their date. he picked the other girl because the other girl would support his charity work.

He does kind of look like Edward Norton and I'm very impressed by his Mandarin, good pronunciation for a foreigner. He seems like a narcissists though, who craves attention and praise, just my shallow opinion based on first impressions though. He could be a nice guy who knows. And seems like he picked the right girl from the start, since she's also into social work.
He sounds like a conman. He went to africa to be a doctor? dont you need training and medical school to be a doctor. very good salesman and very charismatic though. and better chinese than me.

The guy speaks the language fluently, communicates clearly (seriously this is too rare with guys, it is higly in demand), and POLITELY, is respectful and friendly to the hosts as well as the girls, he is KIND and generous doing charity work, comes from a family that is quite well to do, is well educated, is still honest, hard-working and humble about it, is 28 (a respectable age, not too young and immature, not too old and set in his ways.), runs his own businesses and earns well, straight up said he would be LOYAL and not a player (which we established he comes across as an honest guy) presents well - neat and stylish, but also not too stiff, was able to laugh and joke a bit, has his own house and car, CAN DRIVE (really, guys in Australia or China being able to drive is such a turn on, the place is HUGE and easy to get stranded when public transport fails, you want a white knight to be able to rescue you from where ever remote place you are lost in.) also the fact that he CAN drive means he isn't drunk or high all the time which too many guys that age are, he even gives proper credit to the director and photographer a rare curtesy that only the best professionals do (having worked as a film crew member, let me tell you, this is appreciated beyond words.), he brings his girlfriend gifts when he comes to visit, and he looks like a handsome movie star (Although I'm seeing a young Micheal J.Fox, more than Edward Norton... which in my humble opinion are still two very handsome actors.), is fit and healthy (regularly goes to the gym), he pretty much clearly has everything taken care of, all he wants is a girlfriend that looks like all of the contestants. He is even willing to move to another country to live with the girl. This guy is the A+ Gold standard of a boyfriend. Like he is just a good guy. The only thing I can imagine would be a downside to being his girlfriend is that she would probably be feeling insecure about being good enough for him. (Which was probably what happened to the poor girl that resorted to plastic surgery.) and he chose the girl that would be kind and supportive of his charity work, which makes sense too. Like whoever ends up with this guy will have to be secure in who they are and supportive of his dreams and charity work.
I assure you, as a single Chinese girl who has seen the current dating pool in Australia... this guy is top quality and waaaay too rare! He's waaaay above average.

Many comments here are of the opinion that Gao Rui's success is due to him being a white male. That's not fair to Gao Rui, who is not just handsome, but also carried himself well, dressed well, and has a compelling life story. Sadly not. It turned out they lived in different cities and didn't get many chances to date, and the long-distance thing eventually didn't work out.

He was completely honest all through the show, nothing at all seemed fake, and he straight up said he was not a player and would stay with his girlfriend no matter what. Also, his friends said if he says he'll leave the party at 10pm, he has the self-discipline to leave the party at 10pm.

First I can't seem to find any info on him. From someone who created his own firm at 18, so visibly successful in all he does and with his full name I would have expected to be able to find some traces of him.
About the story: started to work at 10, opened his own company at 18, owns a house at 21??? and self described as "a winner" by 24. Even on a propaganda piece for the American dream they would not dare go that far. It might be possible but then again I am surprised not to have heard of it or to find any trace of it for this is the kind of examples media are desperate to show at the forefront.
It get worse. The tour in Africa is indeed something which sells very well ... except he went there for one year and in that time, at the same time, he was teacher and Doctor!??? and built plenty of things. All that still without a degree or anything (doctor and teacher!?) plus many meaningful things still in that same one year because else there'd be plenty of spare time right? Great pics for the occasion though I wouldn't be surprised if he modelled there.
The part in China with him modelling again and going to the gym (betting everything on his look) that I can believe.
But then again ... if he spent plenty of his life modelling and self described himself as a "winner" how could it be anything but false modesty to say he is not handsome? I can understand how great that sounds, the one quality he obviously has and which every one can see (plus his great presentation with his photo shoot) downplaying it will only make it appear humbler while not changing anyone's opinion on his look which they can see for themselves.
His exes don't appear all that sympathetic either described by him which by itself is a huge red flag.
I don't believe his story, I don't think his story is either consistent or possible, I can't find any trace of him on the net with the name given at the start (at least no one with that name having found a company nevertheless done it at 18) and since he is obviously a model I am starting to even doubt that Gao Rui is his real name. Hopefully I am wrong but what I see is a model from a Western family who likely was raised in China and who wrote the life he though would sell the best and then illustrated it thanks to his various photo-shots and then said the cliché things which he knew would sell best like "I don't think I am handsome" (but let me show you all the times I modelled for a living), "I think character is more important than beauty" (while choosing among 24 very beautiful women and remaining with the one he thought would be his favourite based on look).
If I am right that couple surely didn't last long for she would be doomed to find out soon enough the dishonesty. If however they are still together I would be hugely surprised and in that case please do forward me any info for then he would be a truly amazing man worth to take example from. I don't believe it to be possible but I've been wrong before.
I swear I never used to find Chinese/Korean/Japanese etcetera women attractive, but I do now lmao.
