Hi thanks for this amazing video! I have 1.5 hr to spare connecting from extra to infra Schengen I was told that my bags will be tagged thru since the summer season, Santorini airport will be opened for custom as well. I just need to do the passport control in Athens. Fingers crossed!!!!
Hi I'm travelling from UK to Naxos in September, I'm Schengen European nationality, and there is no check-in luggage. How much time do you think I need to transit? Is fast-track options will help? Many thanks
Hi! Since you will arrive from the UK into Athens you will have to go through immigration like I had to. This will add some time to your connection. The steps will be exactly the same as here in the video. It does help that you have a European Union nationality so you will be able to use the automatic border gates and since you won't have checked luggage you will be able to exit immediately since you do not have to wait for luggage. After heading upstairs you can immediately head through security again (make sure you ask for a boarding pass for your second flight in the UK airport already, this will save you some time in Athens :) ) After security it depends on which gate you'll get, how long the walk there is. As the video title suggests I did all this in 22 minutes (be it unintended due to delays) but I have to say it was very stressful! So I do recommend you to make sure you have some extra time, and calculate some time for possible delays as well) Also I was very lucky that there were no lines for security. But in September these might be a bit longer. All in all to be safe I would give myself at least 1 - 1,5 hour to be sure. Just so that you have time to get to your next flight without stressing. One thing though, if your journey is booked as 1 booking with the same airline they will get you to Naxos regardless! So do not stress too much about it :) Good luck, safe travels and enjoy Greece!
