    She's smart. She has a vocal coach! Every professional singer should have a vocal coach!

      +Spring Tank I would think that a professional singer would have a coach to listen and notice things that the singer would not see on their own and to help the singer correct those things.

      Josh Howes Interviewers in most cases are the worst part of the interview. I’ve seen interviews where we are really getting somewhere and I’m getting great insight and they interrupt!!!!! 🤬🤬🤬 I’m glad he corrected his mistake, but most of them don’t even notice what they’ve done and if it’s Mariah Carey on the verge of revealing something new I get hella PISSED I’m for real! 😂 I want to hunt that interviewer down! 😤

    This is the reason why out of the modern DIVA VOCAL TRINITY (Whitney, Mariah, & Celine) shes the only one who've managed to keep her voice as she ages. A great singer's voice should only grow stronger as they age, through the perfection of their technique, and Celine is basically one of those singers.

    • @cyt6658
      @cyt6658 9 ปีที่แล้ว +52

      It's different circumstances for all of them. I have no doubts that if Whitney hadn't gone down the path of drugs and smoking and not toured as relentlessly as she did and sang LIVE nearly all the time in her prime, her voice would have remained pretty much in tact into her later years and she'd still be alive. With Mariah, she's had nodules since she was little, learnt to miraculously sing through them and extend her range at both ends but never got rid of them, which in turn aged her voice a lot faster than it would normally. Celine, who actually has/had the most flawed technique of all three of them (no hate or shade because I like her and think she's a good singer but it's the truth), got nodules in the 90s, rehabilitated properly (unlike the other two) and recovered well enough. Her technique has improved over the years but it's still not perfect and recently she's cancelled loads of tours due to a vocal problem (and family).

    • @cyt6658
      @cyt6658 9 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Hoosiers No she didn't. Her projection, her resonance, her placement, her larynx position and her connected head voice were definitely ahead of Celine's. Celine would often strain and push her larynx to reach upper notes, her lower register was unsupported and she'd sometimes push her larynx down, she nearly always sings with a nasal placement throughout her range which results in a less resonant and thinner sound and her head voice is not as full or connected as Whitney's was. Whitney's only big flaw was her upper belts, while Celine beat her here mainly because she has 1) a lighter, higher voice and 2) her nasal placement allows her to access this area more easily.

    • @buttacudawey
      @buttacudawey 9 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      CY T the only reason why Whitney's voice started to strain was because of the drugs..other than that she is at the top with Celine Dion....Mariyah Carey's voice isn't that strong.

    • @buttacudawey
      @buttacudawey 9 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Celine continues to practice. If she didn't her voice would strain....Whitney's voice started to go because of drugs...I don't think mariyah practices as much as she should cause she's a diva and only cares for that...Beyonce has vocals but sometimes she strains but she is still powerful.

    In her warm-ups, you can really hear some of the harmonics/overtones coming through. There are subtle variations in the way two people might make the same vowel sound. But with training and a critical ear, you can make vowel sounds in a way that optimizes for these overtones. When Celine Dion belts out a powerful chorus, you can hear a sort of "ringing" sound as a result. It's a stylistic thing. You want it for some songs and not so much for others.

  • @gerardistephens5142
    @gerardistephens5142 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    So a quick run down; the lip trill she was doing is one of the best starting warm up exercises because of the position your throat it's in.
    The nasally sound on the "ng" is an exercise to close up the throat in a way so stop breathy tones. With this, a lot of people sing with a breathy tone and it's okay when you're younger but as you get over it's like squeezing all that air through your vocal fords and just takes a toll. You lose a lot of air singing this way.
    These exercises not only warm you up but puts the tongue, throat, soft and hard pallet (roof of your mouth) in optimal positions to create the best passages for singing. This is turn will help with singing as you age.
    You can practice singing through your entire songs with this as a warm up and your body copies the positions out of habit when you sing.
    You'll be surprised how many famous people have coaches. Most do but you wouldn't know unless you research them. While these singers are amazing, it's the outside perspective that they require so they don't form bad habits and that you hear your voice differently than people who are listening.

    Queen Celine, her voice has been so wonderfully maintained because she trains and treats it like an athlete trains their muscles. If you let the fame of your talent go to your head, you won't recognize that just because you sound good doesn't mean you're invincible.

      Mart R. Money does mean less stress. If you're going through something that is emotionally stressful, then having money will mean less stress in comparison to having no money.

      BabysFace Money doesn't necessarily mean less stress. I could have a job that pays me millions of dollars a year and be stressed out by the job itself.

    • @TotalSinging
      @TotalSinging 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +BabysFace some of the most stressed out people are those with lots of money. why? because money only gives you the opportunity to not have to worry about money; but add to that, the constant stress of maintaining that lifestyle which means stressing about how to keep making that money.

    Common misconception that great voices don't need coaching. Even some professional singers buy into that myth hence why so many pop singers lose their voices.

    Whitney was and will always be my favourite, but it just goes to show the difference in people's work ethics and how it can sustain your career or ruin it. Celine took her talent seriously and protected her gift for all it was worth. Whitney either didn't care or her addiction lead her to give up on her voice. It's an example to us all the difference between taking care of ourselves .... and not.
