I really like British and Australian police dramas this is a good classic police show us yanks like British and ausie police shows very good mate! These blokes are awesome!
Mr Leach (the bank manager) was played by the late John Woodnutt, who appeared in many Doctor Who episodes and he played Merlin & Mogdred in Knightmare.
Ahh, John Salthouse - did he not play Pvt Ginger Marsh in A Bridge Too Far? Shot by a sniper retrieving an airdrop container that contained berets only.......
at 19:35 you can hear a familiar voice it is of English actor James Warrior who was also in Londons burning known as porky in season 2 episode 3 as a junior firefighter
UKTV Play has just removed The Bill S1-5. :-( It's now got many of the later ones. Luckily, I watched all of S1-3 and many of S4. Still, annoying that they're no longer there.
@Qasim Hussain I thought that Galloway was a great character. I could barely remember him from when it was first shown and it was only earlier this year that I'd seen him again.
The Bill was fantastic series. The day they started to introduced Soap Opera elements was the beginning of the end.
Great episode, Galloway was at his finest.
Another brilliant episode of The Bill. Love these early episodes. Written by Barry Appleton, who was a Police officer before he became a screenwriter.
not enough credit gets given to him.

Galloway is a riot.
A shear masterpiece even for 'The Bill' and thats only the 1st series! ;0)
Thanks for posting.
That Cohan totally pissed of Galloway
Mr Leach (the bank manager) was played by the late John Woodnutt, who appeared in many Doctor Who episodes and he played Merlin & Mogdred in Knightmare.
He was also in an episode of "The Sweeney" (Stay Lucky Eh?)
He was also a senior police officer in LWT’s New Scotland Yard, which was a police drama around 10 years before The Bill started.
“Ackland..!....get me a coffee..”
Ahhh...those were the days.
Litton...!!!! You’ll be a PC for the next 1,000 years.
The old Telephone boxes. Ahh the smell of stale piss.
Amazing....They could at least have got to the van in time at the end!! So frustrating
I had the hots like crazy for Galloway when I was younger lol
Thanks 🙏
Happy New Year
Let’s hope for a better one in 2022

When you have a rough morning, watching these old episodes are the bomb for a remedy. Anyone know what happened to episode 8?
I ate it.
@ Maria Lauria If you type in Rough in the Afternoon the Bill S1E8 you’ll get it on here

Barry Appleton. Top man.
awsome show
I’m Hendon trained yeah so was my old greyhound & he couldn’t drive either 😂😂
fffffff🌘
Epic episode
The WPC in the opening looks like she's off her head
Strange! this bill episode makes police look not that smart.
@33:45 Galloway: "You're stalling. You Jewish git!" Cohen: "No, a white Russian. I have blue blood running in my vein." LOL!
Я изначально думал что он косил под старого американца-бизнесмена))
@@rustam590почему Американец?
49:00 "EYYYY STOP YOU BASTARD!!!" 😂😂😂😂😂
That bit always has me in 😂😂
does any body know why john salt-house was only in 3series?he wasbril as ds.galloway.
Low performance in his appraisals with Brownlow. He had a bad temper and trod on people’s feet.
When The Bill went to more nights the actor thought it wouldn't be as gritty more like a soap
DI Galloway
He didn't think half hour episodes would work, he was right too, the quality went down even though it went for years
He was offered a 4 year contract but declined.
It's Roy Galloway vs Morris Cohan.
Hooknose Cohen was by played by John Blythe. T
shame about the picture tho. almost in black and white
Was that old guy Don Beech friend who helped him go on the run
Galloway remids me of DS Boulton
Is reg the dude walking. Explains his retirement
Not Galloway’s day.
Yep
at 45:50 Roy Galloway was pissed off
Did they not have smart phones
Ummm it was mid 80s

@Qasim Hussain
Have a look yourself !
They're on the UKTV Play website.
@Qasim Hussain
I think 7 is the earliest Series.
Shame that 1-6 went. Was great seeing Series 1 as you could see the very beginnings of the show.

@Qasim Hussain It is indeed, I had all the episodes saved I wanted series 1 - 16 and one day they were just gone?
Where can I get all of season 1 can you please tell me?
😊
lol, Policing -pre PACE (just)
That's right The Bill started as a TV series the year the PACE was introduced (1984)
To put fully the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984
From 0:31 who is the male policeman in the Bill's opening credits?
I think the two in the opening credits were extras
Isn't that Reg Hollis (- apologies for any misspelling!!)?
