I think this was 1983 in Taiwan. These two foreign correspondents in Asia were talking about Teresa's music being banned by the Communist Government in mainland China for no known reason other than possibly labelled as "spiritual pollution". It's said in 1988, perhaps the "spiritual pollution" was suddenly cleansed because China officially invited Teresa to hold a concert in Beijing, which she seriously considered. Then came 1989 June 4th Tianmen Square. Teresa therefore dismissed the idea and never reconsidered. By then she wasn't touring nor considering any concert anywhere. It was nothing sudden but it's in her plan to transition to production, which she dropped hints years prior. As per the former Mayor of Taipei, one time he and his wife wanted to take Teresa out for dinner to show appreciation for her work. Surprisingly, Teresa said she no longer ate out because she drew too much attention. Instead, she had the Mayor and his wife over to her home for a home cooked meal.
